Barb, I have to totally ditto everything Joe said. If you haven't been to a Major League baseball game, you cannot stand in judgement of the sport. I too had never seen much point in the game. I love going now. We go to quite a few minor league games every year. There is a stadium close by and it is only a couple years old and very nice. It's so much fun! They play alot of music and do silly contest between innnings, throw stuff (gifts) into the audience, every now and again somebody gets hit by a foul ball, the last game had a GREAT fight in it. And did I mention they asked me to come out on the field and do the limbo? I turned them down of course.

And I haven't even mentioned the cotton candy and funnel cakes yet. I'm no beer drinker and that's a good thing. I have enough sources of calories without getting into that stuff.

Evening all,
Bichon Barb I'm not in to baseball talk either. Now football (soccer) is another story. The Euro 2004 competition is on soon and the whole country goes football mad when the national side plays. And I mean we go crazy. During the world cup school opened at 7am for the kids to watch the game and lessons didn't start until the final whistle had gone!! I was lucky to get tickets to watch England play a few years ago and it was amazing. Our school is good at football and we were given 40 tickets to take the kids to England V Mexico (which we won 4 -0). It was great watching Beckham and Owen play. They are amazing to watch.
Well this evening has been busy here. DH put up 2 new shelves for some more DVD's. I went a little crazy and have ordered loads. I collect stargate sg1 and was missing series 2 and 5 to complete the collection so I decided to treat myself to them with the money I earned last week playing for the show. Plus our Lord of the rings will arrive tomorrow. Then I pre ordered series 10 of Friends (I have the other 9 series!!), plus I pre ordered Lion King 2 for when it comes out in July (well I have 1 and 3 on DVD!!)
Right now Pete is putting in the foundations for the other section of wall for our waterfall. Hopefully we will be able to get the wall built and the waterfall finished by the weekend.
OK, I need to go and make a shopping list as we are running low and need to get things in for my parents visit this weekend.

I really miss when we lived in Baltimore and we had season tickets at Camden Yards (Orioles for non-baseball fans)......it was the first year the new ball park had opened and we had the best seats ever!

Funny story: My father came to visit and went to a game with us. We sat down before him and when I saw him searching the stands for us, I jumped up and yelled "Daddy! Over here, Daddy!"....my southern accent along with the fact that I call my father "Daddy" was just too much for the comics in the stands so everyone around us started yelling "Hey Daddy...over here!" in their most obnoxiously southern fake draw.....my poor dad was so embarassed and everytime he got up to go somewhere during the game, those guys would start yelling "Daddy...over here, Daddy" all over again, all in good fun, but we still laugh about it to this day.... and those guys heckled me for the rest of the season

On another note...everyone send get well wishes to RickinNYC right now. He's not feeling well at all today. He's home from work with aches, pains, a fever, a terribly sore throat, a headache. Awful. I tried to give him some suggestions on ways to relieve his symptoms...tea w/ honey for his throat and the like, but he said "NO" "I DON'T WANNA!" So, if he signs on today, give him some of your good wishes and tell him your secrets for summer cold relief. HE'LL HATE THAT!

Give him my love, and tell him that misery loves company. There is a lot of this going around. I've had a sore throat since Thursday night, but I highly doubt it strep (no fever, no spots, etc.) What I think a lot of people are suffering from is some sinus ailment that causes a sore throat. I don't know. Tell him I said TAKE SOME DAMNED TYLENOL, and if that fails split a bottle of merlot. ;0)

(can I block him alone from reading this...he's gonna kill me when I get home! LOL

Last one I bought is Montgomery Gentry "You Do Your Thing", just came out last week and bought it the day it was released.

Favorite CD right now: Brooks & Dunn, "Red Dirt Road". It's awesome.
