BUSCH GARDENS
We woke up at 7:30 again and met Denise and the kids for breakfast by 8:00am. The hotel ran a shuttle to Busch Gardens, hourly, so we wanted to make sr we were on that 1st bus that left at 9:00am (BG does not open until 10a). We ate and still had plenty of timefor everone to use the bathroom and then we headed outside to wait for the bus.
It was a cloudy day, but I wasn't worried because all week they said clouds (and it was off and on) and rainy (which it wasn't). The bus arrived promptly at 8:50am and let at 9:00am! Thiswas a great service becasue it saved us paying $13.00 to park We were at BG in about 20 minutes. It stared to rain. Luckiy I had brought Jimmy's raincoat and a couple of dollar store ponchos for us. It wasn't raining a lot, but Jimmy wanted his raincoat anyway.
We had our tickets (I had purchased them from a place called discover america for $37 each as opposed tothe $69 each they normally are). Denise went to the ticket windowand purchased the tickets for her and the kids and we were off.
Like Disney, they have a rope drop, but you can enter the park and walk a bit before you actally hit the rope. All the stores were open of course The boys were all about smooshing pennies this trip, so the 1st stop was the pressed penny machine. Mission accomplished we headed toward the England/ Ireland section. Our goal was to get on the train an take that to the Italy section and start there. Our plan changed when the people at the rope informed us that The Sesame Street Section was open, so off we went.....
We pretty much rode everything here twice and before 10am!
From Sesame Street we headed to Italy where we rode this...
This is the log flume ride. You don't get wet, you get soaked...which would have been a lot more fun if it hadn't been raining.
We then rode Roman Rapids, which is thier version of Kali. Again we got soaked...twice: There was no line when we got back to the loading dock they let us go again, because now it wasn't just raining....I WAS POURING! Honestly, I don't know if it was te rain or what, but there was never more than a 5 minute wait for anything. Then again, wer weren't riding the big coasters and that may be where all the people were????
Here are some more pictues frm the Italy area
After this I really don't remember what order we did what things so I am just going to post some more pictures...
Dinner in Germany...
After dinner we let the kids play some games and then we had one more ride we waned to do before we shopped and headed out.
It was called Europe in the Air. It is supposed to be like Soarin....but it ain't. It was cool, but it was more of a combo of Star Tours and Soarin. Not overly impressed but I am glad we did it...once.
After that we headed to the front of the park to get some shopping done. Jimmy picked out a suffed Clydesdale that he has name Clyde...yeah, I know original. I got a magnet and Jim bought a garden gnome. Why you may ask? Well, as you know he is tryng to get out of the current school he is in. Well have you see the travelocity commercial with the gnome singing Dee de de dee I've got to get of of here. Jim had printed up a sign saying that and has it hangingarond the gnomes neck and it is the faculty lunch room.
After our shoppig expedition we headed to the bus stop...to wait....35 minutes, we were a bit early for the pick up time.
Back at the hotel we said good bye to Dense an the kids. Got Jimmy into bed and packed.
We got up the next morning, packed up the car, checked out, stopped at McD's for breakfast and were on the road at 9:08am. We pulled into our driveway at 2:30ish and with that, our excursion to Williamsburg was over.
I am guessing that Jimmy had a good time. We ran into hs 1st grade teacher at school on Friday and he was telling her all about the trip and everything he learned.
We had a great time and would definitely go back again!
