Team Focker Watch: Lucky Number 13!

Hey all! I swore I checked in yesterday:confused3 It was a crazy busy day. I was home "sick" with my ear infection. Jim went with Jimmy on the end of summer camp picnic. While they were there I cleaned the entire 1st floor and then the basement.

Last night was our outdoor movie night. We watched Night at the Meseum - Battle for the Smithsonian. Well, the parents watched and chatted...the kids ran around and played! There were a total of about 35 people here (kids and parents) Everyone seemed to had fun. It was nice because some of the parents that I don't usually get ot see from school came and I think I may have gotten some of them to volunteer through the year:thumbsup2

Today I went to get the rest of Jimmy's brthday present. I told you we got him a camera right? Well I got got a case for it and a couple of bionicles and he is done. Just have to wrap it:thumbsup2 He realy does take some nice pictures and I think he is going to love this!

Now I am cooking dinner.

Otherwise it has been a pajama day for Jimmy. He is tired after last night. I think it will be early to bed tonight:banana:

Hope you are all having a great weekend!:goodvibes

Add a few other things and yes. :lmao: But I'm glad I did both. :thumbsup2
What else

Off to DC for the weekend in the morning Chat when I get back !!Have a good weekend !!
Have fun :wave2:

How's your ear now? Glad you had a fun time, was the movie at your house? Jimmy's present sounds great, I'm sure he'll love it :thumbsup2

We had a good weekend, my cousin was very surprised at her party which was great. It was a bit of a mixture with singing, guitar playing and even somebody on the bongos :rotfl2: At one point all the family were told they had to go on stage to sing a Beatles song then do knees up Mother Brown :rotfl2: (Rosie, remember knees up Mother Brown?!!!) Then a disco. My cousin runs a singing/dancing/acting school so that's why people did stuff. I'm very tired now as we didn't go to bed till after 1am and I hadn't slept much the night before as I had to be up early for the plumber :sad2: I'm getting old :rotfl2:

Jess is playing golf in a competition on Tuesday and her and David were looking at the holes on the net, well they clicked on the diary and it didn't have her comp listed. Thank goodness they did as I'd got the wrong course, I thought she was playing at Mid-blahblahblah but it's West-blahblahblah :rotfl: I would have gone to totally the wrong place

A bit better thanks! Yes the party was here :faint:

Evenin everyone. Landry day today. Otherwise it has been a lazy day. Jim went to the Apple store o see if we could get thi old Mac updated fo Jmm to use. They ouldn't even get it to turn on:rotfl2: They just kept it and will recycle it. Hey, it is out of my house:thumbsup2

This is a busy week for us. Tomorrow I am back to wrk ad Jimmy is going to camp. He has a 4pm therapist appointment and then I have a 7pm Home and School Meeting.

Tuesday Jmmy has a dentist appointment and then he and Jim will pic up the cupcake we ordered for him to tae to camp on Wednesday for his birthday. We can't mke cupcakes to send in because they can't guarantee we won't use nuts. The one grocery store around here does make hat guarantee, so we got them there.

Wednesday is Jimmy's Birthday. My baby is 7:sad1:. So he will go to camp and then teinlaws are coming over for dinner and to ig happy birthday.

Friday we have the new parent tea at school. We are volunteeing. It is actually a ruse toget Jimmy to meet his teacher before school starts;)

Then on Saturday is his friend birthday party at the zoo. Everyone lae pray for no rain on Saturday:flower3:

Morning! We had a fun, interesting weekend. First, Leo helped me rearrange the living room, and we LOVE the new configuration! :thumbsup2 Then I realized that by moving the huge armoire housing the TV, etc., I revealed my cheat: when I painted, I painted around the armoire, so there was a patch of unpainted wall left behind. So after an hour of searching, I unearthed the leftover paint, fixed it up, changed out some artwork, added a shelf in my bedroom and - VOILA! A fresh new look for my home. :cool1:

I still haven't booked our Grand Canyon nights... I can't make a decision! I have, however, determined that we will fly out, rent a car, and see some other sights, instead of seeing a lot of Texas. ;) We'll need to narrow it down, but some ideas that we all like are: Monument Valley, Arches Nat'l. Park, Bryce Canyon, Zion Nat'l. Park, Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon, Williams, AZ, Jerome, AZ, Antelope Canyon, Hubbel Trading Post, and Petrified Forest/ Painted Dessert Nat'l. Parks.

