Hi All!

Not real chatty today...

Nice day with the in-laws. Drove down to Nags Head to show them the beach house we'll be renting for a week in July and happily they liked it. I get nervous planning for everyone since some of them are hard to please but MIL thinks it'll do nicely. Good!

Came home and blew up the inflatable pirate ship pool MIL had brought for the kids and let them play in the pool for a couple hours while DH did some yard work. Just a lovely afternoon to be outside, although very hot :sunny:

Plans for the summer?
--one week at the beach (Nags Head, NC, on the Outer Banks)with 18 family members
--2 weeks of day camp for Abbie at her preschool
--DH gets PROMOTED!! (= pay raise!)
--DH will be gone much of the summer :( due to work
--lots of pool time, yard time, park time, etc. with the kids

Like about the summer?
--sun, sun, and more sun :sunny:
--don't need a coat :)
--warmth
--casual clothes are the uniform of the day
--more free time, less structured
--family get-togethers
--usually get to travel

Don't like about the summer?
--humidity can make you sweat at 7am
--sweating
--don't look good in a swimsuit
--sometimes have TOO much free time (kids anyway)
--doesn't last long enough here in VA (like all year long)

Tomorrow starts the last week of 4th grade for Jordan and I am soooo sad....can't believe he'll be in 5th grade....growing up too fast :(

I saw Shrek 2 again tonight as Jordan had not seen it yet....I think it was funnier the 2nd time as I could look forward to what was gonna happen.....I just love Donkey and wish I could give him a big hug! :teeth:

Well, it's late and I need my beauty rest as usual. Sweet dreams to everyone! :wave2:

:wave2:
This time next week--NC Beast and I will be in out room at a WDW resort and going to bed early in order to get up to do AK early. We would play by ear until our dinner ressie and then do e-night. We would be talking on how well behaved Jordan is and how Cadburysmom is great. Then we talk about RRBB and OF. We will see if OF really looks like Newman in less than 6 days. ::MinnieMo :teeth:

Morning all.
A breakfast of Mickey waffles, pancakes and other pasteries are served in the English tea garden when you are ready.

No school for me today :teeth: But I do have to go on a course from 9-4 about speaking and listening in English lessons:rolleyes: It will probably be really boring but it is at a nice hotel and the dinner is always yummy!! Then after that I need to go shopping. My parents are driving down of Friday for the weekend so I need to get a few things in. The hotel is next to the supermarket we get our internet shopping from so I might as well pop in whilst I am there.

So does anyone have any interesting plans for today?

Kismetdreams got me thinking of a QOTD.

Which European countries have you guys visited?

Here is my list: France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Spain, various Spanish islands, Holland and of course Scotland and Wales. I also went to Jersey when I was in the Girl Guides on camp. I think my favourites were Italy and Spain (especially Cordoba and Sevilla). I would love to go to Greece next. It is the only European country that I still want to visit but haven't yet.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everybody.

It's a beautiful day here.

The ballgame was fun last night. We had games every night this weekend but last night's was the best. Don't really know why. The boys just played really well and there were quite a few of those really good plays where a player from the other team would be going for home or stealing a base and our players got them out nearly every time. Still just have the one loss right now.

OMG! This smilie looks just like my horse Che Bye (sha-by)! She was a great old girl. Is Holly learning English or Western? If English; saddle seat, hunt seat or dressage?

Whoa girl! Settle down. I'm not too sure about these questions. I believe it is English, the lady who teaches said it was better to have the young 'uns learn with two hands? Does that make sense? I'm pretty sure it's saddle seat and I don't even know what the other two things you asked are. Didn't mean to get your panties in a bunch! ;) She's soooo excited, can't wait and has a daily countdown until her lessons start. I can tell you the horses name - Bart and he's Appaloosa (sp?).

I'm so sorry you had to sell her. Horses are very hard to part with. DH's parents bred and raised Thoroughbreds for years. They don't do it for a living anymore, risky business

. The love of horses is in her blood.

So does anyone have fun plans for Memorial Day Weekend?
ind.gif

It is tradition for it to rain here. EVERY SINGLE YEAR! Very predictable. Just checked the forecast and YUP! there are storms predicted all weekend long. We're having a cookout anyway, either Sat. or Monday at our house. Sunday we will picnic with my family at a local park IF the weather cooperates.

Morning! :wave2:

Well, it is POURING here....coming down wicked hard. Which means no practice. And it's supposed to rain tomorrow, and wednesday. So if it does, there go another practice and my meet. Ahhh I hate rain...and now I'm not feeling to happy...:(

My interesting plans for the day...piano lessons for an hour, lunch, and probably spending the whole day inside reading...thanks stupid rain. Especially since I need to talk to my coach about events for the championship meet which is...NEXT WEDNESDAY! Ahh I know!

