As we know, it's almost Mother's Day....well, except for Jo who had in it March. :confused3

So---let's find some mom quizzes for us!

What kind of mom are you?

You’re A Mom Pro!

You have several years of experience at this mothering gig, and are wondering when the raise will kick in or when you can clock out and get some rest.

The good news is, although there may not be a pay raise, the memories you’re gaining as you share in your children’s lives are priceless--worth more than any amount of money.

I find this :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I
"Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from a friend who
Heard it from another..."
You been messin around. :laughing:

Ok, the original Mother-of-the-Year :rolleyes: has arrived! I hear I need to take a quiz???

ETA: I got "You're Probably Not a Mom Yet"...wonder if there's a Wife-of-the-Year one...Betcha I'd get "World's greatest ex-wife...Current wife...not so much...":lmao:

:rotfl2:

So, CE..........you're pregnant???

hey everyone........did you hear that CE is pregnant????

CE:confused3 ;)

BTW ladies, you may want to update your siggies w/ the current Wienerfest PTR. ;)

I'll get to it...eventually:thumbsup2

Just for a change I played golf today, I don't normally play on Wednesdays as David has the morning off but it was a knock out competition and the lady could only play today. Anyway I won :yay: There are 18 holes and you either win, lose or draw each hole and I won quite easily, I won 6 and 5 which means that I had won 6 more holes than her and as there were only 5 holes left to play I won!!!!

Glad you got to do something different Jo:rolleyes1

Congrats on the win:woohoo:

For All of Us Moms:goodvibes

Before I was a Mom,
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind
and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held down a screaming child
so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night
watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because
I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small
could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom,
I didn't know the feeling of
having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond
between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night
every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderment
or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much,
before I was a Mom.

Hey there! Welcome! I am Mel. I am 36 yrs old. I have a great DH, and two great boys (15 and 10) We live in Michigan. Originally we're from Boston, MA. But, we still call Peoria, IL home since we lived there for a few years! :confused3

My MIL is an absolute nutcase. She never EVER treats me like a human being and she once told me that "I am not who she would have chosen for DH, but she'd live with his decision."

Yeah. She makes me nuts.

Glad you came by. Don't let us scare you. We're real nice. :rotfl:

MEL:banana:

Yep, his chin doesn't look too bad, and he says is doesn't hurt. :thumbsup2 BUT... he's now got a head-to-toe rash. Near as we can tell, he's allergic to the stupid surgical glue! It never ends. :headache:
Oh No:hug:

I really like the cabinet!!!! Thats the one thing about KC getting a new TV, we have an old unit with only space for a reg TV and I think a flat screen would look retarded in the space....but I LOVE my ent center.

it's really old and a lot less cluttered now than the pic makes it look...ignore the mess look at the piece of furniture! :thumbsup2

hey all, been busy, didn't have chance to get online yest. i thought they changed the dining plan and it did not include app or tip. anyone know? we're going in sept for free dining., never had dining before. already booked adr's , although i hate having everything so planned. we always like to just do what feels right for the day!! we'll still have a blast though. don't have time to mulit quote. so a general good day to all :) it's actually bright and sunny here, so i'm going to play outside with my 2yr old. then off to a doctor appt for my dd (7). maybe i'll have time this evening to chat!!

You are learning the ways of the DIS now! :goodvibes I get about 80% of my WDW knowledge from these here fine boards!

Hi Fockers! Man, you are CHAT-TAY today!
My MIL is an absolute nutcase. She never EVER treats me like a human being and she once told me that "I am not who she would have chosen for DH, but she'd live with his decision."

Yeah. She makes me nuts.

My MIL likes me but I know deep down she's mad because I'm white. She makes backhanded jokes about other hispanic people she knows or is related to that married white people...she's a piece of work. Luckily we don't have to see them too often. FIL is a retired navy seal and it a pretty intimidating guy that I never know what to say to.

Because her hubby is home on Wednesdays; it's her sneezing day.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5 whole pages...no slackers today!
I am just hanging around today, need to get to the market for some veggies to make chili tonight and I might go short shopping for August. I need some denim shorts. No I actually need them, I only own like 3 pairs of shorts! What I don't need are the 2 more messenger bags i bought on ebay... yes I'm Kat & I'm addicted to purses!
Anyways have a good one all!
My contribution for Mother's Day....
I'm reading the most amazing book and want to share! It's Protecting the Gift: Keeping Children and Teenagers Safe (and Parents Sane) by Gavin De Becker. It was recommended by a fellow DISer on a heated CB thread about what age is the "right" age to allow boys to use the mens' room by themselves.
The basic gist of the book is that our instinct and intuition are never wrong; we just need to learn how to act on them instead of trying to rationalize legitmate fear away. In so-doing, we stop worrying about all the crap we can't control and focus on reacting to those things we can and should. Great concepts, but as an added bonus, he's freaking hysterical! :thumbsup2
I have to say, my "gut feelings" have nver, ever been wrong. But I haven't always acted on them, much to my detriment. :guilty:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As for Leo, he's receiving a course of Benydryl for his itchies. Gramma the nurse said there's no good way to get the surgical glue off; as long as the Benydryl is effective, we may as well wait it out the week we have to leave it be. But I'll be sure to include it as a possible allergy in future medical charts.

