Shooooweee! Just finished catching up.

First things first:

Cheeringmom, glad the old ticker is still tickin'

cadburysmom, lots of prayers & pixed dust headed your way. I can't imagine how worried you & your family must be. Poor little angel. What is her name?

disneyluvers, WELCOME BACK!!! You have been missed. Was it your son who has been sick? Is he OK?

OK kadaten, now I am doubly jealous of you! You are going to WDW and you got your SWAP box!!!! It's a good thing I like you, or I'd have to hate you.

I've been busy all day today!!

What she said... and...

kadaten if I forget to say it later, have a wonderful, fun trip.... you know, happy kids, perfect weather, a benevolent stranger paying all your expenses...

llebrekniT and Deadheadbelle - why not get your adorable kids into modeling and save the money for something important like college... nahhh... for WDW, DL, and DCL trips!

Cheeringmom - Can I share your avatar? Actually, I'm almost old enough to be one of those red hat ladies who wear purple. This will place me on the timeline: I was a senior in H.S. when this came out:

You walked into the party like you were walking onto a yacht,
Your hat strategically dipped below one eye, your scarf it was apricot,
You had one eye on the mirror as you watched yourself gavotte
and all the girls dreamed that they'd be your partner, they'd be your partner, ... and...

RickinNYC - my visual of you at MNSSHP, dressed as Prince Charming but with a mullet is not a pretty picture. I'm glad you didn't go there with the hair...

ohanafamily and RRBB, thanks for the late night computer support. My computer seems to be functioning fine ... I ran ActiveScan twice and it didn't find any viruses... my big problem is that IE is not findable and the link you gave me last night doesn't work, apparently because I have Windows XP. The saddest thing about using Netscape Navigator is that it doesn't support Smiley Central.

Lewski709 - what do you think of my book turned screenplay idea? I think I'd like to be played by Sandra Bullock, how about you? Maybe Kevin Bacon for my ex... wouldn't want to pick anyone too hot because no one would care if he was a villain...

RE: Southern accents... my Cinci BIL told my DH that he'd never heard the word "bug" pronounced in three syllables until my DD3 at the time found one in their house... We say y'all, and are proud of it. And I agree, Yankees like GRITS - girls raised in the South because of our accents. I haven't yet heard of a Southerner, though, who thinks a Yankee accent is "sweet" or "cute" or "precious!"

oops, phone is a-ringin'

I'll be back in a minute with MY zoo story... involved 2 elephants in Zurich!

kadaten, your PM box is full...

If I recall, they had a couple of birthdays when we were at Ohanas, and If I remember they came to the table and sang.

Oh, and the package from Nephosaurus was special for you, other people got different items...the sassy item should keep the little one occupied for 5 1/2 hours...(IOW, please ssshhh because of what it is)

AND... I was corrected, Nephosaurus wants his kiss... you know he is partial to the ladies...He will turn as red as his sister...

A MULLET???!!! Good God in Heaven NO!

Never had one. In the early 80's while in high school, my hair was a tad longer, parted in the middle, kinda surfer boy meets Sean Cassidy. Prescribed to the preppy look with layered polos with collar(s) up, oxford shirts, docksiders, pink/green. Blech.

Then in the mid-late 80's, I sported the ever popular flat top. Ripped and bleached jeans. LOTS of black, whether jeans, mock turtlenecks, those stupid black gaskets on the wrist that have seemed to come back recently, black t-shirts, black cardigans. Was very "new wave." Double blech.

But a mullet... bite your tongue!

Not a "Joe Dirt" mullet. I'm talking a Duran Duran mullet! :bounce:

I love that song!

One of the more popular songs when I was in high school was:

She's got a smile that it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where evrything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I stared too long
I'd probably break down and cry

Yes, I loved Axl Rose. llebrekniT, my brother & I went to see Guns n Roses in concert. We were really cool.

