We have decided that on one day of our holiday we are going to head out to the Florida Mall. Years ago I went here on the bus direct from DTD, $2 each way, FANTASTIC! I have now discovered that this service has been stopped (WHY???) and that it is now a matter of switching on and off buses in order to get to the mall via bus. :( We have decided we will get a taxi there and back, can I ask at the concierge for numbers of taxi firms or do I need to research this before I go? Also, when we get a taxi, if we do get one recommended to us by concierge, will the driver be willing to collect us again if we take his number and ask for him? My friend ended up with a 'cowboy' taxi driver in Orlando a couple of years ago and I'm just a little bit wary of the whole thing after hearing her story!

If you are leaving from WDW property, then only a Mears (or their affiliate) taxis can pick you up (most of the resort and theme parks have a taxi stand and there are usually taxis waiting). I've taken plenty of the taxis within WDW and never had a problem. You can probably arrange for a taxi to pick you up as well. I'd give Mears a call and see how it works:
