Everyone else a big HI from Jersey, reality show capital of the world:sad2:

OK so I decided to do a live trip report, link in signature. I am leaving Wednesday and will do one more update (maybe more) before I leave.

Hope to have you guys tag along.

Still having a great weather here in the Northeast but can tell Fall is coming!

Hi Everyone!

Finally got back from a wonderful weekend in San Diego. We hit Legoland, which was totally sucktastic :headache: and the 2nd day we spent at Balboa Park, which was TOTALLY worth the trip! We ate at some wonderful and famous places (Cafe Coyote & The Prado), drank some insanely delish adult beverages... pineapple chipotle margaritas....and had tons of laughs, courtesy of Waldo! :thumbsup2

I hope you all had a great weekend. Now that school's starting, I'm hoping to be able to keep up here! :)

T. :hippie:

Hi friends!

School starts tomorrow for DS and Tink will start K on Thursday. DS is going to be in 3rd grade... yikes! I am really hoping to stop by a lot more after school starts! I miss you all so much!

((hugs))

Now that everyone's babies are in school again, maybe we can all chat a little more. :cutie:

My class actually starts today. We had open house last week, but today I get to spend time with my little friends. :lovestruc They were so cute last week. It's pouring, so I hope I still think that at the end of the day! :rotfl:

Happy fake Monday, everyone!!!

JO: You are not boring. We love to hear about your walking, golfing and not drinking tea. :)

CE: One of my dearest GF's here, plays in a Women's League (tennis) and her stories are so eerily similar to yours. Sad. :sad2: What is it about women that they always seem to have this drama? I hope you get into the group you want/like. It's supposed to be fun, right? Boys are off to school now, I see. YAY! Mine too!

Janet: Love you Janet. Your pics are great! My favorite was the one of Jim on the horsey. LOL

MO: Doing good, thanks! Seeing Dr. Evil soon so hopefully continues that way. Your pics/TR were amazing! Of course, it prompted me to start pricing Italian trips. ;) How are your puppies, btw?

Kristel, JenV, Rosie, others? :wave2:

T: Sorry about Legoland. I wanted to take the boys there, but now maybe glad I didn't? :confused3
The drinks sound yummy!

V: Your trip is going to be so cool. I'm jealous. I have wanted to do that trip for a long time. Does Leo like rocks/fossils? Gus does, and when we drove out to Utah from Vegas a couple of years ago, there were TONS and TONS of spots alongside the road where you could buy cool rocks and fossils. I thought I'd mention that, as we really enjoyed some of them!

Dawn: Yay! Back to school!:banana::banana:

*********************
Not much here guys. I am still sick, which is making me sort of grumpy. :headache: The boys only have a half-day today so they'll be back in 2 hrs. I am glad they get to "ease into" their school week. :rolleyes1

Waiting to hear from bank on a car loan for SD. Ugh. The kid is turning 18 in 4 months and he's cost me more in the last 6 weeks than he has in the last 17.75 years. LOL
You guys just wait. It's fun. Real fun.

MEL

Busch Gardens sounds relly cool, not Disney COOL but still cool!!

It was very cool!

Hope you're all enjoying the holiday, too!

Hope you did too!

Do you take paypal?

:mad::rolleyes:

All I do is write the same updates, went to golf, went for a long walk etc etc I'm so boring

You are not boring:hug:

Janet - isn't BGW beautiful!

We really enjoyed it. Probably would have enjoyed it even more if it didn't rain:rolleyes:

Everyone else a big HI from Jersey, reality show capital of the world

What, Jerseylicious, RHONJ, and Jersey Shore don't give eveyone a true picture of what Jersey is really like:confused3;) Although I have to say I like Cake Boss and that's in Hoboken ::yes::

Yeah, they have it tough:rolleyes:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Well my baby is officially a second grader. He was excitd but nervous. I got to meet his teacher and if first impressions are any indication, it is going to be a good year:woohoo:

Leaving work early to pick him up after school since his after school program is closed today.

Tonight I am sure I will have books to cover and tons of paperwork to fill out. Hope you all have a great day.

Morning all! I'm all caught up, but don't have time for replies.

