Hope you have a good day at the book fair tomorrow, Janet. Will you be there all day?

Not sure:confused3

Some already saw this posted on my FB, but some didn't. Lindsey got her progress report for school today and did excellent. Straight A's and S's in all subjects. :thumbsup2 I also looked online to see if my grades were in and I was surprised to see them there as well. A in Med Asst, A- in Anat & Phys and a B+ in Med Terms. I'm really pleased with them.

Go Lindsay and Lori:woohoo: :banana:

Oh, man. I guess winter is really here. It's 23 this morning. Snow starting overnight, maybe 4-8 inches, before turning to rain in the morning - what an ugly, ugly mess. :sad2: I'd almost rather just have the snow than the sloppy slippery stuff. ;)

They are calling for 1-3 inches here tonigh into tomorrow. Like you said, not enough to cancel school or anything, just enough to make itmiserable to get anywhere:headache:

++++++++++++++

Off to book fair. Chat with you all later:goodvibes

Hi all!:cool1::cool1: We have yet to get our tree-we thought that we were getting our fireplace cleaned, but are holding off until spring. So now we're waiting until we hear when the plumber can fix our bathroom sink (there were a couple of weird things going on-my curling iron was rusting, my flat iron had yech on it...)we ended up cleaning out under the sink yesterday-turns out a hose was leaking out.

Yeah, 8 inches would probably cancel stuff, but with rain on top and all that... Ugh. :headache:

Have fun at book fair! :goodvibes

I hate plumbing problems... :hug: How are you?

Today I got up at 6:05am to WORK OUT! :eek: I think someone slipped something in my drink. I got a new Boot Camp Biggest Loser DVD and let me tell you, Bob's not nearly as adorable and endearing at 6:15 in the morning. :sad2: Yesterday I worked in the middle of the day and I had to take a second shower, so that's no worky... I'll find my groove soon, I'm sure. The important thing is that I don't feel bad about taking care of me and I stick to it. :thumbsup2

I'm sore, though. I felt muscles all day yesterday that I didn't know I had. I'm sure by tonight I'll be hating life. ;)

I am having coffee with a new friend after I drop Baylie off at school. She and her dd (who's on B's team) are new to the area and need to make a few friends. She just opened a dance shop right by our dance school too.

Baylie had a hard day yesterday. She found out a friend of hers has Leukemia. I guess it's back and she'll have to go through chemo. :guilty: She's such a softie that it was really upsetting for her. Then she had dance and was up until 11:30 doing homework. She's got a big test tomorrow too, so I feel bad for her that tonight's not looking much better. :hug:

K has training in SA today and tomorrow, so he's staying overnight at his mom's. It's a good night for it with The Biggest Loser Finale on tonight. Not to mention SYTYCD. :yay:

Have a good Tuesday!!! :grouphug:

Aw, she's purty! I miss real trees.
Okay, I don't miss sneezing for 3 weeks straight, but I miss how they look!

Lindsey got her progress report for school today and did excellent. Straight A's and S's in all subjects.
Yay, that's terrific! :thumbsup2

Still getting my computer back to normal. :headache: But here are some pics of our Doubletree Suites room, in case anyone's interested:

Way to go on the marks Lori! Congrats to Linds as well!

CE - Your tree is so pretty!

Dawn - Way to go on the workouts!
So sorry to hear about Baylie's friend. :hug:

