Survivor: Pearl Islands *OFFICIAL THREAD*

Other delicacies John has keen knowledge of: cheeseburgers and chicken wings.

OHHH - Jon is just plain evil! I soooo can not stand him:mad:
I thought the girls should have bonded together LAST week and my favorite, "T", would still be in the game. I picked Christa tonight as my new fav and low and behold, now she is gone! I do not like Sandra and Burton and Lil don't do much for me. Darrah is like non-existant. We have heard more from her (due to winning ammunities) in the last two weeks than we did for several weeks! And she still seems some-what brain dead. It is getting interesting to say the least...

Oh, and for the record, as a west coaster, I very much appreciate all the east coasters not "spilling the beans" before we get to see the show. Thanks!

Bummer....Christa was one of my last remaining faves....I also don't "get" how the survivors think they don't stand a chance against Lil----I think she is a wet noodle and no matter how "nice" she is, I wouldn't vote for her since she was an "outcast!"

Well, I'm headed over to the official survivor site for details. I missed the first 45 minutes!

I think maybe the poster that mentioned spoilers was just worried that people would start mentioning the spoilers seen on other sites by name - I notice that people have been very careful not to and appreciate it.

All of us west coasters appreciate no spoilers in the thread title - but most of us know better than to open the thread before we've seen the episode! After several seasons of these threads people have gotten really good about no longer doing the thread title spoilers. I'm always disappointed though, if I come on after I watch and see people afraid to discuss the show within the body of the thread.

Rather than having a spoilers-free threat, it might be better to have two threads (Spoiler-free and Spoiler-rich).

On other boards, we can handle spoilers with color, requiring people to highlight the text to see. Unfortunately, we can't know what the background is going to be on this board.

The highlight of the show for us was seeing Rupert again!

This group has taken the show to new lows of deception. Jeff made reference to it at the end of tribal council with his crack about "liers". I understand you have to do just about anything to win the game, but Jon's lies come so easily to him that in my mind, he's not playing the game at all--he's just plain lying!! That's not strategy.

Really could care less about who wins. If Lil or Burton do, then the Survivor concept (outwit/outlast....) has just been broken. If Jon does--well, that would speak for itself.
Too bad--the other shows at least had some characters that folks could rally around until the bitter end. At the moment, Darrah is the one to beat and I think the guys are beginning to sweat her immunity victories.

I still don't see where anyone spoiled anything for anyone. Unless you don't live on the East Coast or you taped the show and haven't watched it yet. In that case, why would you look at the thread right after the show aired in the east?

It is customary on the Internet to reserve posting spoilers until after a program has aired on the Pacific coast. There is a goodly number of people living out West, from what I've heard, so it isn't unreasonable to wait the three hours to post spoilers.

By the same token, I'm one of the lucky few with a TiVo, so for me, 24, for example, is a Wednesday night program, not a Tuesday night program. It is my responsibility to protect myself from spoilers, even to the extent of not reading boards for fear of having a spoiler in the Subject of a thread. My responsibility.

I couldn't stand watching the whole reward challenge. Jon going on about how he knows all about ordering and "fine dining". And the ladies asking (allowing???) him to order for them......barf!!
:crazy2:

The burschetta thing was nasiating!! And the comment by Lil - "what is that???" "Burschetta" like it was caviar or something!
I guess to Jon, fine dining would be Olive Garden! (I like OG, but fine dining it's not! :snooty: LOL)

Now, if you watched the preview for next week closely I think this could be Jon's time to go. Remember in the episode, Christa said that Jon swore on his Grandmother so she felt she had to believe that he wouldn't vote her out. In the preview you see him yelling at Sandra, saying "I swear on my Grandmother" I'm sure she's smart enough to figure out that he is using this Grandmother thing too much, and I'm sure she didn't believe it in the first place. Perhaps this time the ladies will get together and start voting off the guys........we can only hope!:hyper:

I agree they are doing some fantastic editing.......I actually feel sorry for Lil as they make her look so bad. I'm sure she really isn't that gullable in real life!

Finally, I'm sure they also made Jon look better.....it seems to me he is such a goof that I'm sure he's probably worse in real life...........if he uses that "fat lady in wicker" statement one more time.........agh! Again, I almost feel sorry for him at the reunion show........NOT!

You would think that they would listen to Jeff when he speaks. He has been talking about lying so much in the last two TC's. One thing I have noticed over all the Survivor shows that you really need to listen to what he says. He gives out clues if you will just pay attention. He is telling them that someone is really, really lying and they are clueless!

And Lil, what was she thinking? Burton basically told her that he was not taking her to the end. Duh! And then with Sandra and Krista believing Darrah when she said Lil was out. What is with those two girls?

I wonder if some of the rules will change after this show? Or maybe in the next Survivor, everyone will be leary of anyone who says that so and so just died.

Christa on the Early Show . . . she is quite a unique character!

With a wardrobe to match!

Maybe I should have said "rumors". Of the final outcome. THAT'S what I don't want to know.

I missed Christa on the Early Show..how was it?

Am I the only one who doesn't want any of these survivors to win? I don't think I've ever seen so much backstabbing and lying or so many naive people. They just believe everything others say to them. I liked how everyone said they trusted their alliance but they have all been lied to at one time or another. I dislike all these survivors especially Jon so he'll probably win.

I've got $10 riding on Sandra in our office pool, so I want her to win... it'll turn my $10 into $150.

It's funny - the guys are outnumbered right now 3 to 2. They should squirm. If the gals decide to band together no matter what Jon & Burton says, one of the guys goes home next week (I keep praying it's Jon!!!!). Only one person can win immunity, and so even if it's one of the guys the other can be voted out.

That whole "swearing on Grandma" thing is getting old FAST - in the preview for next week it actually came across as SHEAR DESPERATION (Jon almost looked panicked).

I can see throwing a reward challenge because someone suffered a death in the family - but after that, it should hold no weight over the others IMHO.

Did anyone else pick up last night when Jon said that is was his Grandma's dying wish for him to win Survivor. Then they cut to him in a private interview with his **-eating grin? That guy really makes me ill. I don't know anyone in my life who would buy into his pompous, arrogant, witless repartee. And then the 'ladies' allowed him to order for him. That was just laughable. Yes, Jon the "gourmet" who knows how to order Filet Mignon and Brushetta. Big whoop. I am surprised he asked lil how SHE liked it prepared. I have to agree with a previous poster, at this point I don't want any of these people to win. I never much liked Darrah before, but she is the lessor of all the evils right now. If Jon wins, it will be a travesty. Also, if I were Lil I would be embarassed now. I don't know if it is editing, or just how she is, but she really, REALLY is coming off as one HUGE idiot on this show.

From Jon's bio:

He previously worked as a production assistant for a pro wrestler

SSB has wondered where all of the numerous "wrestling" references came from... too funny! The hand signs that he and his friend from back home flashed to each other were also wrestling related, from long ago (The Four Horsemen).

He is a snake for certain, but has brought whole new level of "sumpin'" into it, for certain...

My kids were happy to see Rupert last night, also....