So Leo and I escaped to WDW the past two days... I don't normally report on quick getaways like that, but this was a pretty interesting weekend trip, so I'll likely be back with some highlights. :thumbsup2

I'll say this now - we spent a lot of time at WDW talking about our Southwest trip next summer. Apparently, we are SO ready for a non-Disney trip! :rotfl:

We'll be catching up with Mo next Sat. at Busch Gardens - hooray!!! It's been way too long. :goodvibes

I start school this week. I may or may not already be having panic attacks over the workload, now that Leo doesn't go away every other weekend. How in heck am I gonna get this done?

I'll comment below....

Hope you're feeling better! I must have missed the part where SD is getting a car??? My nephew got his 2 car in 4 months. I think I mentioned he wrecked his into the canyon. Bonehead. Yeah, well my brother went out and bought him another one. Bonehead.

Glad you had fun, but what was wrong with Legoland? I was all excited when I heard they were opening one in Florida![/quot]

At least you only have to do it for 1! :lmao:

Yes, but don't forget he's older now and can entertain himself for awhile whilst you study, etc. You can do it! :thumbsup2

**********************************************************
So anyway, let me elaborate on why Legoland was sucktastic. Don't get me wrong, it's great if your kids are under 5 and it's somewhere to visit at least 1 time. But let me keep it real... it's a glorified, overpriced ($79 pp) carnival. The rides suck. Period. My kids deamed everything but 4 rides "babyish". The best part of the whole place is Miniland where they've created "mini" scenes of different US cities. There's Vegas, New York, New Orleans, San Francisco and DC.

My kids are completely spoiled by Disney and Disney Imagineering, so when they rode most of the rides, they expected Disney quality and were disappointed. Oh well, at least they agreed we don't need to go back... EVER! :lmao:

Balboa Park is AMAZING! It's full of really great museums, gardens, shops and a few really nice places to eat. If you ever come to Cali, it's a must do! :thumbsup2

Anyway, I've got to start laundry and get my work-out on. I really need to get my fat *** up and moving... I'm feeling so gross these day. Ugh. :sad2:

Have a great Tuesday! :hippie:

So Leo and I escaped to WDW the past two days... I don't normally report on quick getaways like that, but this was a pretty interesting weekend trip, so I'll likely be back with some highlights.

Sounds good:thumbsup2

I'll say this now - we spent a lot of time at WDW talking about our Southwest trip next summer. Apparently, we are SO ready for a non-Disney trip! :rotfl:

That's how we felt this year V. ALthough after we came back from Williamsburg, Jimmy asked if I was SURE that we could not go back to WDW until he was almost 10:rolleyes: Next year our plan is to do a few 1 or 2 day trips. DC (Jimmy is dying to see the Smithsonian), NYC (Central Park Zoo), BAltimore (Aquarium) as well as several places right here in our state:thumbsup2

We'll be catching up with Mo next Sat. at Busch Gardens - hooray!!! It's been way too long. :goodvibes

Yay!:cheer2:

True! :lmao:

Why do I know this name?

Are you doing Brownies again this year, or is Maddie a Junior now?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

GOt tons of stuff done at work, but it doens't even look like I put a dent in what was left on my desk:headache: Going to be leaving in about a half hour to go pick up JImmy. Here is hoping that he had a GREAT 1st day.

Chat with you all later!

Yep, it drives me nuts. I swore up and down I would avoid the drama, but it's nearly impossible to actually do. Oh, well. My boys went Thursday, but it feels more "real" now that we have most of the week. ;)

Well my baby is officially a second grader. He was excitd but nervous. I got to meet his teacher and if first impressions are any indication, it is going to be a good year:woohoo:

Oh, good. And yes, the boys have yet to have homework, but I had a ton of paperwork the first night. Not one thing came home Friday, though.

So Leo and I escaped to WDW the past two days... I don't normally report on quick getaways like that, but this was a pretty interesting weekend trip, so I'll likely be back with some highlights. :thumbsup2

Cool!

I start school this week. I may or may not already be having panic attacks over the workload, now that Leo doesn't go away every other weekend. How in heck am I gonna get this done?

I have complete faith in you. You're amazing. :goodvibes

Hope you're feeling better! I must have missed the part where SD is getting a car??? My nephew got his 2 car in 4 months. I think I mentioned he wrecked his into the canyon. Bonehead. Yeah, well my brother went out and bought him another one. Bonehead.

