My husband is a blue collar factory worker. He sports two, I'm sayin' TWO tattoos. He is an all American reggler ol' guy. He mows the yard nekkid from the waist up. He sports a belly, which I find rather cute. He also sports a cute lil goatee and two earrings.

...Do I qualify for y'alls club??? :goodvibes

:teeth: Me too! I wanna join! My Dh isnt a factory worker but, he is blue collar and he is in the union!!!! Proud to be an operating engineer! I am proud of him too! And all the hard work he does allows me to be a sahm. :goodvibes He only has one tattoo though! So will we qualify for the club??

Less than 60 posts too. She is getting off on the wrong foot.

Reminds some of us of a poster that had lots of Questions & Conversations.

Sounds like flat out bragging and looking down on the rest of us.

Bragging would imply that this is real. These stories are fictional. Not sure what the point of these posts is, but as long as people keep biting I suspect they will continue.

This is so entertaining :rotfl:

We aren't married yet but DFi works in a factory and I have a few tattoos, we probably don't qualify for the club yet. DFi has mentioned he may want to get a tattoo if it helps.

I have no problem with guys not wearing shirts in their own yards, tattoos or not. There is a guy that lives across the street from DFi that mows his lawn (seems like every other day) with no shirt on. He has a nice body and I don't think anyone has ever complained that he doesn't wear a shirt. I often wonder why he mows his lawn so much :confused3 but that is it. Average selling price for a house in their neighborhood is about $700 -800K so it's not the slums by any means. :wave2:

And should I be on the watch for this one also?

Well, I'm new here also but I'm trying to make friends and aquaintances. Also still learning the proper etiquette for the DIS Boards. If I offend someone, please let me know. This is still a learning experience for us.
She just happened to rub me the wrong with with her "american subculture" bull****.

Again, I never made a comment on the value and beauty of tattoos or a no shirt look. I just wondered what people thought about someone who never wore a shirt in public. I can see by the responses so far that the casual look of the typical working class man seems to be quite popular among similar working class women on this board.

I still maintain that it is a question the specific subculture (social and economic status) the person comes from.

Just to let you know this working class family owns a 350 acre horse farm in ocean county NJ which is unheard of. We Raise race horses and show horses. And a small hobby herd of hereford cattle only 36 head. Our property taxes alone would make you gasp. But A blue collar proud to be union red blooded american man supports all of it including 2 children with one on the way!I am also able to be a sahm and enjoy our children and our home. So your strereotype of the average american (which we outnumber your fortune 500 VP's) is way off base. A great majority of "the average american" are hard working people just doing what is right for their family. If they walk around with no shirt and tattoo's and you dont like it then look the other way. Just the same as you can change the channel if you dont like what's on tv. It's real easy to do.

Sorry, I didn't know there was a prerequisite to the number of posts one could have in order to voice an opinion. I also wasn't aware that I needed a reason to "be here". I'm here to join in the community, why are YOU here? To holler at people who don't agree with you and make them feel unwelcome?

If your husband is out in the yard without his shirt, I'll be sure to look away. I said I thought it was gross, I didn't say he wasn't allowed to do it.

Geesh! Is a dissenting opinion always taking so negatively here at the DIS boards? :(

Your opinion is welcome here. It's just not a real good idea to be on here with a coupla posts and then post a minority opinion in a thread like this. Most people joined this board to have fun discussing all things Disney, and some of us come to the Community Board to talk about other things...but voicing a minority opinion after you've only posted twice usually tends to send off bad signals around here....such as one who joins just to :stir: .
I guess i have hard time understanding what is so gross about a man with no shirt. Now, if he were in the local Mickey D's..that's a little different. But if my neighbor guy wants to mow his yard on a 90 degree day with no shirt, then let him. I find nothing gross about it. Life's too damn short for that.

:) Dont worry I have seen you post on some other "interesting" threads such as one by VK about leaving his wife. you had funny things to say I would not consider you a :stir: But some people are and they derive pleasure from it. And some are easy to ignore and some are not like when you get someone that chooses to insult a great percentage of this country's population.

You know, it's quite obvious that the fact that your neighbor mows the lawn shirtless (tattoos or no) really had nothing whatsoever to do with your post, OP. Your true agenda was to once again attempt to point out to everyone that you are "above" a certain social class. Guess what? No one cares! Does it really make you feel better about yourself to put down so many others? Too sad, really.

Very well said! :thumbsup2
My DH is also a hard working union guy which allows me to be a SAHM/student. He works hard AND makes darn good money.

And IMO, it's the WORKING CLASS that are the HEART of this country. And I don't mean just blue collar workers...as there are many white collar workers who don't make much more than DH and work their hineys off every day. And in case I sound like I'm bashing those who aren't "working class", I'm not. Many working class people have worked their butts off at every rung on the ladder. My problem is with people who judge the "working class" and/or tend to forget where they came from. My DH (as many others on here) is no less smart(DH has an IQ that's well above avg. and is one of the most intelligent people I know)than those who are CEO's of companies, doctors, lawyers, etc. Thank God for the working class in this country...we're what makes the USA tick!

I see what you mean. Did some research and found this:

Not so much bragging and looking down as making up stories for the purpose of pushing people's buttons. OP likes to play games. Looks like she hit a home run on this one.

Well, I have a new candidate for the ignore list. I suggest everyone else do the same. No responses = no enabling.

Last time I checked the rules stated that I could join in on discussions as long as I did not offend anyone. The OP asked what we thought of men without shirts in public, and I answered it. I never once insulted anyone, but YOU on the other hand jumped all over ME and asked me why I'm here. I think its YOU who needs to rethink the way you interact with people on message boards.

I'm sorry you have a hard time understanding why I think its gross for a man to not wear a shirt in public. I just do. It has nothing at all to do with working class, white collar, blue collar, I just don't think its proper for a man to walk out of his home without a shirt on, unless he is at the beach or the pool. I'm not sure why you feel threatened by my opinion, but there it is, like it or not. You don't think its gross, well, you are certainly entitled to that opinon. I'm not going to jump all over you and ask you why you are here and make assumptions about you based on one opinion that happens to differ from mine.

And for the record, I come from a long line of blue collar union workers, many of whom have tattoos. I just don't like when men don't wear their shirts in public, it has nothing to do with the man himself. Its a PERSONAL PREFERENCE, got it?

I may have to rethink my membership here, people sure are testy! :(

After looking at the posts here for years I always wondered what the social/ economic demographic was for the typical Disboard poster, now I really know. It is a rough blue collar type who have no respect for modesty and like to go around showing off their tattoos and bare pot belly for everyone to see.
