Here are a few photos from the tulip festival today. I took over 300 so I am just posting a random sampling. :cutie:

There was an international pavilion set-up where about 20 countries had their own sections where they sold samplings of their local food and select drinks. They also had little shops set up.

Well I'm sure you all are sick of looking at tulips now. ;)

Just before I go, I'm going to the funeral of my kinda friend tomorrow, so sad as she was so young and leaves an 11 y/o DD :sad1:

I'm sorry, Jo. :hug:

Well I actually did something fun today (meaning not the usual same old same old). Mom ditched work today and we drove up to Ottawa for the annual Tulip festival. It was really fun and the flower were beautiful. There was even a Food and Wine festival type event that was going on. Once I have the pictures uploaded I'll post some here.

Lessa, this sounds like so much fun. :) Tulips are my favorite flowers, too. :goodvibes Pictures, please! :hug:

So Namath went back to the doggie allergist today that we have been going to and the shots are definately helping his allergies:yay: But boy I hate having to do those injections:scared1:
I'm so glad! :cool1:

Last night I was standing in line at MK for the bus that takes you to POP and saw this lady with a black backpack. It had a lgmh that said Team Focker Watch on it. So I stopped her and she said a friend let her borrow the bag. She is not a disser.

Anyone know this lady?:confused3

Hmm, one of my local friends is there now, but I didn't give her a bag. Which reminds me of a story - see below...