:scared1:

Anyway, I've got to start laundry and get my work-out on. I really need to get my fat *** up and moving... I'm feeling so gross these day. Ugh. :sad2:

Yeah, I did my little run thing today again - starting over one more time. I did OK for part of the summer, but whatever I lost has mostly crept back. I can't fall into the "I'm home, so I'll eat!" mentality again. Another reason to get a job... :rotfl:

******************************************************
Got the kids on the bus and then took a nap - it is now 84, but it stayed in the low seventies until just about noon, and it was cloudy... Oops. :rotfl: (A good reason NOT to get a job... :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:)

But then I went for my run/walk, then to the grocery. The boys will go to karate tonight, and that's about it. Tomorrow I take the dog for a bath/nail trim (he REEKS - I don't know what it is, but yuck) and then I sub into a noon tennis class. Thursday the dog has shots at the vet, and that's my week. :lmao:

Hope you're all having a great fake Monday! ;)

T- I'm teaching 7 2.5 yr olds. They are so adorable and fun. :lovestruc It is going to be a lot of work, though, because my class is the first one where they sit in chairs they can get out of and on nap mats vs. cribs. They'll get the hang of things before Christmas, I'm sure. :cutie:

FYI- We're looking on Craigslist for a canoe in case we need it to get to work and school tomorrow. Teasing... :rotfl2: I have no idea how many inches we've gotten from the tropical storm (Which, I had no idea was coming. I knew it was supposed to rain, but not that it was a t.s. :headache:), but it's been pouring all day. I kind of like it, really. Driving in it was a little scary, though. :scared1:

Jo- Your life may be boring, but your accent makes everything sound adorable, so we want you to continue to post. ;)

T-Bummer about Legoland. :sad2:

CE- A nap would have been nice in this rain. Maybe tomorrow?

V- popcorn::

Janet- I'm glad your year looks good too! I'm glad about A's teacher this year too. Last year I was not a fan of his teacher at all. Mean & PG. Not a good combo. :headache:

Wow Fockers are back !!School has started and life can get back to normal when I have to skim 10 pages a day!!!:rotfl2:

In 38 days I will be heading to Disney for my first ever Free Disney Trip!!!Am already looking at next years Disney offerings !!:rotfl2:

Work has been brutal !!! I worked all day saturday at my regular job, then a double at my second job on Sunday and yet another 9 hours yesterday , only to have to be in at 6 am at regular jiob today due to short staff issues !!!! Now I can't find anyone to come in at 6 am tomorrow soooo I am stuck again !! I just put in 14 hours and now have to go back again !!:sad2:At least my one staff is back after surgery and it was heaven to have him back and cracking the whip!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

The girls seem to have mixed feelings about High School Steph couldn't open her locker and got lost twice and heaven forbid no one she knows in her art class !!!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Kyle hasn't said much about school but he didn't start anew one:confused3:rolleyes1

CE- A nap would have been nice in this rain. Maybe tomorrow?

There you go! :goodvibes

Work has been brutal !!!

I know there's no point in telling you to take it easy, so just know you've got some sympathy heading your way.

Kyle hasn't said much about school but he didn't start anew one:confused3:rolleyes1

I hear that one - my kids keep looking at me like I'm nuts about asking what their new teachers are like and stuff - it's like it's so old hat that there's nothing to report. :rotfl:

V - I don't think I knew you were planning a non-disney trip, I may have some pointers for you, we can talk IN PERSON:cool1: on Saturday!!!!!!

T - Balboa park sounds great, may need to add to the itinerary for 2012!

HI CE, Mel, Dawn Rosie, Janet and everyone else.

I am working to 2:30 tomorrow and then the car service is picking me up at 4, then it is vacation!!!!!!!!

Collection for Janet

Please send any dollar amount that is affordable at this time to myself or Dawn. Poor Janet is missing the letters:
I, Y, N, L, G, T and D from her keyboard.

Donations are not tax-deductible. Thank you.

Mel:banana:

(ly/mi-lmao!!)
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Mel you are hi-larious!!!!

Hi ALL!!!!!

Work is just wonderful! I'm about ready to fall asleep in my chair. I'll be in super fine shape by the end of my evening/morning on the 10th.

UPDATES:

MEL: Gus had a birthday! She has been feeling ill. SD is getting a car. He is costing her so much she is actually ready to trade him in on a younger/cheaper model.

Tell Gus HAPPY BIRTHDAY! You'll be getting a car for him before you know it, so cheer up!!! :rotfl2:
Hope you get feeling better soon!!

