PM with that info. If we did end up buying do you get anything if we give your name? My DP who is usually the one I have to convince has already said if we get a bounceback she wants to go. LOL And so the curse of Disney goes on and on and on. LOl

It's addictive pixie dust!!

It's always nice when your partner also appreciates the Disney magic. ;) Or shares in the obsession like mine does. I PM'd you the other info. DVC is not a hard sell place. They said 80% of the people who buy, do so after going back home and working the numbers.

I agree with you. It isn't a hard sell. Hubby and I were talking to a guide about the same time we decided to build. And we were this close to buying. When we backed out at the last minute she was very understanding and even congratulated us on deciding to build a new home. We still go back and forth with doing it even now. By time we decide its a go we will probably be to old to enjoy it. :lmao:

That would be wonderful you know. We go to Florida 2 or 3 times a year we just go visit family. And... I happen to believe that Monkey Mouse and Nonald Nuck are family really...

I do so agree! And I never understand those who are like mob angry against it. Why would you diss something that does nothing but make people happy and broke. ok... maybe the broke isn't the good part but hey it gives us reasons to work right?

That is good to hear... but you will never be too old to enjoy Disney. It makes you feel YOUNG and ALIVE. Hey... we Dis'ers should be Disney Commercials. :yay:

It isn't. You gave her a cell phone, you gave her your car, it doesn't take but a minute to say "Hey, not dead. Talk to you later!"

That struck me as pretty amusing. :rotfl2: "Hey, not dead" :rotfl2: My morbid sense of humor and all.

Ok you guys I need everyone's advice!!

I am thinking of switching one of our park days.

Right now, Sunday the 14th is scheduled to be an Epcot day, with dinner at Garden Grill.

However, it's EMH at the MK that night, and I'm thinking it would be neat to be able to be there and stay late (should be open until 11:00pm). I'm sure it'll be good and busy, but it's the novelty and fun of being there at night, after dark, etc.. I'm sure the kids would LOVE it. MK after dark is especially "magic!"

That would make the next day our Epcot day instead, so we could sleep in a bit and then still have a full day there. We have an ADR for Chef Mickey's that evening, so we could just hop the monorail to TTC and then take the resort monorail to CR. Having seen Illuminations on our 1st Epcot day, we would then just head back to our resort after dinner to swim and relax.

The real "but" at this point is finding another ADR for Sunday at this late date. Obviously, without Hoppers, if we're not IN Epcot, we can't EAT there!

Ok, as I've written this I'm talking myself into the switch, but I'd still love to hear anyone's opinions/ideas!

THANKS!!

.

I'm so behind (thanks stupid nasty virus that has had me cough-barking like a seal for three days).

I'm so not rereading a bajillion pages (thanks laziness!).

But I am SO here.

Is that enough?

Yes, that is enough. Glad to have you.:flower3: Feel better soon.

LegoMom, I would try to make it to MK for the evening hours too. I don't have a clue how difficult it is to change ressies though.

I would love to have a complete review of the cabins. I keep looking at them. The camp ground is beautiful. Sigh.... Just yesterday I was telling hubby that we needed to buy a camper. I grew up going camping and loved it. I miss it. Of course we tent camped back then and that wouldn't work for me now. I have fibromyalgia and Osteo Arthritis. So sleeping on the ground would be a NO-NO.

If we use them, I'll do a complete TR, deal?

....and I'm BAAACK!!!

Work called just before I was getting ready to go with a last-minute day-off call!

So now I can DIS all day and keep the coffee pot a-brewin'! :rotfl: Well, I can't DIS all day, but for a while this morning anyway.

Got my coffee, got my Rope Drop Music playing....Life is good. :goodvibes

Oh, and 32 days!!!!!!!!!!!!

.