Sorry if I forgot you!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well we got a couple centimetres of snow yesterday and it is sticking around today as it is -7C outside right now! Brrr! We are supposed to get hit again tonight/tomorrow with another 15cm! :eek:
Well my upper back is killing me this morning. I was walking down the stairs to the basement with a cup of milk in my hands and of course I slipped and fell. :headache: Luckily I was near the bottom of the stairs so I didn't fall far and I didn't smack my head just landed on my upper left side. I'm sure I will probably have a bruise tomorrow. Of course the milk went everywhere as well and was a huge pain to cleanup. Why am I such a klutz!
Thanks for the geography lesson:thumbsup2
You're welcome :rotfl2:
The tree farm - pretty shot of the snow and such:
Wow that is quite a lot of snow!
Oh no, glad you're OK though!
Had my golf club Christmas lunch today and it was very nice, the food was good and we played 9 holes before hand. One of the ladies didn't have such a good time though, she slipped and ended up being taken off in an ambulance with a suspected broken leg/ankle :eek: Poor thing slipped about 1.5 years ago and broke her wrist, again on the golf course :sad2:
I went to the grocery store and that's good. I hadn't been home for a minute when my phone rang and it was the tennis team captain. With the weather forecast (6-8 inches of snow, followed by sleet or rain) she was hoping I could try to talk to the other team's captains to see what they were thinking about tomorrow - play anyway, only play if there's school, etc., etc. She's at work and didn't have any of the contact info. Then, if we DO play and yet there's not school, one of our players probably can't come (I'd be in that boat if D wasn't going to be home) and so I also need to try to scare up a back-up just in case that situation comes into play.
I have a feeling phone calls are just going to be flying all tomorrow morning. :rolleyes:
Wow, that sucker's bright! :) Looks great! The kids are adorable.
Between the house being electric blue and the tree you need to put sunglasses on just to walk in the door. I was getting headaches because of it all when it first went up but I'm used to it now. Hopefully next year it will be more tame. :laughing:
I'm just waiting for DR to finish lunch and the he and I need to head to the grocery store. We had steak last night for dinner and he spied that there was some left over so asked for that and chocolate mousse for lunch. What the heck?? Does he think he's living at a 4 star restaurant? LOL I gotta say though...that kid loves him some cow. :rotfl:
We too are supposed to be getting some bad weather and I have a feeling the store is going to be a nuthouse. Not a ton of snow maybe 2-3 inches but we'll have rain on top of it. I hate going out in this kind of weather and I told DR yesterday I'd take the heat of summer right about now than this cold cold cold weather!
Have a good Tuesday everyone!
Thanks for all the tree pics. They're beautiful. :thumbsup2
Lori, congrats to you and Lindsey.:cool1:
Book Fair VENT time. THe person who was chairing the event didn't show up until 11:30am (bf started at 9:00). No excuse, just I figured you all had everything under control. In the meantime she never checked inventory until 1:30 yesterday afternoon and this when she realized no registered were delivered, which means no cc sales and we had to get money from petty cash, becasue she didn't have that ready either. Woman from scholastic comes to show us how to use registers (that aren't there yet) and apparently I was the only who paid attention:mad: Once they finally arrived I hooked them up (becasue apparently no one paid attention to that part either) and we were able to take CC sales. The president of the Home and School was livid. How can you chair an event and not be there, etc. I told her that if this other woman who was there and doing absolutely nothing didn't get out of my way I was going to tell her off...
yep, I did. We are trying to ring people up and she is just standing there in our way. Everytime I turned around she was in my way, so I told her that if she was going to stand around and do nothing to go over there (pointing at a space across the room) and get out of our way. It was too busy and crowded, KWIM? Well she got offended and went to the HSA President to complain about me and the president told her that I was right.:lmao:
Then as they were all getting ready to leave (leaving me to straighten and lock up) I asked you was going to be running the register tomorrow. They all looked at me like I had 6 heads, and said you are aren't you? Um, no I am working tomorrow and Thursday. So, I had to give them a quick tutorial on how to use the register. I think the over under on the amount of phone calls I get tomorrow is 15:rotfl2:
Otherwise it went well:rotfl: Kids had a good time, spent lots of money and I think we will have a nice turnout for family night tomorrow.:thumbsup2
Hello all. I'm sick again. I seriously can't friggin win.
I have a nasty head cold. AND I strained my back really bad at work yesterday. I was in tears when I got home. So no work for me today, which I'll prob get yelled at for but if I can't walk what can I do?!
I am just hoping to get my Christmas cards written out while i sit on the couch and watch movies. Maybe some wrapping if my back lets me.
So it's looking like we aren't doing any exchanges?! I def will still organize them if more people wanna do them, but the 4 people who responded isn't really enough to do it.
I have my list for cards from last year and plan to use that for sending cards. As for anyone new you'd have to work out card addresses with people whom you'd like to send them to, most of us have met IRL and have know each other for years. Please don't take offense, but there's no way to send a list of other people's info to anyone without permission. That make sense?
