Night, everyone--I need some rest--I have had a migraine coming on for a couple of days, so I'm taking tomorrow off to rest my head. I'm starting to see those nasty spots again, so it's time for some gooooood meds and bed.

I have today off. Off to the bank to pay the mortgage and then to the salon to get my eyebrows waxed. . .

There is a thread on the CB about getting a 50% off coupon from Oprahs website for Payless shoes. I've already printed one off. I think I'll stop by there this morning. You should check it out.

Ok y'all I need to stop multi-quoting and git ta postin' around here!! I want to break that 5k mark and I wanna do it soon! So if you see a lot of me here this weekend, that's why (I mean, other than I like you all soooo much!...). And if no one else is around I guess I'll be talking to myself quite a bit!

Okay--yes--I get them waxed. You know the pictures of the women from the F-LDS sects with the unibrows? That would be me. I would rather not walk through life with a big fat caterpillar on my forehead. Plucking them takes 2+ hours per week. Waxing takes 1 hour per month plus a couple of minutes per week.

Go ahead. Laugh.

I am totally ticked about my child's school district. Sweetie has a disability in written expression. She gets Occupational Therapy. Only the district has not had a therapist all year. I had to ask what was going on before they would tell me--after the 45th day. So it's been two weeks and I've found a private provider (which the school has to pay for), only they want ME to set up payment terms. AND they have unilaterally decided how much services Sweetie deserves, not taking into account regression.

I've had it. I'm usually an okay person about things, but I know the law! I do this for a friggin living, and they are pulling me around like this?

I contacted the state department of education and Parents and Advocacy today.

I bet next week they'll be singing a different tune. And yes, I can be one of those parents.

That is an option, but it would necessitate no more trips to Disney World. Which is a small price to pay in return for a good education. The school is run by my church--an extremely good education with all the things I wish my kids had every day. I even have transportation to the school--2 parents of children I teach work there.

I was in tears earlier today, I was so angry. The coordinator sent me an email, saying that we needed to talk on the phone. I returned an email and said, "We can talk at the IEP meeting." I did not think it was a good idea to talk to her today.

I will, however, be talking to a school board member tomorrow. I bet they don't even know the district doesn't have an OT.

I also get my eyebrows waxed regularly. I get lazy with my plucking and end up looking like Ugly Betty. Isn't DO the one that does threading? That looks painful to me.

Amanda - be one of "those" parents. You know what your Sweetie needs and luckily, you know how to get it. If she's suffering, so are other children. You won't only be helping her by being vocal.