Here's another popular song from my high shool days:

Cold coolin at a bar, and I'm lookin for some action
But like Mike Jagger said, I can't get no satisfaction
The girls are all around, but none of them wanna get with me
My threads are fresh and I'm lookin def, yo, what's up with L-o-c?
The girls is all jockin at the other end of the bar
Havin drinks with some no-name chump, when they know that I'm the star
So I got up and strolled over to the other side of the cantina
I asked the guy, Why you so fly? he said, Funky Cold Medina

I'm gonna go cook dinner.

Later folks!!

RRBB What I want to know is how do I put the pics on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper? I know that they'll be reduced so do I just crunch them together taking into account the reduction, cropping, etc. and then number them? Or do I have to tape them together? I was thinking that the printer will take them apart to scan them in so I'm gonna have to number them anyway so that I know where each one is supposed to go. The last meeting is next Tuesday and I want to make it as easy on the printer as I can. They are already having some problems with the cover sheet bleeding and I've already dropped off the photos that were easy to place on the pages so this is the hardest part. They are gonna be some 14 pages of collage photos and I have a limited idea of what I'm doing. I wish I had paid more attention in journalism class instead of goofing off.
Gosh, if I remember correctly we had layout pages that we got from the printer. We (the 8th graders) put the whole thing together. Except for the professional class/individual photos, we even took all the pics ourselves. Anyway, back to the layout pages from the printer, they had grid lines on them in a light blue - or whatever color wouldn't be picked up in the printing process - so we could lay everything out straight. And they way we sent the pages to the printer was the way they came out in the book, no reduction or enlargement. I guess it was "what you see is what you get." I wonder if the whole process has changed since them, probably so since I graduated from 8th grade in 1978.

Is there any way you can just call the printer to find out exactly how they do it and what they suggest you do?

What instrument does your son play disneyluvers? I have very fond memories of choir, orchestra, band practice etc at junior and high school - I guess thats why I went on to do a graduate degree in music :D

I know what the post office said, but those Oreo's went air and were suppose to be there by the end of the following week. It was 2+ weeks later. I hope you get yours sooner than that.

I know what you mean. cadburysmom posted something to me 2 1/2 weeks ago which was supposed to arrive in 10 days but I am still waiting for it.

OK, do you have a Windows XP disk? or a Quick System Restore Disk?

If you have a Windows XP system disk, you can add/remove it in the CPanel from the system tab of Add and remove Programs...

I will see if I have an explorer CD somewhere at home...

Okay, popping in with my zoo story...

I was with a girl from my travel group in Zurich, Switzerland when I was a foreign exchange student, and she had never been to a zoo or seen any of the regular zoo animals. She really wanted to see giraffes and elephants. Well, we saw the giraffes and she was appropriately happy, and then we headed for the elephants. There was a HUGE crowd at the elephant pen, and cameras were just a snappin' away... we waited as people slowly moved on and when we finally got to the front, we saw two elephants doing the deed! (Is that a PC way to post this on the Boards??) I have to say, it was an amazing thing to see and I have yet to be able to adequately describe just what I saw!!!

I don't know how the others were sent, but we sent your box to you using Global Express Mail Danauk. That's supposed to be 3-5 days for delivery vs. Airmail Parcel Post which is 4-10 days for delivery. Of course anything can happen between here and there.

I can relate to that iluvtink! When I took my class (11 year olds) to the wild animal park last year (the same one as the penguins were taken from!) we went over to the elephant enclosure and were greated by the same site. At which point one of my kids asked "Miss what are the elephants doing?" I didn't know what to say except "Who wants to go see the tigers!" All I can say was that elephants have very large and very obvious male "parts"!!

I'm really greatful RRBB. I'll be excited to recieve the box whenever it gets here:hyper:

I think this is the best part of the swap...the Anticipation part...I can just picture all of your little faces... And Tonight I can open my Parsnip chips... (thank you Lewski709!!!!!

:bounce:

  it's late here so time for  Have a great evening everyone.