I've been cutting my grocery bills by a lot the past few weeks, and I'm thinking I may use that for an overnight escape to WDW Labor Day Wknd. We'll see.

That's all for me. Happy Monday all! :grouphug:

Good thing you kept the paint around:lmao:

How have you been doing this. I have been using coupons but it still doesn't seem to be enough, even though Jim calls me the coupon queen:)
+++++++++++++++++

Hey all! Happy Monday. Jimmy woke up saying his throat hurt so we kept him home from camp and Jim is taking him to the doctor. We suspect strep...again:sad2: One freaking back at camp swimming and he got it again:headache:

I feel bad becasue today would have been Jim's last day to himself before he has to go back to work. He goes back Wednesday, but Jimmy has a dentist appointment tomorrow, so he wasn't going to camp anyway. AFter he sees the doctor, and if it is strep, he is going to call the dentist and see if they still want to see him:confused3

Tonight is our first Home and School meeting. THis is sort of the pre-school meeting to get dates and stuff together.

Did I tell you that I am now the co-chair for the book fair:scared1: (Hi CE :wave2:):lmao:

That's all from me. Hope you all have a great day. Will try and check back in at lunch time!:goodvibes

Will FLying and renting a car give you more time?
Lots more - which was really the deciding factor. If we drove, it would mean 3 days there and 3 days back... and I can only take a total of 2 weeks off.
How have you been doing this. I have been using coupons but it still doesn't seem to be enough, even though Jim calls me the coupon queen:)
Ready? Self-imposed starvation diet! :rotfl2: Not quite; but thanks to my stupid thyroid meds, my weight's up and on the meds it's next to impossible to drop weight. The only thing that works is a low, low carb diet. So no treats, no breads, no booze. That dropped it by around $25-50 a week! And I'm down a couple pounds, so it's working, too. :thumbsup2

Eeek, what were you thinking?! ;)

Hey friends---I'm having a pity party today so you all are welcome to join me!

The surgery went well....and at least I'm not throwing up which is usual....but I can't taste anything cause they must have nicked my taste bud nerve....and my ear feels like the pressure you get when you are at the top of a mountain....except it won't pop.

The surgeon had to improvise a little---he was supposed to attach the new prosthetic bone to the old foot plate bone.....but the old bone was still "alive" so he couldn't drill into it....so it kinda had to lodge the new bone in there somehow. We won't know if it worked till I go back in 3 weeks. If it didn't work, I'm no worse off though, cause the bone he removed was definitely dead.

So I'm here in my PJs--can't lift anything over 5 pounds and can't move head around. My cats are ticked and want me to pick them up!

At least I don't have to do laundry!:laundy:

Look out! Doxy's in da house!

I'll bet nobody even missed me with all these fabulous trip reports going on!!!:snooty:

Sorry for the update absence, looks like ya'll did OK! I'll be getting back into the swing of things now, I think.

TE >> I hope your ear is fixed. Jeez, it sounded like a scary operation to me. Love the Italy/Germany report.

Taz >> How is Kyle? I saw that he broke his arm. I am so ready for October to be here!!

V >> When are you going to the Grand Canyon? I caught that you couldn't make up your mind about the specific area. Hey, why don't you save some of that lunch money for a weekend during Ip-Dip???? I'd love to meet you - Just sayin'!!:rolleyes1

Angela >> How's that pool??? How is Mitch?? You too - I'll be at WDW, POR from October 19th to the 26th. Do you think you can swing a visit?? My plan is pretty open.

CE >> So you'll have September to yourself. I'm sure you will be able to get a lot more done! Just kidding. Can you do the boating without D??
Before you know it, it will be time to ground it.