WELCOME BACK! :goodvibes

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, as we know since I was in TN, last week was NH's spring break. I had one of my playgroup moms go last week - she's A - and one decided to buck the flight prices and take her twins out of kindergarten this week instead. We'll call her S. The two of them are very close.
The one that went last week, A, didn't believe a word of what we said about planning. :rolleyes: And her DH refused to stay on property, because "it's too expensive" - never mind that they then also rented a car, paid for parking, etc.
At any rate, I didn't talk to A, but I talked to S on Friday before she left on Saturday. She said A was having a ball, but that A's DH had to get on the phone and admit "You were all right, I was wrong."
A's DD had gone to BBB and the FGiT informed her that the DD had lice. :scared: This was several days in, so very likely from the off property hotel. A's DH then insisted on moving to WDW property.
What did he choose?
The Beach Club! So much for money saving! :rotfl:
At any rate, glad to know he admitted that we were right. :snooty: :rotfl: And, S called two nights ago, just to be sure that she didn't need park tix to go to DTD (and I thought I'd trained her so well... :rolleyes1 ) and she said they were having a marvelous time. :banana:
But I loaned neither of them my black bag.
Babbling again, go figure. :upsidedow
My theory is that the black bag is stolen. :cool2:
Lessa! Thoseare so gorgeous! I would have loved to have been there! All those tulips and the countries... It's a homeschooling dream!!! :laughing:
Jo- I'm sorry you're having to go through this right now. :hug: You're poor friend's daughter... :sad1:
Sure, it's my first free night in weeks, and everyone's stopped chatting. :headache: :rotfl:
Well, I'm watching PotC on the new TV - we didn't upgrade to a Blu Ray, but the new surround sound receiver is supposed to "upconvert" any normal DVD's to "near" HD quality. PotC looks GOOD in near HD on my giant TV. :lovestruc
TE, how's the new stuff?
Slate, your light is on... How are you? :goodvibes
/
Hi Tanya! Your light is on, too! :goodvibes
Just curious, do you say "Tan(like the color) -ya" or "Tahnya"?
popcorn::
Welcome back to suckality.
Thanks:rotfl2:
Hi, T2! Welcome home! :goodvibes
The trip was very nice, which is good for my stress levels, but bad for storytelling! :rolleyes1
The only thing that was even slightly weird was that you know how I said we always are hungry there? So I took lots of snacks...
Well, we came back from a boat ride around 6:00 one night, and dinner still needed cooking, so we got the snacks out.
My MIL: "Well, I was going to put out appetizers, but apparently you just want pretzels."
Mind you, her "appetizers" were a tiny bowl of carrots and celery, nuts (which I hate and the boys won't eat) and chilled shrimp (which BIL, SIL, boys and I all hate). The carrots were gone in minutes, though. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:
We can't win.
:rotfl:
OMG!!glad you did have a good time tho
Hey T2!!!
Welcome back! Now link us up to the TR!
...you have started it right????
...cause you know it's a Focker tradition to start your TR BEFORE you start your laundry!
...emailing you Dawn. :hug:
In case you forgot Im still very slowly working on our Oct TR.Not looking good for a new one:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
In case you're curious, it takes 20 minutes for two adults to get three little boys dressed in hockey gear, especially when we have to keep going after our newly-running toddler, who is already an expert escape artist. Note to self: make sure all three boys go potty BEFORE dressing them in gear. If one has to go, they all magically have to go. And then, make sure protective undergarment is not pinching anything before dressing them the rest of the way.
my DS is 5 will be 6 in a few weeks.He plays ice hockey too and has finally learned to get all his "stuff" on himself and all I have to do is the skates:banana: :banana: ...
Here's the final deal
IMG_1822.jpg
Looks good CE:thumbsup2
Yep, his chin doesn't look too bad, and he says is doesn't hurt. :thumbsup2 BUT... he's now got a head-to-toe rash. Near as we can tell, he's allergic to the stupid surgical glue! It never ends. :headache:
Welcome to my world.
try some benedryl(if he can take that), maybe that will help. Im not sure if that stuff comes off easily. :confused3 Im glad it at least doesnt hurt him.
Janet-Great poem
I took the mom quiz
IM a mom expert:cool1: :cool1: (although Im not sure how on some days:confused3 )
You’re A Mom Expert!
You are the mom of all moms with years of experience (along with several added inches) under your belt.
You can look forward to days when the school bus will pull up to your driveway, finally giving you time to paint your nails, take a long hot shower (actually shaving both legs at once), and sip your morning coffee in peace and quiet.
Enjoy this season of motherhood, and be sure to look for a first-time mom who could use your seasoned advice!
BTW I have N E V E R caught puke in my hands nor will I ever.DS2 threw up 2 times on our flight home from Florida(bad turbulance) and I very gently shoved his head in a plastic bag:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Great pics LESSA
OMG! So I finished my Powerpoint thingamacrapper yesterday, but you know me, I had to tweak it some more. Well I royaly screwed it up and had to spend the last 3 hours fixing it! :headache: All I'm saying is I better get an A! :rolleyes:
Sounds like a great day! Those pictures are beautiful!!!!!!!!!
Kat - I remember hearing horror stories of people looking for an apartment in NYC, including reading the obits to find an available apartment. Is it still that bad?
LOL It's pretty bad! My issue is the prices of the apartments. All we want is a one bedroom with a bedroom big enough for our queen size bed and a decent kitchen for em to cook in with some counter space. This is near impossible for less than $1200 a month, not including utilities. Crazy!!!!
oh slatey...
check out this on the budget board
Such the enabler.....:rolleyes1 I am NOT headed over there myself...
~~~~~~~~~~~~

We're off tomorrow so see the DIS peoples again, in the evening. I'm happy to get out of the house and we have plans for a nice affordable dinner and dessert.

I got my blood work back from the Dr's appointment last week and everything is good except my carbs are too high so she told em to switch to brown rice instead. Not so bad. And by next week I'll have the disability paperwork in my hands, now they just need to send me the date of the hearing!

Anyone else still up?? I'm surfing around while KC plays GTA4.

Those tulips are absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately it's not cold enough for them to grow here. :sad2:

Sounds good Kat :thumbsup2

Where's Katt? She's normally here by now????

Jess got upset last night, they've recently done tests at school and in English she got a really good result, only her and 1 other girl got that score, well first she came in saying that I will be so proud of her and the next minute she says some other girls were being nasty and calling her a geek :mad: I said it's because they're jealous etc and to ignore them, girls :headache: But she was right I was proud of her :rotfl2:

My theory is that the black bag is stolen. :cool2:
Either that or she didn't want to meet me. I don't know.

:confused3 Ok, how come we didn't know you were going to WDW? Or did we? :confused:
I'm sure I mentioned it. Mr Diz had a conference in Orlando on Monday and Tuesday, so we all drove up on Saturday. We stayed at the hotel where the conference was. While he worked on Mon and Tues I took the kids to the parks.
Not my bag, did she not tell you a name????

Nope. I asked her what her disboards name is and she said, "Oh, this is not my bag. I borrowed it from a friend." Then the line started moving and she made it on the next bus and I did not.

Lessa - love the photos

Ce - love the new tv and stand. Two weeks ago we bought a tv stand from Ikea for our. It is a dark wood and we added a door to it that you can put fabric in the glass to customize the look. I really like it. I love going to Ikea to look around and we love to eat at their cafe.

Here are some highlights from our WDW trip.

Saturday - we got to MK around 5:00 and they were open until 11:00. Got our Annual Passes and headed to Columbia Harbor House to eat. Very disappointed that CHA no longer has the Starboard sandwich. It is a turkey sandwich with brocolli slaw on it and delicious. I told the CM that I couldn't believe they got rid of my fave sandwich and he said he has been hearing that a lot. I ate the Tuna Sandwich because V said it was so good. It was good, but not as good as the Starboard.

Next we rode Haunted Mansion. First time since the refurbishment. It is Mr Diz's fave ride.

I considered riding Splash Mountain with ds, but chickened out. One day I will get the courage to get on that. Anyway - I was so glad I didn't because it was dark and while they were on the ride, it stopped for about 15 minutes. Turns out some teenagers jumped out of their boat, which is why they shut it down.

Sunday we went to Animal Kingdom. We rode EE several times. We had to leave at 4:00 because Mr Diz had to go to the hotel to register for his conference. After he registered we went to DTD and ate at Earl of Sandwich.

WOW! You guys are SO chatty!

I was only gone for 24 hours!

Dh's bday was great! :goodvibes Thanks for all the wishes (over on Weiner board and here....) We went to see Iron Man last night. It was so great! And I just kept thinking all the way home how glad I am to see Robert Downey Jr. back in charge of his life. :thumbsup2 I really am excited when someone beats addiction!!!

V: I have owned that book for YEARS! Did you read his first book, The Gift of Fear? It's for adults but same premise. It has TOTALLY changed how I live my life. I am NOT afraid to say something to protect myself now. And, because I've been quoting it to my DH for years now, whenever either of us has "that feeling" we refer to it as "Gift of Fear-sense." No explanations necessary. ;) By the way, I am the mom of two boys (15/10) and I have NO ISSUE at all bringing my 10 year old into the ladies room. IF anyone ever dared to say anything (and they have NEVER) I would simply tell them, "I am a woman alone, with this little boy and unless you want me in the MEN'S room with him, this is where we'll stay"

But, just so you know, no one has ever said anything. In fact, a woman (about 65 or 70) once told me, "you are right to bring him in here. It's a scary world." :thumbsup2

Oh, and Lessa, gorgeous pics! I love tulips!!!