ROSIE: Work, work, work, DISNEY!!!! 38 more days for her free trip. They had a luau at work.

Say, that work thing sounds familiar.

DAWN and family watched fireworks in their pajamas. She is teaching some adorable 2.5 year olds.

I love the idea of doing anything in my PJs!

CE: Slowed down for a few minutes. She finished reading HP6 to the kids. They had a cookout with friends. D is at training in Montreal this week.

Doug read all the books. I cheated and only read the last one.

JO: Ate Cadbury and played with bug 'LAVA'. She thinks she is boring.
:rotfl2:

I have to admit that most of the Brits I know are on BBCA. I did grow up with Monty Python on the tele a lot. I can tell you one thing, Jo, you are nothing like that Cat on the HW of DC. Oy!

MO: Posted her last entry for Italy at post #2089. She leaves for Florida in a few days. She has a link to her live report in her siggie.

Thanks for sharing your Italian trip. It looked like so much fun.

JANET: Posted her last entry for Williamsburg at post #2093. She had a chatfest at her book fair meeting. The zoo party was a huge hit. Then they had the in-laws, burgers and dogs on the grill. (That didn't come out right??!!) Jimmy was ready for school a day ahead he was so excited.

Busch Gardens is $69! Holy Cow! Your trip was terrific. The kids looked like they had a blast. Jimmy getting ready for school is so cute! BTW, were the in-laws a bit chewy? :lmao:

SLATE: How many fingers am I holding up?

T: Balboa park was great. Eats and drinks were great. Legoland was not so great.

Well 3 out of 4 ain't so bad. And I thought $69 was bad.

JV: The kids all start back to school of some form or another this week. She can't wait to get back here and chat more often.

Glad you are back! Take it easy the first couple of days. We don't want you to sprain your fingers.

V: She and Leo had a good time at WDW. Apparently they are both ready for the visit to the Southwest. Next week she will meet up with Mo at Busch Gardens. She will also start her schooling.

I hope you and Mo and Leo have a great time!!!!

How's that for an update!

Ciao!

Thanks for the update Kristel!!

Sounds like you like to work with young ones as much as I like older ones!

I was ready to actually recommend a canoe! (Daran likes his Old Town Canoe FWIW) ;)

++++++++++++

And the word of the day is "Sucktastic": adj. Used to describe Legoland but can be used to describe other underwhelming events or days.

+++++++++++++++++

Off today and still in PJs! (which frightened the man who actually showed up to work on my driveway today!)

Daran had class till late last nite---he started his MBA last week and he's gonna be really busy---in addition to the 65-75 hours he works each week. But it's something he's wanted to do for a while.

+++++++++++

And, yes, Jersey is popular! My kids are working on the accent which is hysterical---I've never really watched Jersey shore but they love it. What is it??

ITA! We won't be doing a big Disney trip until 2012. We really enjoyed our San Diego trip and want to do several 3 or 4 day trips next year, instead of blowing our wad on 1 trip. It's so nice to drive and not have to worry about airports, rental cars and overpacking. ;):lmao:

OK, so we won't rush to go there when it opens in FLA. The city scapes sound cool though:thumbsup2
Yeah, I'm going to say don't rush over! :sad2: I'll post pics as soon as I upload them from the camera.

Are you doing Brownies again this year, or is Maddie a Junior now?
I've decided to move her to Juniors this year. Technically, she should be a Brownie, but going on age alone, she qualifies for Juniors. Half my troop will be Juniors and half will be Brownies. Since my co-leader's daughter isn't old enough to be a Junior, she will stay a Brownie and my co-leader will take over the Brownie side of the troop and I'll take the Junior side. It should be interesting.

Yeah, I did my little run thing today again - starting over one more time. I did OK for part of the summer, but whatever I lost has mostly crept back. I can't fall into the "I'm home, so I'll eat!" mentality again. Another reason to get a job... :rotfl:
I saw that on FB. I started the C2K5 today and yesterday I did yoga. I really need to strenghthen my body before I can really push. When I run, I feel like my legs are going to break under my weight. :rotfl2:

T- I'm teaching 7 2.5 yr olds.

Whoa. :lmao:

T - Balboa park sounds great, may need to add to the itinerary for 2012

Have a great trip!

Ciao, bella! :goodvibes

Hola, Peeps!

