Hampton Inn & Suites Anaheim Resort Convention Center - Thoughts?

So I booked Disneyland Hotel last week, then over the weekend modified it to Pixar Place because my 15 year old thought the theming was better. I still thought DLR looked better but the cost difference spoke to my soul so that change wasn't hard to convince me to do.

BUT I've been digging more and finding that if we stay a mile away (this isn't rocket science, just hadn't really thought about doing it like this) we can save nearly $1200 (specifically the Hampton mentioned above). We think Hamptons areas a rule of thumb usually very sufficient and accommodate our needs. We are able bodied and, while a day at Disney does usually wear is out in the end, capable of walking :)

That said - any locals or those that have visited before have any thoughts on this hotel or location? I've read it's walkable albeit long. Is it a safe walk? Have also seen several comment about walking to the Toy Story lot instead. Is that a safe walk? I'm also seeing ubers run about $10 so in my mind we could walk in the morning and uber back and night and STILL save a nice chunk of change.

Plus they have free breakfast which was one of my daughters wishes originally (why, I don't know, but the girl loves her a continental breakfast :) )

To sweeten the pot I've also tossed out that the cost difference would allow us to do a day of Premier Pass.... which my frugal heart thinks is a lot of money but also we know this is almost 100% a once in a lifetime trip for us and it would be nice to ensure we can ride all the big ticket items.

I haven't stayed at that hotel, but I would absolutely stay there! It's so close to the Toy Story lot.

We just went last weekend and stayed at the Comfort Suites, which is a further walk down Katella. We did a combination of Lyft and walking to the Toy Story lot for the shuttle. Free breakfast is also a nice plus! If you can sign for Premier Pass, that would be totally worth it.
