Swwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeettttt.

Ok, you know what is freezing over. I told DD14 the other day that I would like her to clean her room. She does pretty much nothing all day except lie around and watch tv after I get her up around 10:15. She actually started to clean her room today. I'm starting to see the carpet again. :scared1: Shocking, I know.

Ok, this is probably the wrong place to ask, buuuuuuuuutt: how early is to early to plan a trip to WDW? I told DD that I would like to take her to the world for a high school graduation present. She graduates in 2014 and there is no way that I'm going to Florida in June. I don't do heat and I don't do crowds. I told her that we could go in December 2014. The temps are my kind of temps in December and the crowds are smaller.

PaMom....you already know the answer to that question. It is never to early to plan a trip to Disney. :goodvibes

kimmar....Love, Love, Love the new ride!!

Hello everyone.

Right now I don't feel like I have a life. Life has gotten in the way. :lmao:

Hey... where'd everyone go?

Does anyone know how early you need to get to rope drop @ MK?

Sorry can't help with that one. We never made it to rope drop. Our 1st family trip that took us YEARS to save, my daughter and I were very sick. I got better as the days went on and she along with her asthma got worse. There was no jumping out of bed early for us.

The last trip we were not able to stay onsite so we went arrived at the parks mid morning and stayed into the night. Not easy to get my teenagers up early anyway. Allowing them to sleep in a little makes everyone's day more pleasant. :rotfl2:

Might as well start researching where you want to stay and things to do that can't be missed. Planning is part of the fun.

YEP!!....Catch a bus no later than an hour before the park is scheduled to open. On my recent solo trip I would typically be on the bus at 7:30 (parks were opening at 9:00); usually arrived around 8:00, and by 8:15 I was suitably positioned at the turnstyles, ready to head in. I found they would let you through the turnstyles anywhere from 8:30 to 8:45. (and of course adjust these times based on park opening).

And that was with low crowds (4s on the crowd calendar). If it's a peak time, I would try to arrive even earlier since you'll have more people trying to get through bag check and such.

If the opening is at 9am, then I would be at the bus stop no later than 8am to go over. They'll let you through the turnstiles at around 8:30 am and then you should be right in front (but to the left or right side, not center) by 8:40 for the welcome show.

...don't know 'bout everyone else, but we just got back from upstate N. Y. ....got tons of

to do.....BLECCCHHH!!!

My husband's family is from upstate New York. I learned that you don't go there for Thanksgiving or Spring Break if you don't like snow. . .

Good morning, nanners!

A little chuckle for you all.

Last night, while DH was giving DS a bath, I sat down at the computer and made up a whole spreadsheet, pricing included for various components, for a possible 2011 trip.

It's a disease. Oddly enough, after I made that spreadsheet, I wasn't any closer to deciding what I really wanted to do. Good thing it's over a year away, huh? :lmao:

That leaves plenty of time to make more spreadsheets. ;)

My dear friend (or as younger people say, my BFF :lmao:) is here with her family renting a place on the lake. Wonderful to see them and a great escape from reality.

Well, yes, as SadieDog pointed out, you DO have time for more spreadsheets!;) While I do put lots of time and detailed effort into my trip planning, I can't say that using a spreadsheet is something I've ever tried! How does that work for you?

I must admit that that's something from the northeast that I do miss.....summer days at a lake. Lakes here aren't the same; they're much more like your "ol' swimmin' hole" type of deals. Too muddy, too murky. And, quite frankly, in the middle of summer, too warm!! Hope you guys have a great time visiting!:thumbsup2

Ok y'all.....two words: Half. Marathon.

running-093.gif

I am SO inspired by our gal Tink and her plan to do the Princess Half Marathon at Disney next winter.....I'm already making great progress with my running; I can't not do this!

Plus it means another solo trip.....:rolleyes1

The one big red flag is that it's peak season for resort rates. But, I'll only be going for a few days, so I think that even without any discount I could make it work. I probably wouldn't do the dining plan this time (even the QS plan) because I can eat for pretty cheap if I really try.

Anywho, the gears in my head, they are a turnin'!
