Sweet Sixteen on the Dream! The Good, the Bad, and the Crazy!

UUUUUUUMMMMM! I would freak out for a moment and my daughter would have a Coronary:rotfl2:

I know! They tell you to stay where you are and they'll come get you, but NOT ME! I'd be running, scooting, crawling my way outta there!:rotfl:

Quiet Cove elevators weren't all that bad, Cabanas was worse I think having to go to the aft elevators through Cabanas

loving your trip report

Thanks for joining in!

what would cause someone to get 'stuck'?

I don't know. I wondered the same thing.

Ok, I was all excited about the AquaDuck til now!! I think I would totally freak if I got stuck in there. And it would totally be my luck that I'd get stuck on the part that goes out over the side of the ship!!:scared1: Like the PP, I wonder what it is that causes people to get stuck in there?!

Great updates! I loved seeing the pictures of the room...it looked nice and spacious!

I'm glad that you e-mailed Disney about the stateroom host...that was awful, and definitely very un-Disney like. The proper people definitely needed to be made aware of him!

I'm thinking, to get stuck, one reason could be -maybe the water pressure/level may get too "low" at some points.??? I'm not sure. But I didn't want to be the one to find out, either!:lmao:

Loving your report. Great pics! So sorry your stateroom host was a bummer. I could get over a lack of personality, but no TP?!? Yikes!!! ;)

Thanks!!! I know! I think the toilet paper issue was just ridiculous. You know you gotta put enough TP in there when you have only women in the room!!!

Another thing I forgot to add about another stateroom host issue was this:
If you read earlier in my TR where I posted pics of the birthday stuff I had signed for DD, on the last night they're supposed to bring the signed items to your room. Well, we were on our way out of the room, walking down the hallway, and past the stateroom host's cleaning cart. He was standing there, and as we were about to walk by, he just handed the bag (clear plastic Ziploc) to DD and said "HERE". It was supposed to be a surprise, which he didn't know this, but still, he just handed it out to her, saying "HERE". I thought they would leave it out on the bed or something at turn-down service. So I grab it out of DD's hand quickly. I don't know if she noticed anything about what it was, but I told her it was my paperwork.

I know, it wasn't his fault, because he had no way to know it was supposed to be a surprise, but since I already had this bad vibe with him, it just made it worse, for him to just say "Here" and give it to her.

I would think he would have at least said "Here's some items that are to be delivered to your stateroom tonight. But I'll go ahead and give them to you now." Not just a simple "here".

Next up: A few pics from our little trip to Atlanta and the Babyland Cabbage Patch Hospital in Cleveland, GA.
Also, you'll find out: What has Mickey Ears and costs $15,000????

Enjoying your trip report! We were on the same cruise too. I think I recall seeing you and your dd :goodvibes

My son was stuck on the aqua duck...poor little guy, he handled it much better than we did. The reason was he was too light. They measure the kiddos to make sure they meet a certain height, which he did to ride solo. But he wasnt heavy enough and became stuck at the dip area. They had to shut down the ride and brought him down. He was a little frightened. He only went on with one of us from then on to make sure the raft was heavy enough. I think the ride was shut for 20mins. We saw this happen to another child, a little girl on Nassau day.

Yep, as squirrelgirl said, you can get stuck on the Aquaduck if your raft is too light. We never had this issue :rolleyes1

Hi there,
Can't wait to hear more!
What was your stateroom host name? (We were originally booked for this cruise but switched to July)
Did you have to request the mini fridge? If so, did you do it online, by phone or guest services?

I never did know of his name. He never introduced himself with his name, not even "Hi, I'll be your stateroom host." Nothing. I was in room #6001, but not sure if he would be assigned to the same rooms for every cruise.

The mini fridges are included in all of the staterooms at no extra cost.

We decided to go to Atlanta for the day. We have been to the GA aquarium before, but wanted to go back since they've recently added a new Dolphin show and exhibition.

I couldn't really get any good pictures inside the show, but here's a few.

They had these cute, dolphin sculptures throughout the aquarium and through the Downtown area.

As you come out of the show, they have a dolphin viewing area

They had a lot of "touch tanks" including ones with stingrays, small sharks, shrimp, horsheshoe crabs, starfish, etc.

Dragonfish
http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn102/***********/AtlantaBabyland054.jpg

Albino Alligator, which are rare. They also have one in the Charleston aquarium.

One of their 3 Whale Sharks. Interesting fact: The only other place in the world that you will see these in an aquarium (other than GA), is in Japan.