We will be at Fockerfest as well. At first he thought I was crazy but yesterday at Disney he was saying that since I didn't have on lime green or my LGMH, how would other Fockers know who I was? :goodvibes

It's been a gorgeous day here, we're going through a heat wave at the moment :goodvibes Ellies been to trampolining and Jess is at Guides so it's busy busy as always!

Someone just sent me this joke and it made me giggle...

Morris and his wife Esther went to the state fair every year, and every year Morris would say, 'Esther,I'd like to ride in that helicopter.'

Esther always replied, 'I know Morris, but that helicopter ride is fifty dollars, and fifty dollars is fifty dollars'

One year Esther and Morris went to the fair, and Morris said, 'Esther, I'm 85 years old. If I don't ride that helicopter, I might never get another chance.'

To this, Esther replied, 'Morris that helicopter ride is fifty dollars, and fifty dollars is fifty dollars.'

The pilot overheard the couple and said, 'Folks I'll make you a deal. I'll take the both of you for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and don't say a word I won't charge you a penny! But if you say one word it's fifty dollars.'

Morris and Esther agreed and up they went. The pilot did all kinds of fancy maneuvers, but not a word was heard. He did his daredevil tricks over and over again, but still not a word.

When they landed, the pilot turned to Morris and said, 'By golly, I did everything I could to get you to yell out, but you didn't. I'm impressed!'

Morris replied, 'Well, to tell you the truth, I almost said something when Esther fell out, but you know, fifty dollars is fifty dollars!'

TE, you need to wait for furniture more often, 'cause it's nice having you around all day. Even if you're getting me pregnant...

Boy, does THAT sound wrong. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I had this reply window open and have completely forgotten what I was going to say. :confused3 :rotfl2: My neighbor came by to borrow eggs. And she may take or may know someone to take my old entertainment center. :thumbsup2

Oh, Kat, I like yours, too. It's vaguely like my old one in configuration. :thumbsup2

You naughty, naughty girl! See any Croc deals? :hyper:
Step away from the Crocs s'late! :rotfl:
OMG, it's my own personal Nirvana!!!! :faint:
Married to my DH Mitch, who is a pharmacist, V, let me know if I can ask him anything for you,
:thumbsup2
So what age did they come up with?
They didn't... at least by the time I moved out of the fray. Seriously, it was scary in there! Ages ranged from as low as 5 to as high as, (ready for this?)... 14!!!!!! :scared1:

:lmao: :lmao: Are you trying to get me fired?! My sides are splitting!

Ack! I was trying to remember all my responses, but after 4 pages, I think I forgot half of them!!! :confused3

TE- I saw you and Janet stirring up trouble on my TR. :rolleyes: The thing is, I forgot what we did in what order, so until I find my notes, I can't really do more. I guess I could get a lot more broad and just throw in a bunch of pics to make up for it. :upsidedow

Janet- Nice poem. :lovestruc

Angela! That's a TON of purses!!! :scared1:

Goofy- Long time no talky... How are you? :hug:

Jo- We've been making a castle out of boxes and paint, etc. today and I thought of you going to that wedding and posting the picture. So far we have a wall to put around the castle and a silo-type thing. It'll probably take all week to do, but it's fun!

V- Thanks for the extra hug! :goodvibes

CE- Congrats onthe pregnancy! :lmao:

I'm Pro-mom, which seems to mean I look frumpy and I don't vacuum my car out enough... :rotfl2:

Hi new Fockers! I'm Dawn, or HS, or HSM, or Homeschoolmama. I'm, obviously, a homeschool mom. I have three hunnies: A (DS5), B (DD10-11 in two weeks!), and C (DD6-7 in a month!)
I've been married to K for 12 years last week. :lovestruc

As for pics, I'll try to take some of the girls in their costumes today and tomorrow and post them. Better run... the kids are watching a movie and I'm trying to catch up on e-mail, etc. :headache:

You naughty, naughty girl! See any Croc deals? :hyper:

LOL. I bought some last week with T's shoebuy coupon. I wanna see a pic of all your crocs! I now have 2 pairs lol.

How awful that she treats you that way. :sad2:

Kat, I'm Angela and I'm addicted to purses too! You know purses and shoes always fit! They used to me better color coordinated but over time... And yes, I do change to match my outfit. Did I mention we don't have kids? :rolleyes1

Oh Kat :rotfl2: BTW any news on moving????

There just has been a lot of nothing out there!!!! we are trying to make sure KC cancels the too expensive insurance so we can get the $400 a month back and then we can look harder again for a new place. I may bite the bullet and go to a real estate agent.