Memorial day plans..Running in a 5k race on saturday. My grandparents are coming down for the long weekend. Nothing else really. Hopefully it'll be nice. Although watch it rain ALL week and then have it beautiful for the weekend...I'd much rather have track.

QOTD, no European countries...but I'm only 13. I have been to Canada like 5 times and Mexico once. I almost went to Puerto Rico but we decided to go to the Grand Canyon and those places instead.

Well, I need to go and get away from the window because I get rather depressed when I look out :( . Have a good day everyone!

Morning everyone,

Just stopping by during my planning period at school before my students show up. I've got Disney on the brain, with our trip only one week away. It's sunny and humid out, even at 9 in the morning, but I suppose this is good training for Florida weather.

I've been checking the forecast lately, and it seemes consistantly that the temperature here in Hickory NC is 3-5 degrees above that in Orlando. What's up with that? I hope it stays that way...but I'm sure it will hit 100 the day we show up, as a welcoming gift.

My students are taking their Algebra I End Of Course exam at the end of this week, so a little pixie dust would be appreciated as we make final preparations. Geeze, that sounded morbid...like a funeral, or something. Oh well...:)

Hope everyone has a great day, and a great week. I'll check back in shortly. Stay cool!

:teeth:

Good morning.

I've only visited Canada and Ireland, but I have been to Hawaii, California, Washington DC, WDW, Georgia, NH, Maine, Penn, Texas.

Good morning all!

Thanks for the breakfast I love eating in the English tea garden!

Hope everyone has a great day today. I have another meeting this morning to discuss if/how they are going to restructure my department. It looks like I will probably go from salaried to hourly, which I have mixed feelings about. Hourly means I'll be getting paid overtime, but I loose a few of the 'perks' of the salaried catagory. However, more $$$$ means more DISNEY. I think when they finally realize what paying me overtime will cost, they may reconsider! We'll see.

Tinkbackwards, Holly is going to have so much fun! Appys are one of my favorite breeds. So now I want to know about Bart's coloring....is he a snowflake, leopard, or blanket Appy? My sister's first equine was a Pony of the Americas, which is basically a pony sized Appaloosa. Her name was Princess and she was a snowflake (brown with small white spots all over)......Peg won 4H grand champion in Lake County Indiana with her.

Whoops! TIme to hit the shower.....have a great day kids!

Oops forgot QOTD. Just England and Wales...nowhere in Europe yet. Of course, Canada and Mexico over here......and Hawaii FELT like a different country!

I want to whine. Did you ever feel really stupid at your job. I just can't seem to do anything right. I am being laid off June 30th and I have no idea what I want to do. What I want to be when I grow up. I've been praying on this and I do feel better but I at a real loss. And even if I go back to school what should I study. Waaaaaahhhhhhh, poor me, poor me.

OK feel better got that whining over with.

Morning everyone

s&k'smom
 its ok to whine here!! Some of us are master whiners--Shut up RickinNYC
:teeth: BTW how did the neuro appt go??

Only have a few minutes so skimmed thru a lot of posts. Hope I didn't miss anyone being sick

Has anyone heard from geffric?

QOTD: hmmm lived in Germany 5 yrs, Holland, Belgium, England, Scotland, Spain, Italy, France, Lichentstein, Switzerland, Austria, Czech republic, Poland, No. Africa-Tunisia, Mexico, Canada, Bahamas -but I guess that is in country, and my only regret is not getting to Ireland!! :( Can't think of any others. Was a tour guide in Europe. My favorie job yet to date.

Off to do a days work in 2 hours then Lauren is home from school-no work will get done then!! Be good all

Hey cheeringmom, I totally forgot to whine about the neuro appt. Well it went good once they finally saw us, waited 45 minutes! both kids were well behaved. They want to send DS for bloodwork oh that is going be a living he**. But I'm gonna try and do it ASAP to get it over with. Once they get the results in we'll take it from there.

Hi guys! Got a quick question for Rickinthebigapple. Is he around here this morning?

R---I---C---K---?????????

I just whined to DH that I couldn't find good flights for the meet in October. He said "why don't you just fly Jet Blue?" I said because it's expensive. He said "So what. Give yourself a bonus and go in a nice new clean plane." I confess. I almost got verklempft...speak amongst yourselves...

Okay, ANYWAY, Rick, do you ever fly Jet Blue. I'm wonder if a lay over of only 45 minutes at JFK is enough time. Are they in just one terminal?

Oh, countries:

USA
Canada
Mexico
Germany
Sweden

One more thing. Anyone heard from Hyzdufan? I thought I heard him speaking.