Time for lunch! We decided to get a few things to share: nachos, chicken salad sandwich, huge chocolate eclair, and drink. They are pretty expensive. All this was $19 and some change!
DD says to me, maybe slighly embarrased:rolleyes1 "Now, you know you can't be taking pictures of our food all the time. You are not in Florida!"

http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn102/***********/AtlantaBabyland077.jpg

After lunch, we walk around some more, go to the gift shops, and decide to head out and walk around Olympic Park area and Downtown.

Finally it was just too hot, so we decided to go to a couple of Malls in the Atlanta area, and that's about it for that day.
The next day, Grandma calls wanting us to take her to the Babyland General Hospital (Cabbage Patch place), so we decide to go there.

Continued on next post:

On this morning, we decide to go to Shoney's first for breakfast. We love their breakfast buffet, and the closest one to us is in GA. Yes, we do go to GA sometimes just to eat breakfast!:lmao:

This location for the Babyland General Hospital is fairly new. We've been to the old one, but had not yet been to this one.

After we decide not to buy any $15,000 dolls today :rotfl: , we decide to continue through to the main area

Your DS would love the GA aquarium!!
I had a few Cabbage Patch Kids when I was a kid. Now, after seeing how much some of the old ones are worth, I wish I would have kept them all!!!!

We love going to Ga for day trips. We're 2 hours from Atlanta, so we do lots of day trips there. Hoping to get one more trip in before school starts back. We're wanting to go to the Coca Cola place next time.

Loved seeing the pictures of the aquarium! We've never been! We keep saying that we're going to take a weekend and go there and the World of Coke, but we just haven't made it yet. I'm not too fond of downtown, so that's one reason! I'm glad that y'all enjoyed the trip though, and wish we could've met up. Maybe we can on your next trip down!!

I love the pictures from BabyLand! We went there back last summer!

I can't wait to read more!!

After DD spent some time in Vibe, and I walked around exploring the ship, we met back up for the Sail Away party.

They had the comedy act for the show tonight, but we didn't go. DD instead wanted to hang out witht he teens for a while. So after splitting up again, and doing our own thing, we decide to meet back up to the room and get ready early so we could take more pics before dinner.

I can't wait to read more!!

I enjoyed the Olympic Park area, but not so much at the Underground. It seems to get worse everytime we go there. We only spent about 30 minutes at Underground. Hopefully we'll be back before school cause DD likes to shop for back to school at the mall nearby, and we'll probably try to get to the World Of Coke while we're there.

ETA: I didn't realize the pics were huge. I'll have to get back to the right size after this post!

Beauuuutiful pics! That chandelier is GORGEOUS!!!

And I love the pic of the two of you by the porthole...I think that's my favorite. Both of you look great there, especially you!

Hi ***********! Followed you over from my TR! Now I have time to read other TR's, since my stupid photobucket account decided to hate me! :lmao::headache:

Your daughter is super gorgeous! :cutie:

That is SO unfortunate about your stateroom host! Ours was so wonderful to us during our cruise...even the other stateroom hosts that were not assigned to us were terrific! In fact one day, I went to go knock on my brothers stateroom (who was about 20 rooms down from ours) to see what they were doing, and they weren't answering the door The stateroom host in between my brothers host and my host said, "I don't think that's your families door. I believe it's on 10544." And he was totally right! I was knocking on the wrong door. And he wasn't even my stateroom host or my brothers! It was so awesome that he knew that! :goodvibes

And your stateroom is a good size! We're wanting to go on another cruise next Summer, and were thinking about doing an Oceanview or inside stateroom to save some money. Thanks for showing those pictures.

Waiting to hear more!

Thank you!! I'm trying to get back on track with my weight loss. I lost 33 pounds before the cruise, but then gained 2 while on the trip! Guess that's not too bad, considering all my good eating /excercising habits went out the window on this trip!:lmao:

I posted on your TR. Maybe you get a new photobucket account with using another email address?

I know! I heard lots of stories of wonderful hosts, but I don't know what the deal was with ours!

They assigned us a handicap accessible room, so the extra room size was really nice.

Waiting to hear more!

Totally enjoying your TR!! That stinks about your stateroom host...it sounds like you made the best of a bad situation. Keep those pics coming! I'm getting geared up for our Dream sailing in Dec for my birthday!!:yay:

Thanks for the mini Atlanta TR! So much of it looked so familiar, you know, since I just wrote about it myself and all ;)

I'm curious, how much extra was the dolphin show? DH was so irritated that it was an upcharge that he wouldn't even let me check on it

You guys look great dressed for dinner!