Coffee. . .I need some. 32 Days? Wow. I'm just a little jealous.

creativeamanda, I too would love. to stay in a cabin. The full kitchen would come in handy to have a big breakfast in the morning. We would def use it and save $ on food. Some people don't like the fact that they only have 1 bathroom, but I only have 1 bathroom at home so that's not an issue to me. I have no idea how difficult it is to change your ressie, but I hear people do it all the time.

Yeah--the breakfast in the am has me thinking. I should have thought to rent DVC points, but the idea of a kitchen and bunk beds for the kids is heavenly.

Here is a link to some Fort photos - it includes quite a few of the cabins, inside and out:
http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/g_ftw.htm

And, here is some general info on them:
http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_fw.htm

Scroll down past the first box with camp site info and you'll get a whole bunch of stuff on the cabins (including an exhaustive list of what's included!).

I love the Fort and can't wait to stay there again...:lovestruc

.

Thanks for that info. I was showing it to dh, who thought it was great.

I don't think an ADR at CP would be difficult to get, even at this late date. I seem to remember when we went in 2007, getting an ADR at 5:00 at CP the day of. I looked at the UG site and the crowd calendar looks low (I won't post the number so I won't get in trouble). You should be fine. With MNSSHP being around the time, you are going to have a hard time finding Spectro days anyway, so the trade would probably be good. The guys over at TGM would disagree, but on a low crowd level day, I don't think it would be horrible. We're going to DHS on a EMH day and AK on an EMH and when we went to Epcot in 2007, it was an EMH. We didn't have trouble with crowds and even with Epcot walked onto Soarin at about 6pm with a 25 min wait.

Yeah, I don't read when I'm a zillion pages behind, either. Chalk it down as laziness, if you want. I tend to chalk it down as ADHD--all those pages have me so overwhelmed! :rotfl: I was wondering where you were, Tink.

I was wondering where you were, Tink.

I spent Sunday comatose on a friends' couch while the BF played Xbox with them all day.
I spent Monday in a hacking cough coma at work, developing a fever by mid-afternoon and day dreaming about Nyquil.
Yesterday I FINALLY started to feel better and actually did some DISing.
Today I'm about 90% myself.
I abhor being sick in the summer but I'd rather it be this week than during my vacation next week!

My advice is to quickly move to Florida, buy an annual pass, then you won't have to worry about being able to hop from park to park. Not practical or realistic, but I stand by my recommendation. :rolleyes1

Happen to have any convincing strategies for a resistant boyfriend?
I mean, OTHER than clocking him with a mallot and moving house and home while the birdies are still chirping over his head a la Silly Symphonies.

Bring him in the Winter. Our 70-degree weather seems to sucker many people into our 9-month long 90-degree Summers.

Yeah--get all of the illness out of the way now. It never fails. Someone almost always gets sick when we are on vacation.

Let's just all get a house together. And if we do, can my BIL, SIL, and DN come stay with us? They have annual passes, too, and got me addicted to Disney.

Okay, guys. Here is another scenerio. The June trip. I am looking at my school's 2008-2009 calendar and thinking. I have always wanted a solo trip. We can go as a family to Disney the Christmas Harry Potter opens at Universal, but I don't get enough time off during the summer to take a vacation because I work 2-3 days a week. DH goes with a friend to Baltimore every June. I really, really, really want a short solo trip. So I was thinking. March 13 is a staff development day, but if we stay nights for parent-teacher conferences, we get that day off. If I take a half day on March 12, drive down, I can stay the 13, 14, 15 of March. I can visit Epcot, MK, and DHS (don't flame me--I'm not an AK fan) and drive back Sun night. Anyone ever done a solo trip? I'd really like a little break sometime. I need a vacation from work. And by that time it'll be close to IEP season and I'll really need a break. So what do you all think?

So what is it like there in October? More specifically, call me anal for wanting to start packing 2 months ahead, but here I am. It's time to weed out summer play clothes and I will be buying Mickey crocs next week. I want to know if I should just put the summer shorts into the Disney box or not.