JO >> Your cuz's B-day sounded fabulous. Throw in a little mud wrestling and you would've had a regular Redneck Jamboree!!
smiley_farmer.gif

Kat >> I sent you a text about the new additions to your family!!

Mo >> I told a friend about all the great goodies. She was drooling. Between you and TE I'll definitely know where to go should I ever make it over yonder!

JANET >> How's the ear?? I love the Williamsburg report. It looks like something I would love to do. My bucket list is so large. Great pictures!!

Hello to everyone else!!!!! I have missed you all!

Things were very busy. I've got the deck done:

Home002-1.jpg

Of course the weeds had to be let go. I'm going to try to remedy that this next couple of days.

I've started a PTR at Enchanted:
Redneck Chronicles III: The "Un-Plan"
You are welcome to take a gander.

Doug is doing well. He finished his physical therapy this month. (Insurance only allows 30 visits.) He has a list of exercises to do. He has been riding the stationary bike.

His last visit with the doctor was good. Apparently things on the MRI are looking better. He hasn't had any difficulty with the chemotherapy other than a bit of fatigue 4 - 5 days after a treatment. He has chemo. every 3 weeks. The doctor said if this next MRI, Sept. 16th, looks good, we may stretch the treatments to 4 weeks apart. That will work out well for out upcoming trip to WDW.

I am renting an ECV for him at WDW. I know he will get tired. I don't think standing in the lines will bother him. Walking a lot still tires him out though. I told him he needs to practice some more on the Walmart scooters. I don't want to be embarrassed at the parks. I'd love to get a sign made to put on the back of the scooter that reads, "Caution: Student Driver!" I'm sure he would not see the humor in it.

I absolutely can not wait to see some of the peeps that I have been chatting with at the Ip-Dip meet. Plus, I really need a vacation. This one will be at a slower pace due to Doug's issues. I think that will be nice. He will make me slow down so that now I will see some of the things I have been missing.

I am still a busy beaver with the little things around the house and normal yearly appt. BTW, I just got bi-focals! At work I was having trouble reading some of the smaller fonts. They are not strong - +1, but it has helped.

Took some of the furbabies in for their annuals. Ember, 1 of my cats, is at the vet right now having her teeth cleaned. I get to pick her up in a couple of hours. (Checkbook in hand, of course.)

I have to send a check to Uncle Sam for Doug's money. I don't want to owe a huge amount in taxes at the end of the year so I am pre-paying.

I'm 49 days away from my trip. Should I start packing??;)

I get to work OT on Labor Day weekend. Plus some more on the 3rd weekend of Sept. My anniversary is the 12th. We aren't doing anything special.

Well I think that's enough for now.

Have a good day. I promise to come back soon!

Hey I actually do that that one :snooty: :rotfl2:

Today is a holiday and we met friends for a coffee and then played some golf. It was actually sunny too :thumbsup2

Hi my little Disney lovers! :goodvibes Looky at my ticker! I'm starting to get excited now that the kids are in school and life will hopefully become a little less complicated. (Who am I kidding?! It's just busy in a different ways) :rolleyes1

The kids started school last week and everyone seems pretty happy. We had bus drama the first day with a mean kid, but that's been solved, and A's been happy every day since. :thumbsup2

Dance is time consuming, like normal. Between both of the girls, we're at dance 3 nights a week and usally a couple of hours on the weekend. Thank goodness they love it so much. Next week B's team has rookie kidnap, which we are in charge of. Essentially, we wake up super early and surprise the girls. We dress them up according to our squad name and take them to team practice. Then we all have breakfast together and the rookies model their crazy outfits.

The week after that is B's team's dance clinic. I'm in charge of making 100 awards and running the snack booth. Have I said thank goodness they love it yet? :rotfl: The officers get to teach the K and 1st graders a dance and do a craft with them. B's really good with kids, so I think she'll like that.

She's got a lot of responsibilities this year that will grow her as a person, I think. She also will hold squad practices once a month with the line officer on her squad. She is in charge of newsletters and the facebook page too. I'm so proud of her coming out of her shell and speaking in front the team, etc.