I am off to the couch again, sitting here for the 15 min i have is kicking my back's butt.
Happy Tuesday!
Glad it was nice, but sorry about your friend. (Acquaintance?)
Bit of both, we've played together several times but I wouldn't say she was my friend IYKWIM! Good luck with the tennis :rotfl2:
I know :rotfl2: Wow the book fair lady sounds like a disaster, I bet you're glad you're working tomorrow :rotfl2:
Hello all. I'm sick again. I seriously can't friggin win.
Oh no :hug:
It's the funeral of my kinda niece tomorrow here is an article that was in the National paper http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...orries-weight-led-bulimia-fatal-overdose.html I decided I wouldn't go, Mum was OK with that so....
Late breaking ancestry news! (brought to you by www.ancestry.com--free for 2 weeks--check it out!)
I have traced my Grandma's side back (on my mom's side) to......
King John II of Scotland way back in 1236. After he was King, the family changed the name to Scott.
I also found a Sir William Scott in 1522 who was on the council of Henry VIII and build Scott's Hall in Kent!
Now of course I need more historical research....but so far it seems that Scotland no longer HAS a King <<gasp>> and this may indeed be why his descendents ended up as farmers in the backwoods of Virginia! Jo....I may need to borrow your caravan to go find Scotland.
The funny thing----Appalachia has one of the purest gene pools in the US (aka--we're just a little in-bred and we don't ever leave the area)!....but it's neat to track us back---we have maintained many Scotch-Irish traditions that have even been lost over there....and we are very frugal!
Anyway....Ab says she always thought she was a princess! :lmao:
Try out this site though---it's a lot of fun---if you can get your family line back to England (mine in 1600s), the records are actually better. They seemed to worry more about surviving than recording in the 1800s! Luckily my relatives went from England to NJ to Southwest VA so they are easier to find. England did some kind of Millenium research on people which is a lot easier to look at than the US stuff.:thumbsup2
So......off to find Mel Gibson to report my claim to the Scottish throne <<fanning self in memory of Bravehart movie!>> :rotfl:
Can we get that in inches and farenheit:rotfl2:
:rotfl: 15cm = 6in -7C = 19F
Glad you weren't hurt bad:hug:. Did I ever tell the story about Jim falling down our basement steps? He was carrying Jimmy who was 15 months old at the time...broke Jimmy's leg on the railing:eek::sad2:
:eek: The only injury ever done by my klutz attacks has been to myself. I no longer have the little piece of skin that connects your upper gums to the inside of your lip as it got ripped one time when I fell. :sad2:
Janet - That sucks about the book fair chair and volunteers. :sad2:
TE - You are too funny! My Mom did the family history for her side of the family several years ago. We are related through marriage to a US President, also apparently we have some very diluted Native American blood as an ancestor married a "princess". No royalty though, that I know of. :laughing:
Lori, congrats to you and Lindsey.:cool1:
Thanks Angela! :goodvibes
Only cow Jimmy will eat is McDonald's Cheeseburgers (do they even count:sick:) and meatballs, not even mine...the frozon ones:sad2:
:rotfl2: I think I got DR addicted to steak early on. We were living in TX when he was just starting on solids and getting his teeth in. We had gone out to dinner one night at some steak place and he went gaga over the food on my plate. I gave him some of my baked potatoe and whatever kind of veggie I had but he kept longing for my steak. I cut a piece into teeny tiny itty bitty pieces and I swear the kid gobbled them down in like 2 seconds flat and wanted more. To this day anytime we have steak or any other part of a cow he loves it.
No, the lights we have outside are blue as well and then we have these blinking/flashing blue LED snowflake lights. So between looking at those and the tree I was getting headaches.
Dinner is done here and the kids are about to get in the tub before heading to bed. I need to run to the store once they are in bed and pick up a few things I forgot this afternoon. I could do it tomorrow when Linds is in school but some of the things need to be a surprise to them since the elf that comes and visits them at Christmastime will be bringing them.
Eh, I just might skip it and go tomorrow since I just looked outside and it's raining. YUCK! It'll be a good night to curl up and read some books I just got from the library.
Hope y'all have a good night!
Well, the only thing now is that it's not supposed to start snowing until 6:00 a.m. So, by the time that the buses go, it probably won't actually be that bad - but it's supposed to get worse during the day. I don't care if they go to school, but I don't want an early dismissal if we're playing the match, you know? But I don't know if they'll call school off if it's not bad at the start of the day, either. We'll see. Sigh. :headache:
Been a long day and strated to Dis when Internet went down So just getting caught up with all my threads !!I am still fighting this cold/cough and have like zero energy !!! Gonna have yet another early night !! Tomorrow is the House Christmas Party which means a BUSY evening , but good food at least !!!
Morning! :goodvibes
Did I tell you guys I booked a pirate cruise from the GF for C and A in March? I'm excited about it. :yay: The girls and I are also going to tea at the GF with Mel one evening too. That will be nice. :cutie: I'm guessing the boys will got to DQ or to ride Characters in Flight while we do tea. I'm trying to do something special each trip for the girls/boys or all together.
Has anyone done tea or the pirate cruise? :wizard:
