Tarzan Rocks VS Festival of the Lion King

Lion King...our favorite. But, if your kids love Tarzan and are just so-so about LK then you might choose Tarzan. They are very different experiences. Tarzan is more modern...rollerblading and such. But LK is just perfect in our opinion. I guess we aren't very modern.

I haven't seen Tarzan, but Lion King is WONDERFUL. One of my favorite attractions in all of WDW.

We just saw Tarzan Rocks on our last trip. We had missed it on the last couple of trips for some reason. We liked it better than I thought we would but if we only had time for one it would have to be Festival of the Lion King. That is a must see for us.

What does Tarzan Rocks do to kids' ears? DH and I were walking along that new path from Asia into Dinoland that goes by EE and comes out at Tarzan Rocks. Well, it was soooo loud, I vowed never to subject my ears to going there.

I agree, if you can only do one... choose FotLK. Tarzan Rocks is better than I expected it to be and is very enjoyable, but FotLK is the best, most beautiful show at WDW.

I liked Tarzan Rocks better, however the last time we went I wasn't as thrilled by it as I had been the 1st time but I didn't LOVE FOTLK either so which ever you choose I'm sure you will all be highly entertained.

If you ask DW and SIL, they would say go to Tarzan - they seem to really like Loincloths.

Come to think of it, BIL and I didn't mind watching Jane either.

Really though, my 8 year-old DS probably liked Tarzan more. While my 3 year-old DD seemed to like The Lion King more.

Our vote is for Tarzan! Lion KIng is a wonderful show but Tarzan is much more entertaining to our 3 kids. There is rollerblading, a live band ,and wonderful true dancing.

Oh, my, gosh, you must must must see Lion King!!!!
We just got back (3/22-3/28 at WDW), and we hit all 4 parks, including lots of shows. The Festival of the Lion King is absolutely not to be missed!!

FYI, it was DH, DD7, DD7, and myself. ALL OF US LOVED IT! I mean no disrespect to those who loved Tarzan -- that's why these boards are so great -- but we were going to see Tarzan, too, and, interestingly enough, walked by earlier and could peak in and also hear the noise (oops, music). ALL of us said "No thanks!"

We also enjoyed the Safari and Kali's and 1/2 of us liked Bug's Life and 1/2 didn't.

This year my DD is 7 and DS is 9. I asked them which they would recommend for children their age who could only see one show and they both replied Tarzan Rocks. They love the music and the skating and acrobatics. Then they both said, they should really go to both! Last year at FOTLK they were asked to help with the hand jive before the show and were chosen from the audience to dance in the song near the end and play a little instrument. I couldn't believe they were chosen as my daughter was so dirty she should have played the part of an orphan in Annie and my son was soaked (still dripping) from riding KRR. (The FOTLK theatre now has ac and he recommends that you not go to the show wet because you will be cold. Ride KRR after FOTLK.) I was very surprised since they were chosen to participate in the FOTLK that would say Tarzan Rocks is their fav. If the weather is warm to hot, I recommend seeing the first show of the day for Tarzan Rocks as it can get pretty hot in there. In 2003, we saw the show in the afternoon in May and it was too hot to be enjoyable. In May 2004, I thought the performers did better in the morning and wondered if it was due to the cooler temp. in the theatre. We enjoyed the show more since we were comfortable and dying of heat exhaustion. Both shows are great!

My kids also like the Flight of Wonders bird show. My family is of the opinion that AK is about the shows more than it is about the rides.

You can't wrong with either choice.

I'm in the minority here, but I'd choose Tarzan Rocks. I just can't get enough of a buff, hot guy in a loincloth. Plus, I like the music and the rollerblading. I like FOTLK, but not as much. I find the audience participation bit rather annoying in that show, although I'm not crazy about the audience participation in Tarzan either. That part seems longer in Lion King though.

Festival of the Lion King - hands down. It's a wonderful, magical show. Tarzan Rocks is obnoxious and loud - and frankly IMHO STUPID.

We've seen both and while DW prefers Lion King, I prefer Tarzan Rocks. Maybe it's because I like the music better in Tarzan, or maybe it's because the Lion King stuff runs too long and I get bored with it (especially the bird lady flying and dancing around.)

Festival of the Lion King- no contest. I would have left Tarzan Rocks if I was on the end. Why is it called Tarzan since he's in it less than 5 min.?