C was awarded the Outstanding Rookie award on her 4th-6th grade team. I'm so proud. They have both have grown a lot as dancers and girls this year. :lovestruc

A's playing soccer this fall again, so that'll fill 2 nights a week.

I'd better run and pick up C and drop B at dance. I'll try to check in again later!

Hi, all!

Kristel, so glad to see you. Lovely deck, glad Doug's doing well.

V, glad you like the new look of the house! How fun - and funny how small changes can make you like your house again. ;)

Janet, glad the party was fun, hope Jimmy's OK. Present sounds great!

Jo, your party sounds fun, too - hope you had a nice holiday today. So, are the girls home then?

Rosie, glad you're back safe and sound!

Dawn, you're definitely taking my "busy" crown... :faint: Glad the school stuff is going well, though.

TE, hope the surgery works, and definitely give yourself a hug and a drink from me.

Kat, the kitties are so cute. :)

Um, have I forgotten anyone? If so, so sorry. :flower3:

********************************************************
Crazy days around here. We went to the boat on Saturday and had a kind of frustrating day - the lake was just packed. We had near record high temps and with the kind of "last hurrah" mentality, well... We finally decided to meet John & the girls (Deb was flying) for dinner - they drove from their lake house and we went on the boat. Dave had checked our night-time required lights before dinner, but AFTER dinner the front lights weren't working. Aside from being illegal to run without them, it's pretty stupid. So, we ended up having to call Marine Patrol to get permission to leave the boat at the public docks overnight (normally not at all allowed) and with that, since John had asked 4-5 times, we just ended up having him come back, take me to the car, then driving and staying at their lake house - a 25 minute drive to get the boat in the daytime, rather than the 75 minutes from our house.

So, that put us on the boat early Sunday again - John had friends coming up and we had to get the boat out of the public docks... We maybe got home at 9:00 last night, and we hadn't of course had supplies for lunch or drinks or snacks or whatever. Sigh.

Then, I had called a friend on Saturday to see if she and her kids wanted to come up today, and they did, so we went back today. :faint: We had a total ball, but I'm just completely wiped out. And, we're looking at 96 for a high tomorrow  and so we may go to the boat again, because really, what are we going to do here in that heat??? Still, the thought of packing everything up again, etc. sounds awful right now. Hopefully we will at least feel like we can make it a shorter day if we go.

Dave has to go to work for a meeting on Wed. and then the kids start school Thursday, so that's really it - especially with his "let's be gone all month" schedule. ;) (Thanks for all the sympathy, by the way...:grouphug:)

And, Hurricane Earl might kill the long weekend up here for us (I'm far enough inland to just make it windy and rainy, but still...) so next weekend, boating is likely out. ;)

OK, it's nearly 1:00, but since we've just been home for 2 hours I'm still doing little errand stuff. But, I need to go to bed.

Hopefully everyone had a good weekend, and those back at work and school today had a good start to the week. :)

Glad you had fun!

Janet, glad the party was fun, hope Jimmy's OK. Present sounds great!

He is fine, thanks. Went back to camp today.

Crazy days around here.

Another one with the gift for the understatement:lmao:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Good morning all! Not much happening here. Jimmy went back to camp today. I am at work. Jim is going to get his back to school haircut and then picking up the cupcakes for Jimmy to take to school tomorrow for his birthday. We also ordered a small cake to sing happy birthday when his parents are over for dinner tomorrow night!

Tonight I have to wrap his gifts. Other than that, not much going on.

Happy Tuesday:hug:

Morning all! And special "HI!" to Kristel - it's good to see you!

I finally went to book our Grand Canyon nights for next summer... and found that I'd waited too long to get either our first or second choice. :headache: I'll keep trying, but the #3 option isn't bad, either.

Hey everyone! Just a quickie hello from me.

Lots to do today and if these cats wouldn't wake me up before the alarm it would be great. LOL.

