I will be staying at the Swan for the first time in August.
I do know the hotel at all and would like help in finding out what is the best room.
I am an SPG member but have no points yet.
I will be staying concierge.
The only request I put in so far was for a corner room. I've just learned from the reading here that the Swan was renovated. Were all the rooms done?
Thanks for the help.

All the rooms were redone.

Swan does not really have a concerige level. What you have been assigned is the club level. Free breakfast and snacks in the evening (does not include alcholic bevarages). If you are expecting Disney concerige type service you will be disappointed. I got the Club Level on a free upgrade and felt that it was not something I would pay much for. The limited hours of the lounge just don't seem worth the money.

I'm staying club level because I got a good Triple A rate for my stay.
Can you tell me about the club level?
My experience with club/concierge level is the past couple of years at the Poly.
The important thing for me and my family is starting off with breakfast which for us will save us alot and get us off to a good start in the morning.
Anything you can tell me would be of great help.
Thanks!

Don't expect anything like you got at the Poly is the first statement.

Breakfast is a contiental type of meal with pastries, cereal that type of thing. Juice and coffee are also there. They had bottles of water you could ask for, but they were the 8 oz kind which I think are pretty useful.

My big complaint was that the lounge room was crowded. There are a LOT of people using that room for breakfast. One morning I just took my food back to the room.

We had a wonderful stay on club level 12/28-1/02/04. The staff was very helpful and it was never overcrowded. We had great choices for adults and kids for breakfast(cereal, 3-4 types of croissants, 3-4 types of muffins, bagels, white, wheat bread, english muffins for toaster, yogurt, cream cheese, huge tray of wonderful fresh cut fruit; coffee, many types of tea, juices. It was always quickly refilled and Thabo was very congenial and asked each morning if there was anything he could do for us that day. They gladly cancelled PS for me one day. All you had to do was ask for the water and it was no problem. We made afternoon hor d'heurves 3 nights: cheese platter of 4-5 kinds, crackers, french bread, crudite platter and dip, home made cookies 3 kinds, hot appetizer(eggroll or crab rangoon), coffee, tea, soft drinks, other pastries. It is a nice atmosphere in the club lounge and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Turn down service was a nice touch as was the bottled "perrier" type water replenished each evening. As a spg member, this is a nice upgrade. You also get morning paper. We were in 1153 and had a great view of NYE fireworks at MGM and Illuminations at Epcot(but this was from the side). We tried to upgrade with points to a suite but they were all booked. I don't think you will be disappointed with the hotel. It is a Westin with wonderful service.

Connears-
Thank you so much for this info, it is a tremendous help!
The menu items sound wonderful!
I only just became an SPG member so I won't be able to do much since I have no points yet.
You mentioned you were in Room 1153. Now is that room on the club level?
The only request I put in so far was for a corner room because someone in a previous post mentioned that was nice but I welcome any suggestions since I do not know the layout.

The 11th and 12th floors are club level. Access to the lounge is on both floors. We did not have a corner room, but that sounds great. This was the first time we ever stayed at WDW anywhere except DVC since we joined in 1994(OKW, BCV, BWV) and we were not at all disappointed. I don't agree with those who say there isn't the MAGIC of other WDW resorts at Swan or Dolphin.. It is just not true IMHO. We are planning to return to some of the restaurants and use our dvc discount there next trip! You can't beat the service and the location! Have a wonderful time.

I'm so glad you've told me this because I was a bit disappointed when I read all the posts saying there was no "Magic." This will be our 8th year in a row visit to WDW and previously we were always on Disney property. I've always admired the Swan/Dolphin and my travel agent got us a terrific Triple A rate so we figured let's try it.
Besides, I had such a bad experience last Aug. at Poly concierge that maybe it's time to go outside of the property.
Your notes have helped me so much and now I'm really excited!!!