Whoa... 2 days in row??!! Somebody stop me! ;)

Had Back to School last night and met Evan's teacher. She is so nice, I can see why Evan likes her so much. She praised him on his good behavior. Shocking, I know. ;) I hope it's a great year for him.

Maddie's teacher we are very familiar with, as she was her 1st grade teacher. Her teacher was very a honest about being nervous teaching 3rd grade, since she's been teaching 1st grade for 27 years. But she's such a fabulous teacher, I have no doubt she'll be amazing. We are so lucky to have her again.

Hit the pavement this morning, so I'm feeing good about that. I just need to keep moving and get the rooms cleaned and head over to Target. I haven't been there since last week! :scared1: I wonder if they miss me?

Happy Hump Day!! :hippie:

Morning girls!

Things are going along here. It's cool this morning (56 degrees!) and I'm loving it. Today was the boys' first full day of school and Gus is already pulling the "tummy ache" can't go to school carp. UGH! :headache:

He missed the bus, I drove him. And now it's all peaceful here.

Dawn's washing away in a flood. She has the rowboat ready to go pick up the kids at school soon. :thumbsup2

We have finally got a plan for our trip. Dawn is insisting that she ISN'T making a plan....but I made her. :yay: We are going to have so much fun!!
Only 3 weeks to go! Now, if the hurricanes will just stay away. Fingers crossed!

Nothing else here. Sorry. I am boring. :surfweb:

Mel:banana:

You emailed me 15 schedules. I broke down. It's understandable, I think.

I thought we were hanging up to nap? :rolleyes1 I'm going now. TTYL?

Jo - you still playing golf or is that even silly of me to ask
Of course I am, only Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday this week :rotfl2:

Finally got back from a wonderful weekend in San Diego. We hit Legoland, which was totally sucktastic :headache: and the 2nd day we spent at Balboa Park, which was TOTALLY worth the trip!
Oh no and great, we have a Legoland here and it's pretty good for the under 10's but then we're not used to WDW standards here :rotfl2:

School starts tomorrow for DS and Tink will start K on Thursday. DS is going to be in 3rd grade... yikes! I am really hoping to stop by a lot more after school starts! I miss you all so much!
Good luck to both of them and to you too

My class actually starts today. We had open house last week, but today I get to spend time with my little friends. :lovestruc They were so cute last week. It's pouring, so I hope I still think that at the end of the day!
Good luck and it's pouring here too!!!

JO: You are not boring. We love to hear about your walking, golfing and not drinking tea. :)
:rotfl2: Thanks and yikes on the car!!!

Well my baby is officially a second grader. He was excitd but nervous. I got to meet his teacher and if first impressions are any indication, it is going to be a good year:woohoo:
Hope he had fun!

Apparently, we are SO ready for a non-Disney trip! :rotfl:
Well you do go to WDW a lot :rotfl2:

Jo- Your life may be boring, but your accent makes everything sound adorable, so we want you to continue to post. ;)
Awwww so when you read my posts do you read them with a British accent? :rotfl2:

Work has been brutal !!! I worked all day saturday at my regular job, then a double at my second job on Sunday and yet another 9 hours yesterday , only to have to be in at 6 am at regular jiob today due to short staff issues !!!! Now I can't find anyone to come in at 6 am tomorrow soooo I am stuck again !! I just put in 14 hours and now have to go back again !!:sad2:At least my one staff is back after surgery and it was heaven to have him back and cracking the whip!!!!
Yikes Rosie, you will definitely need this trip!

How's that for an update!
Great except for one thing....... where was your update? :rotfl:

Off today and still in PJs! (which frightened the man who actually showed up to work on my driveway today!)
:rotfl2:

Today was the boys' first full day of school and Gus is already pulling the "tummy ache" can't go to school carp. UGH!
Oh no, we haven't had that one here for a while, hope it's just first day nerves

It's pouring here today, maybe I'll see Dawn float past soon ;) :rotfl:

Yesterday I won another prize, I know I'm getting boring sorry.... this time it was a £50/$75 for a butchers at a local garden centre so that'll buy me lots of steaks etc I have to meet the lady in a few weeks for a cream tea (don't start on the tea bit :rolleyes1) and to have my photo taken for the website  But hey it's worth it for a prize :thumbsup2

Tomorrow I'm playing in an Open at another club so fingers crossed that a) it stops raining and b) I play well!!!
