Will they have to add any days to his school year due to the power outage?

I hope this wasn't the same store that you bought the pork at. You may want to find a new one, if you can.

No, just got an email from his Honors History teacher. They are opening the school today until 1 pm so they can pick up study guides and books. They were supposed to have 2 finals today, 2 tomorrow and 2 on Thursday. The schedule called for whole days M,T,W and 1/2 days Thur and Fri. They are now saying they will have whole days Thur and Fri but no extra days needed. PROVIDED they get the power on at the school TODAY. If not, who knows! I can tell you that there are alot of kids NOT cramming for finals though! It's so nice out. :confused3

Oh, and the store is NOT the same one. I use the "bad meat" store (ironically, I know...) for meat only! So, they aren't close by. The other store is my "go to" store for everything else.

Jo- Glad the swelling is going down, have you swelled like that from a horse fly before? That sounds like some serious horse fly swelling.
Never been bitten by one before, I googled it and apparently they don't pierce the skin like a mosquito but cut a chunk of skin out, that's why they swell more :eek: I was so pleased to read what it had done :rotfl2:

It will get done Katt...and if not, it will get done when you get back::yes::
Katt sending you another big :hug: Just think of all the fun you'll be having in WDW :goodvibes

No wonder Jim and I were having allergy problems. The dust bunnies under the bed could have choked a horse:faint:
:rotfl2:

My MIL keeps saying I'll be fine at one week after a abdominal hysterectomy (with removal of the ovaries). She's making me feel liek a big baby for wanting to have a few new nightgowns and putting things on hold for a few weeks. :furious:
Dawn tell your MIL that all your Focker friends have told you to rest and take things easy and that you will be taking the full 6 weeks recovery time if you feel you need it :hug:

I don't want to be in my jammies with no bra on :scared1:
Of all the things to worry about :lmao:

Walked down to pick Ellie up from school and it's ridiculous how much this dam foot is hurting, I just want to itch it off, so I'm back to elevating again, I needed to get some ironing done but hey ho :rotfl:

My main thing is wondering how long until I can get up without help and sit up in a chair. I just wonder how long I'll need Kirt home helping with the kids. They are older (11, 7, & 5) so they can whelp each other stay entertained for the most part. Any ideas on that stuff? :confused3

Oh! And I guess Las Vegas! Am I right? Do I win a prize?

Not Las Vegas... :)

My guess is they will get you out of bed the next day and get you moving. You should be able to sit in a chair from that point. They will be looking for you to pass gas and BM. ::yes:: That is pretty typical for all abdominal surgeries. Make sure they give you stool softeners and gas X. I had them by my bed side with all surgeries to that area (as well as ibroprophen). They came in every so often to give me my narcotics and I had the drip with the button for the 1st 24.

Come on... Guess where the Gynogizers fest...?:cool1:

Mel- :rotfl2: You have a meat store? I sure hope that was a one time incident.

Mr Diz has to go see a surgeon next week. He is getting his gall bladder removed. He complained to the doctor in January, saying when he eats pizza or something greasy, he is getting a lot of pain in his side and can't sleep at night - even vomiting some. The doctor told him not to eat those foods anymore. It has gotten worse, so he went back. He had an ultrasound done and it showed that he has several gallstones. The Dr did not say how many, but Mr Diz said he saw at least 6 on the image when they were doing the ultrasound.

Heat will help with the attacks. Been there done that.. pregnant cound not operate. Use a heating pad, hot water bottle or one of those "Bed Buddy" microwave pads.. ( "Walgreens has them .. maybe Walmart)place it on the right side of the chest/upper stomach just under the" Man-B O O B".

Can you pass gall stones like kidney stones? I know it's painful but better than surgery???

