Well, right on cue, I'm getting dinner ready to cook and the thunder is rumbling! DH took the boys to the beach but I expect to see them very soon.

Just listened to the Preakness Stakes on the radio (felt like the Waltons...). Dang filly took it away from the Derby winner. If he'd found an opening on the rail, he could have taken it, but he had to go wide. Still, he came from behind - again!! - and took 2nd by only 3/4 of a length.

...I watched that race - it was very exciting! I thought Mine That Bird was gonna win....

MeanQueen, that peppermint mocha sounds so yummy! I don't drink coffee anymore, but if I did, I would definitely try that. All this talk of donuts is making me hungry.

LegoMom, I can't get over the storm clouds. WOW! Those are some beautiful pictures.

And speaking of beautiful pictures, Creativeamanda, you took some really great ones with that new camera! I really love the first one where the eyes are in shadow through the fence, very artistic looking.

HEY!...It's raining here!!.....all day!!! (yes this is a good thing)

I woke up to some thunder sometime in the wee hours, and it's coming down pretty good right now.

Although I'm good and confused now...all week the afternoon storms rolled in from east of Tampa and went out to the Gulf. Today, it's coming in off the Gulf and moving up into central FL....

Well that's probably more FL weather than you ever wanted at 7 o'clock on a Monday morning!

Let's loosen it up a bit with a LOLcat....

I am so not in the mood for this Monday. Sorry, guys, my inner chipper cheerleader needs some help.

DS sounds really bad still, and I'm thinking it's not allergies or it's allergies that have turned into a cold. He has a bad cough and runny nose pretty much constantly, so I'll be calling the pediatrician's office today.

Aw, thank you. Seriously, can we just pretend this day didn't start the way it did?

Case in point. I'm a little tired after having stayed up late, and this morning, I can hear DS asking DH to get him breakfast and I can hear DH not doing it.

So I get up, walk out to the kitchen, and DS asks for toast. Okay. So I'm in the process of making the toast, and I go to get some juice out of the fridge for him to drink. And when I go to get the juice (I'm tired and not fully functional yet), I knock over DH's two liter container of homemade iced tea. He uses old soda containers, and you know how the plastic gets unwieldy over time? Normally, this would be no big deal, right? Well, what DH failed to realize / mention is that he left a cup full of tea BEHIND the two liter bottle. BEHIND it. So the bottle falls back, the cup knocks over and spills tea all over the fridge.

I was so mad at my husband.

I may have used a bad word.

Or two.

Thank you, hon. I think the hardest part for me is other than the cough and runny nose, he's absolutely fine. Which sounds weird, but I just feel badly that I didn't call the doctor sooner. He's just been in such great spirits, I chalked it up to allergies, but it's lasting a bit too long for my taste.

I know, it's been particularly bad this year! And I get allergy shots, and I'm on maintenance level now, so I really don't notice the change in seasons like I used to.

Yes, that is all ours--we have 58 acres in the middle of nowhere, lol. And yes, that garden is the best we've had in a while. Lots of work, though. When the weather clears up, I'll have to take more pics of our farm. It really is pretty. Especially this time of year.

Yesterday was my daughters last dance show. She has been dancing for years. The show was good but it's sad that it's over. How do they grow up so quickly?

It was 46 when I got up and only 51 now.

Hi guys! Thanks for the well wishes for my little nugget. Turns out his allergies did manifest into some chest congestion, so we're back on the nebulizer until his airways clear up and he stops coughing. It's pretty much what I expected, I just feel badly I didn't put him on Claritin sooner this year. He's on Singulair consistenly for asthma, but I just didn't start that Claritin soon enough. Mother's guilt, of course.
