By the way, I am the mom of two boys (15/10) and I have NO ISSUE at all bringing my 10 year old into the ladies room. IF anyone ever dared to say anything (and they have NEVER) I would simply tell them, "I am a woman alone, with this little boy and unless you want me in the MEN'S room with him, this is where we'll stay"

But, just so you know, no one has ever said anything. In fact, a woman (about 65 or 70) once told me, "you are right to bring him in here. It's a scary world."

I let my ds7 go to the bathroom alone in Target while I waited out the door, but will not do it again. Two days later, a neighbor told me that her son was in that bathroom and came out crying because a man was in there waiting outside the stall and he got really scared. Thought the man was waiting for him.

My neice is 15. When she visited us last summer, her mom made us promise we wouldn't let her go to the bathroom alone when we were out in public. I was really surprised. My neice did not know her mom said this and everytime she would leave to go to the bathroom, I would need to change the baby's diaper.

This PTR report is a little thought provoking... especially with Mothers day
( here in USA) this Sunday. Our babies grow up soooo fast. I'd love another one.. but I am just too old to go through that again.. and when my OBGYN left for Georgia.. that sealed me having any more.

Jess got upset last night, they've recently done tests at school and in English she got a really good result, only her and 1 other girl got that score, well first she came in saying that I will be so proud of her and the next minute she says some other girls were being nasty and calling her a geek I said it's because they're jealous etc and to ignore them, girls But she was right I was proud of her

Well, that's just mean. Of COURSE she (and you) should be proud. to her.

Ce - love the new tv and stand. Two weeks ago we bought a tv stand from Ikea for our. It is a dark wood and we added a door to it that you can put fabric in the glass to customize the look. I really like it. I love going to Ikea to look around and we love to eat at their cafe.

Cool! We went all blonde wood from them about a year and a half ago, and they were the only place that we could find blonde big stands now. We debated black, but my favorite stand from there was just a dark brown and we thought it might look odd. Anyway, we are very happy, and we LOVE the cafe!

Turns out some teenagers jumped out of their boat, which is why they shut it down.

Why, why, why? I do not get people. What did they think would happen???

okay, i tried to multi quote 2 times and screwed something up both times. wow, i'm soo technologically challeneged!!! so, here goes......

kat-- that sucks that your mil is that way. it would be hard for me to bite my lip and not say anything. my mil drives me crazy too. she's nice tome, but my dh has 2 brothers. they are in trouble all the time, jail, prison. mostly substance abuse problems. but my inlaws continue to give , give, give and enable them. i mean like taking out a loan on her retirement to buy a house for one of them. now , he lost his job bc got dui, his girlfriend lost her job and now my mil is like but dh put himself through college and grad school, but if we ask for even small favors, it's always thrown back in our faces. i don't understand it. okay, sorry, once i get started, have trouble stopping . could go on for hours. but i feel much better

ce-- not going to jinx you. i was jinxed last week , so my dh gets nothing for a month!!!

Look Jo, the Queen decided to cross the pond to pick some tulips.

So, as we know since I was in TN, last week was NH's spring break. I had one of my playgroup moms go last week - she's A - and one decided to buck the flight prices and take her twins out of kindergarten this week instead. We'll call her S. The two of them are very close.

The one that went last week, A, didn't believe a word of what we said about planning. And her DH refused to stay on property, because "it's too expensive" - never mind that they then also rented a car, paid for parking, etc.

At any rate, I didn't talk to A, but I talked to S on Friday before she left on Saturday. She said A was having a ball, but that A's DH had to get on the phone and admit "You were all right, I was wrong."

A's DD had gone to BBB and the FGiT informed her that the DD had lice. This was several days in, so very likely from the off property hotel. A's DH then insisted on moving to WDW property.

What did he choose?

The Beach Club! So much for money saving!

At any rate, glad to know he admitted that we were right. And, S called two nights ago, just to be sure that she didn't need park tix to go to DTD (and I thought I'd trained her so well... ) and she said they were having a marvelous time. :

But I loaned neither of them my black bag.

Babbling again, go figure.

Well, I'm watching PotC on the new TV - we didn't upgrade to a Blu Ray, but the new surround sound receiver is supposed to "upconvert" any normal DVD's to "near" HD quality. PotC looks GOOD in near HD on my giant TV.

Sorry. I was overcome by a song I learned in church as a child.
So, today's a busy one. We're getting through school quickly (we're on a "summer" schedule already- which is math and history only until mid-August) so we can go to B's ortho appt. Today she gets x-rays and the mold done for the braces. Next week she'll get the braces put on. She's not happy about it, but she's less upset than she was.

The girls also have dance pics tonight. That's three costumes, not one like last night. I'll take pics again. The packages are $49 each! With two girls and 4 costumes, that's way too much! Can't I just get one 5x7 and a few wallets?! Geez!

Then I'm going to dinner and a movie with my SIL and MIL tonight. I wasn't going to go, but my hubby told me I should, that I deserved a little fun this week. He's right. I'm excited to get out of the house and not think about things.

Tomorrow we have our last day of PE and K has taken the day off. The kids love it because it's water day and dad brings his big three-man water balloon slingshot. He's the hit of the "party"!
The boys are going to see Speed Racer tomorrow night, so they girls and I may rent a movie- maybe Nancy Drew?
We have Mom's coming over for dinner on Sat and I'm not sure what's going on on Sunday. So, have a fun weekend and Happy Mother's Day!

The funeral was lovely, I got through a ton of tissues and made sure I took my sunglasses with me Her DD (11) was incredible, so brave and strong (just like her Mum was) I don't think she cried and she even lit a candle and placed on her coffin The lady (Jodi 38 y/o) whos funeral it was had been battling cancer for several years, she had organised her own funeral and had written a book with messages to lots of people and a Mummy Manual for her DD as she gets older, some excerts (sp?) of these were read out and OMG they were so moving, lots more tissues were required She was buried in a beautiful spot underneath a tree and at least she's out of pain now!

Now I have to try and get DH up to check the mail for me (I think my purses are coming today) because the elevator is broke and we live on the 5th floor! Down I can do, up not so much. He loves his sleep when he has days off...so much so I can bang around and he hardly moves.