If they are lodged ....which is what is causing the pain.. they usually will not pass. Unless the Gallbladder gets inflamed.. they will romove it Laparoscopic.
Using gas to extend your stomach and that stuff takes a while to come down.
and small inscisions..
Nurses will push your stomach afterwards sometimes to get the gas out quicker

Thanks. I know I was told 3-4 days in the hospital and 4-6 weeks recovery. I want to do the abdominal even though I know they can *ahem* go through the "natural entry" because they need to blast off any endometriosis (and, trust me, I can feel there's a lot in there) that has formed on other organs. :(

My guess would be at least a week.. maybe up to two. Since the surgery is much like a C-section.. I was able to Drive:rolleyes1... (Shhh don't tell on me...)a week later using a Standard transmission because I wanted to go see my baby in the hospital and no one would take me. However you are having things "yanked" so I might expect one more week till you are moving around some.

Dawn... :hug: be "Still" and Soar Baby Soar !!

I had mine out. The recovery time wasn't bad at all. I was up and cleaning the house in a few days. You can't pass the stones generally, and once they form, they grow. So, they can become lodged in the bile duct, which is dangerous and can cause the gallbladder to burst.

FYI---after the GB is out...the food thing doesn't usually improve. Most people, me included, still have things that trigger those symptoms.

Hey, Dr. Jen... What about me? My MIL keeps saying I'll be fine at one week after a abdominal hysterectomy (with removal of the ovaries). She's making me feel liek a big baby for wanting to have a few new nightgowns and putting things on hold for a few weeks. :furious:

::yes::

Has she ever had her baby maker removed? No??? Well, then she don't know what it's like to have a sick baby maker.

Come on... Guess where the Gynogizers fest...?:cool1:

Disney of course. :confused3

Oh.... JUST LET 'EM FLOP :lmao:

I brought Jon in and showed him all of his b-day wishes and asked him what he would like to say. He says:

"Thank you ma'ams." :lmao:

He's to the point.

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes for him. He's now outside drenching himself in the sprinkler. Today will be 101, so he's having fun before it's hot enough to scorch his skin off.

We are going out to lunch with a friend whose daughter's b-day is also today. Then, we're going out to a family dinner.

I gave Jon his presents...and apparently...I bought him a play station game he already has. :rotfl2: But, he hugged me anyways and said he would keep it. What a guy!

It's a rainy day here in MN. We are again having a stay in bed all day and hang out day. The kiddos are laying here with me, watching Disney TV, whilst I get to do some internet hopping and popping. My Dh got home last night somewhere around 2AM, after sitting on a plane in NY trying to fly home. He is currently snoring, laying across the bottom of the bed. Every once in awhile Tink decides her daddy is too loud and slams her hands on her hips and yells, "STOP SNOOWING DADDEEEE!" :thumbsup2

So lets see.... I've gone 1 full day, 2 to go. I think I can handle that. :worried:
She complained a lot with her spacers (maybe more than the braces--but then she had no comparison). They popped 3 of her baby teeth out within 10 days! It probably hurts worse when they are pushing big teeth--hers had minimal roots.

Poor BA---she had an all over body rash last evening---I called the hospital and the nurse thought it was a reaction to the Prednisone (which she had never had before). Plus she was super-hyper (and got anxious when I called the hospital). But her breathing was fine.......gave her Benadryl.....and the rash faded overnite.
Of course, back on the dose pack today so will have to watch.

WHY DO WE ALWAYS GET SICK/INJURED PRIOR TO VACATION???

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JON!!:cool1: :cool1:

(my baby will be 12 next Jan!)

+++++++++++++++
Just got my Medieval times tickets!!! Got 2 adult tickets free for the Fathers Day show!!!:cool1: :cool1:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I yelled that at my mother during out trip...but that's another story...:rolleyes1

Yikes....:scared1:
Since mine was removed.. I have NEVER had another problem.

