Girls just wanna have fun. Oh girl just wanna have fun. (sorry can't stop now...must sing...) Woke up, in the morning light, my father says what you gonna do with your life. Oh daddy dear you're still number one but girls they wanna have fun. Oh girls just wanna have fun.

(I used to do a great impression of Cyndi Lauper singin' "Money Changes Everything". Well, it was a good impression after a few drinks on Friday night. ;) )

DH was bigtime into INXS. We saw them live at Ithaca College. :Pinkbounc

What, no Duran Duran? These were the hit songs when MTV was REALLY good.....oh, how I miss those days............

24 and I just started collecting 80's music,2 cd's and some old Prince cd's plus a Janet Jackson from the library I'm grabbing tracks from

Are you waitressing? I thought I remember you had said that before.

I waitressed for 5 minutes when i was in college.. I got the first order and dropped everything... (another career door closed..)

And I rannnnn. I ran so far away....couldn't get away. :Pinkbounc

There are quite a few of us who "enjoyed" the 80's, huh? My favorite outfit?

Jeans that were tight around the ankle--two toned denim (one side light denim, the other dark)

My striped shirt with the snaps that ran diagonally down from the top to the middle.

And of course my tan suede Peter Pan boots!

Remember leg warmers? What were those all about?

How about Flashdance-style ripped sweatshirts?

I bet RickinNYC had a mullet. Of course it would be a very stylish mullet--big on top and just to the base of the neck in the back????? :teeth: Flock of Seagulls

Hey, I had that A-symetrical hairdo. The one that came up to the ear on one side and down to the neck on the other. Kind of like a bob that was cut by a drunken hairdresser.

So what are people doing this evening? I'm not planning to do a lot except do the internet grocery shopping order and maybe plan the kids homework sheets. A pretty boring evening really but it will be relaxing which wil be nice.

Don't want to spoil any surprises!!:hyper: :hyper: :hyper: But it's something to keep the kids busy and had to do with an old QOTD!! No guessing! May not be able to tell until we get back.

We only have the desktop so unless SOG has their computer access back up (doubtful) then I won't be on until I get back on the 7th...or rather until sometime the 8th since we'll probably get back pretty darn late :)

My THANKS to everyone who sent chocolate (no spoiler there...ohana already spilled that particular bean...) I REALLY needed some today as my Easter stash is almost gone and I needed if for coping! DD has banged her poor head twice today...one bruise so far and waiting for the other to show... Had to take them shopping with me for shorts...usually go at night after DH is home but too much to do tonight (pack, tie-dye our Mickey shirts, laundry, etc.) so had to be today. They were unbelievably good while we were out, but Abbie fell in the van and whacked her forehead so hard we almost went to the ER!! Kept an eye on it while we got Walt's hair cut on base and then just came home so she could get some Tylenol and take a nap. Poor dear was still snuffling when she fell asleep. But, no funny pupils, no vomiting, etc. so I think we're ok... Just been lots of tears so my head is pounding...and chocolate seems to help soothe...

Well, DS is trying to avoid his nap so I must be going for now!!

A MULLET???!!! Good God in Heaven NO!

Never had one. In the early 80's while in high school, my hair was a tad longer, parted in the middle, kinda surfer boy meets Sean Cassidy. Prescribed to the preppy look with layered polos with collar(s) up, oxford shirts, docksiders, pink/green. Blech.

Then in the mid-late 80's, I sported the ever popular flat top. Ripped and bleached jeans. LOTS of black, whether jeans, mock turtlenecks, those stupid black gaskets on the wrist that have seemed to come back recently, black t-shirts, black cardigans. Was very "new wave." Double blech.

But a mullet... bite your tongue!

Boy oh boy, Bawb and I were talking and I think if Joe, you, Bawb, Hugg and myself got together at WDW....there would be newspaper headlines. ::yes::

What does this have to do with Joe being sweet you ask? Absolutely nothing. I just wanted to respond to you, so you knew it was directed at you and you would PAY ATTENTION. :teeth: :earseek:

I'm paying attention. You must be chanelling my Mom. Is that you? Ma???!!!

#1. Nope. You wouldn't be mistaken for my people. It's all in the attitude baby.

#2. I don't have a New York accent. Joe does BIG time! But I don't have any accent to speak of. I used to sound like a Dukes of Hazzard reject but I made myself lose it. Now, people tell me that I should do radio or be a newscaster. So NOPE! No accent. Fuhgeddaboudit.

I remember when I was little and in school in the early 80's I was envied by my friends as I had a 4 layer ra-ra skirt and theirs only had 3 layers (my mum made mine!). And yes I used to wear it with leg warmers!!

kadaten I'm so jealous! You live in VA. How did you get it so quick? I forget - what method did you use Ohana? Anyway, more importantly, kadaten, did you eat mine yet? If so, did you like? Just tell me this much:

Very yummy<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_3_65.gif' border=0></a>
Tasty<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_8.gif' border=0></a>
Too strong<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_6_4.gif' border=0></a>
Not strong enough<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_4_34.gif' border=0></a>
Dried up because it was waiting so long to be swapped<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_11_26.gif' border=0></a>
I just don't like it<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_3_64.gif' border=0></a>

Lewski what you doin'? Shouldn't you be deligently ordering up steel and such?

CSatine, do you have digital music channels on your TV? If you can figure out how to do it, I know it can be done I just don't know how, you could get lots of good songs from there. I'm sure you just hook the right wire to the right hole and it will work.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/26/26_3_113.gif' border=0></a> How much time do you have, is it for his birthday?
