Survivor: Pearl Islands *OFFICIAL THREAD*

Very happy to see Sandra win....however I think the others were WAY too hard on Lil!

I'm so happy I don't have to puke!

I am very happy for Sandra. Great season.

So happy, too, that Jeff is again hosting the reunion show. He is SO much better than Gumbel and Rosie!

Can't wait until they get to Jon's Grandmother, although everybody will laugh about it now. Wish I could have been in their dens when they realized what he did while watching the show this season.

Yea!!

Their criticism of Lil and the scout uniform had everything to do with her use of it--she was the one who would talk about being a scout master all the time. I think she used the uniform and the scout thing to put a certain image out there. She wanted to be seen as trustworthy and loyal. I think that always backfires in this game. You're more mad at someone you thought was loyal than you are at someone you know is in it for themselves and will do anything.

I'm so psyched Sandra won--I couldn't believe Lil would take Sandra over Jon.

Wait--is Ostin there? I had been wondering if he would be invited to the reunion show.
Yes, he's there. Jeff said he would get to him later when Sandra said something about her poor swimming abilities and that the ocean is different from a swimming pool and Osten agreed.

Okay, I see him in the far right corner. I was thinking that would be pretty harsh if he wasn't invited.

Does anyone else think that Jon might get in trouble for mentioning the All-Star show by indicating that he is on it? I didn't think the players had been officially announced yet.

The All Star show was mentioned on The Morning Show. This was the morning that Rupert was supposed to be interviewed. He was not there and they said rumor has it he is on the All Star Survivor.

I can't believe NO one chewed out Jon for his horrific lie. I really think his grandma was upset but did not want to say anything on public TV.

I loved when Jeff said they called to see if they could do anything when they found out about Jon's grandmother and she answered the phone!

I was more getting at the fact that Jon was saying he was on the All-Star show. Don't their contracts kept them from discussing information before CBS releases it or airs an episode?

Sorry Chell just reread your post. I don't think Jon is on it. I believe he only said that to be funny. I could be wrong. JMO

See, I didn't quite catch what he said there. I THOUGHT he said that perhaps on the All Star show my grandpa will die but DH thought he said that maybe someone's grandpa will die - indicating that others will follow his trend. So, I don't know what to think. I would hate it if he is on the All-Star Series.

I also agree they should have chewed him out for the lie too. I guess they are better people than me, because I can't be that forgiving. After all, they gave up the chance to spend time with their loved ones so he could spend time with his "buddy" to find out more details about Grandma.

She did kind of seem like she wanted to say more, and didn't appear too happy about it. As for All Stars, I've heard that Rupert and Sandra will be on it.

The rumor boards have been saying for weeks that that the final two for tonight would be an older woman and a younger woman, with the younger one winning, but they all thought the evidence pointed to Darrah.

I'm glad Sandra won. I loved her answer about whose coat tails had she been riding when Rupert was voted out on day 27, and she made it to day 39. Even Ryan O seemed to agree with her answer to his question. Great season. One of the best.

I so totally agree with you! And her talk about if she could do it over again she would have left the uniform home was just pitiful in my eyes.

It also drove me nuts how she talked about herself in the third person.

okay, much better outcome than the last Survivor.

I remember that the contestants in this particular show thought they were just going to a photo shoot and they wouldn't be starting the game yet, so perhaps Lil didn't intend to wear the scout uniform during the actual game... but she definitely did make a deal of it once it turned out she'd be wearing it for the entire time.

Lil made a tactical error in choosing Sandra rather than Jon but she made it clear that she was guided by her conscience rather than her desire to win. I find it interesting that Lil said she chose Sandra because she couldn't identify with Jon's lifestyle as a young single guy, though. She said she was more comfortable with Sandra because Sandra was also a wife and mother. So that's what it ultimately takes to win the game.

I knew Lil wasn't going to win. The fact she was an outcast had to weigh heavily on their minds, even though Ryan O. was the only one to bring it up. In fact, I don't think she would have won against Jon either, even though when Jeff asked them if they would have voted for her against Jon, four people raised their hands. They were basing their answer after seeing the show, and seeing all of Jon's antics. I think they would have voted for Jon to win against Lil, just for the mere fact she was an outcast. I don't know if the vote would have been six to one in his favor, but I think he definitely would have won and Lil knew that. She said as much and that's why she picked Sandra. She wanted Sandra to win over Jon.
I have to say, I was a little disappointed in the reunion show, I really thought there would be more fireworks, but all in all it was a great season. Can't wait until February 1st:D

They were told to dress for the photo shoot how they would like to be portrayed. She chose to portray herself as everything the boy scouts stood for.

The other thing I highlighted above from your post I found interesting too as she was saying it. I think she thought she would come across as being compassionate or something like that but I took it as her not being very tolerant over lifestyles different from her own. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy she went the way she went but, again, this is not a boy scout image I saw there but one of a prejudice person

One last thing to say before turning off the computer for the night. I have to agree with others, this was really a great Survivor season. And, even more so, for the first time in a long time, I am happy with the Sole Survivor picked.

(Sole Survivor. Typing that phrase just reminded me about how Lil said she and Sandra are the Sole Survivors. Doesn't she realize that Sole means ONE and ONLY ONE? Gosh, she is just so stupid!)

(You can bet I would never ever try out for a Survivor Series or any other reality type show because I would hate to think what millions of TV viewers (like myself) would say about ME! LOL)

Sorry if this has been posted already but it's late and I wasn't going to read back too many pages. Did anyone else get that both Rupert AND JON were going to be on the All-Star survivor?! I was hoping they would show were they were shooting too. Actually I didn't know if Rupert was even going to be there because I thought they were in the process of shooting the All-Stars now. I'm already looking forward to it but I'd really like to know exactly who all was going to be in the next one!