Really? Most people do! I do, so does my father, so do several other people I know. I only know one other person who doesn't have symptoms. Besides you. Fatty and spicy foods are the devil...but that's a chance I'm willing to take! :rotfl2:

:hug: Poor BA! Prednisone ( and we have a lot of experience ) is one of the most difficult steroids for the body to process. Some children experience violent episodes. Jon gets really hyper! :hyper: Can't settle himself down. We try to use other steroids...but what sucks is prednisone works the best for him.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JON!!:cool1: :cool1:

I'm back! It's getting hot out there again. I thought the heat "broke." Looks like somebody done fixed it! TE? Did you put on your sexy jammies again?

Katt: :hug: Don't worry dude. I haven't done diddly for my trip and we leave right after you! Repeat after me...."ooohhhmmmm. Disney is for fun, not stress...........oooooohhhhhhhhmmmmmmmm. I will have fun NOT stress. Ooohhhmmmm."

Dawn: You are allowed to let those babies swing. Period.

I got the things that I forgot at the store. They were very gracious. And DS15 treated me to a salad at McD's. Asian with grilled chicken. 7 points, with the dressing! Whoo Hoo! Now we are home again. Got the AC going. I'm planning on the treadmill after dinner tonight. (don't want to be sweaty right now...)
I should probably go call the stump guy and tell him that ANOTHER glass guy is coming on Friday. Still don't have my door fixed! Grrr.

Mel:banana:
*ooooohhhhhmmmmmmm Broken windows can be fixed ooooohhhhhmmmmm*

The doctor told him not to eat those foods anymore.

How much did you pay for those pearls of wisdom?? ;)

I gave Jon his presents...and apparently...I bought him a play station game he already has. :rotfl2: But, he hugged me anyways and said he would keep it. What a guy!

What a cutie! Happy Birthday!!!!!!

I have always wanted to go to Medieval Times!

HSM- let 'em hang lady!

Mel- I go to a specific store for meat too, its cheaper that our neighborhood store!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another hot and yucky day! I got woken up by the cat this morning playing with the dust jackets on some of my books on a lower shelf!
So I finished Twilight! I can;t even say how much I loved it! I already ordered the other 2 books from Amazon and I pre-ordered the 4th book! (the library holds are almost in the hundreds).
Tonight (or tomorrow) Kc is getting the new Metal gear game (and his playstation 3) and that means I don't get the TV but I get more PC time since he already warned me he doesn't plan to sleep. Joy.
Katt: :hug: Don't worry dude. I haven't done diddly for my trip and we leave right after you! Repeat after me...."ooohhhmmmm. Disney is for fun, not stress...........oooooohhhhhhhhmmmmmmmm. I will have fun NOT stress. Ooohhhmmmm."
Thanks.. I know I'll be fine ONCE I GET THERE... Just need everything in order.. hate coming back from vacation and have to GET TO WORK
How is it going Mel.. Losing anything ??
I have the Fructis that I use on my hair when it's wet.... to keep the curl (which I usually don't like to... but do sometimes) I use.. surprisingly enough, suave moouse (sp?) it keeps it smooth and curly at the same time... A coworker who has long curly gorgeous hair reccomended it and it works wonderfully... and doesn't make my hair feel stiff or sticky...HTH
:thumbsup2 Every time I see Fructis on the shelf I want to say, "Woo woo!" from the commercial. The kids don't know what I'm doing, and it's too much energy to explain it... :rotfl: Thanks for the suggestion.
Never been bitten by one before, I googled it and apparently they don't pierce the skin like a mosquito but cut a chunk of skin out, that's why they swell more :eek: I was so pleased to read what it had done :rotfl2:
Poor thing. She's having a hard time, huh? :worried:
What's Medieval times? :hyper: It's probably not around here, huh? We're just finishing our medieval times study and moving on to the Renassiance time period. It sounds like it would be fun to visit. ::yes::
Dawn: You are allowed to let those babies swing. Period.
I know... :worried: I just work so hard to have a nice, clean house and prove I am a great mom (even if I homeschool) and a great wife, that I don't want to be caught with my b00bs down, you know? I'll just have to throw something on when she comes by to take the kids to the movies or whatever.