Just spending a lotta time with the babies and KC, it's been nice. I have a few interviews lined up for possible part time work this week , so i'm excited about that. And plans to hit the Olive Garden's never ending pasta bowl with some friends Thurs night.

Hope everyone's great!

Hi again!

Get it and put it on when he isn't looking:rolleyes1

I might just have to make one. We are going to the MNSSHP. I am in the process of looking for some battery operated lights to hang on the scooter. I saw some cute ones online but I'd rather not pay shipping on very few items. So I'll check out the local vendors - ie, Wallyworld, Menards, etc.

KRISTEL!!!!! So good to see you  Your deck looks good, you have been busy and I'm so pleased about Doug

Today is a holiday and we met friends for a coffee and then played some golf. It was actually sunny too.

It sounds like you did enjoy it! Are you ready for WDW???

Hi, all!

Kristel, so glad to see you. Lovely deck, glad Doug's doing well.

OOOO that sux about the boat lights. The heat is terrible here again also. We had a nice cool down for about a week. It has been in the 90's again. I hope that you will be OK during Earl. Keep us updated so we don't worry.

Morning all! And special "HI!" to Kristel - it's good to see you!

Thanks!! Dang it. That always happens to me. I see something, have to think about it and by the time I've made up my mind it's gone or it's not on sale any more! I hope you get your 3rd option and it all works out!

Hey back at you! Good luck with the interviews! Have fun with the kitties and friends!

Doug and I went shopping today. I think we looked more than shopped. I had to get my hair cut so he browsed the mall while I did that. I want a new GPS for my car so he looked in Radio Shack. Nothing much there, I guess. I found the one I want at Best Buy. He'll get it later for me.

Bed, Bath and Beyond had a few items that we needed. I love that store. We searched for Halloween lights at 'Pig' Lots. (That's what we call Big Lots.) No dice. Checked out Lowe's. We came away from there with some stair railing parts for our basement stairs. Let's just say poor old Dougie was a bit pooped when we were done.

I'm going to get outside and weed whack in a little while. It's just too darn hot right now.

Anyone watch the NJ girls last night?
:rotfl2:
I love it!!!! Caroline is my hero! I need a shirt with her face on it that says, " Can I have your autograph!"
:lmao:

I'll be out of the office for 3 nights.
Be good!!!

I finally went to book our Grand Canyon nights for next summer... and found that I'd waited too long to get either our first or second choice. :headache: I'll keep trying, but the #3 option isn't bad, either.

I'm glad it's not bad, but good luck with keeping on trying!

Hey everyone! Just a quickie hello from me.

Hello right back at ya! :)

We had a great time in DC !!

Excellent!

Hey its 2:00, I am finally getting to take a lunch break, so I thought I'd check in. Hope everyone is having a good day:goodvibes

Hope yours was good, too!

OOOO that sux about the boat lights. The heat is terrible here again also. We had a nice cool down for about a week. It has been in the 90's again. I hope that you will be OK during Earl. Keep us updated so we don't worry.

Sure, but it doesn't look too bad at this point. Still a lot of "ifs" about it - they're now only saying 50% chance of rain on Friday, then just a big cool front for the weekend after that. We're heading to our neighbor's lake house for a cookout on Sunday, where the high is now forecast for 68. Woohoo. :rotfl2:

**************************************************
Just a gorgeous easy day on the lake once again. This is pretty much it for the swimming, etc. This coming weekend's cold for the boat, then D's gone until 10/1. We'll still go up after that to "leaf peep" or whatever, but the jumping in is likely over. ;)

D's got his annual medical training tomorrow at the office (reminders on using CPR, the defib thing, etc.) and so the boys and I will do a little prep work for school on Thursday. It's supposed to be 97 tomorrow and Thursday - I do feel a bit bad for the kids having to go in that heat - our schools, of course, are not air conditioned...

Anyway... the only other thing I can think of is that when we were pulling into our driveway tonight, we saw a fox!

I should be around some tomorrow, unless we get very errand-happy out of the house. Have a good start, at any rate, and I'll check back later! :grouphug:
