SURVIVOR fans! The game is on! What do you think?(Remember our west coast friends)

The thrill of EDITING. Heidi I think (or was it Jenna?) last night mentioned how even before they were on location they were getting comments and looks from the other women. Now that WE WOULD NOT know about, would we? And the other women didn't chime up to say that wasn't the case, did they?

That shouldn't worry them, what others were saying or giving looks about them if they are self-assured and happy with themselves young woman. Maybe if they had tried and included the gals they felt were "less" it might not have lead to those sterotypical attitudes that arose.

I didn't really care for Joanna or the other lady with the short hair, her name won't come to me right now, but I didn't base that on their age, looks or sexiness. And the same thing went for the younger set, but their obsession with their looks didn't endear them to me either.

Probably the best Survivor with the most disappointing ending.

Well said. I rank it right up there after the first one, except I thought Richard did deserve it, unlike Jenna. (He did after all come up with the whole alliance/strategy part of the game while his companions had no plan, except for Sean voting folks off alphabetically). Meanwhile, there must be a lot more that we aren't seeing to explain why no one else voted for Matt. It just doesn't make sense. I also get a feeling there must be a lot of politicking and conversations between the voted off members. I'm convinced Deena was the one who convinced Christy she had to vote for Jenna because of Deena's whole man vs woman obsession.

I'd really like to hear Rob and Dave's reasons. I don't know why they didn't follow up on the other jury members voting reasons.

Why should they have had to "prove" anything?

I was just going by something you posted above that you had to work harder and prove yourself, and thought they might feel the same way.

I missed the early show this morning......can someone please give us a run-down? Thanks!!!

didnt get to see the morning show, but on the news last night ...they had a big story with jenna and her family(being from the pittsburgh area) she said that she wouldnt mind being hooked up with matt..in her words "he has the whole package"..just like tarzan.." she also answered the question whether or not she would pose for playboy...said she has no problem with taking off her clothes, so we'll have to see.!
i am also dissapointed she won, but I'm glad she fessed up to being a spoiled brat and shes young and learned from this...
i think alex is the biggest jerk of all..could it be that he was just jealous of matt...?... as far as heidi having the highest IQ...i guess that doesnt say much for the rest of them...maybe scholasticlly intelligent but no common sense...gonna miss this board, on to AI........

I know where you got the "proved" from. What I meant was, why should I have had to "prove" myself in the first place? If I would have come into this job closer in age and such as the others, there wouldn't have been the problems there have been (and continue to be).

Jeanna, Heidi and Shawna may have had to deal with the same sort of thing so I can understand some of the comments they made. Not that I go around making the same comments, I know better, but I am also a little older than them and more mature, having to work in a professional workplace.

I can't believe Jenna won. I wonder if it was a sympathy vote.

Anyway, I am not as into it now as I once was. The games are all the same, and there is really nothing new and innovative. They need to think of some new challenges.

As for the people, I hope there is someone on the next Survivor I really want to win... I was hoping for Christi or Butch, and am glad they got as far as they did, but I can't say I particularly LIKED any of that group of Survivors.

Last night Jeanne clearly said that any animosity they felt from her was because they weren't working. All the "older" women I've seen interviewed have laughed off the "pretty" comments. It was the work ethic that was the problem.

Even if you just base all your prejudice on the last few survivor episodes, the younger crowd comes off as not wanting to work. Yes, I'd say that the younger people would have to "prove themselves". You prove yourself by acting like an adult - something the young girls didn't do very well.

I feel like I wasted 14 hours of my life that I can never get back. The only way it could have ended more poorly is if Rob would have won.

It's like reading a great book that has a really crappy ending.

First off, I am so disgusted with myself - I FELL ASLEEP and woke up about 1/2 hour into the reunion show - ARRGHH! I couldn't even tell who won until the very end when Jeff mentioned 6 votes for Jenna.

Who was it that said there were votes being placed in Vegas for Jenna and Matt to be the final 2? I knew they would be from that, and that was a few weeks ago.

I have a feeling Rob acted angry at Matt because he knew Matt threw the final competition and was expecting that whoever would win would carry him. Rob had to WORK FOR HIMSELF for a change, instead of relying on deceiving others. I'd be upset, too, that I didn't think of stepping down first and letting Matt win.

I didn't want Jenna to win, but she may have because of her mother's illness. It could be that Matt told people to vote for whoever he was up against, that he only wanted to "see if he could make it to the end." That's kind of the feeling I got from Jenna's little speech, and nobody seemed surprised.

It was a good series, but I didn't like the winner. On to the Pearl Islands! :)

Alex's obvious hatred for Matt makes me wonder if he "swayed" the jury. If he was constantly telling stories about Matt, even embellishing them, he may have been the reason the vote was so lopsided. I mean, I know they talk. Diana

Oh yeah, I think this has a lot to do with it. Usually when a player gets voted off, and especially in many of the cases this season, the person is angry, shocked and confused. And who do they get thrown in with right after? The existing jurors. I think this makes them ripe for being influenced on what happened and who's deserving of a vote. If you noticed during the last few shows, the jury clearly had some thoughts about the remaining players which they were discussing together. I noticed a few times one of the jurors looking to Alex and nodding as if to say, "Uh huh...you're right what you said about xxxx"

Like real juries, I think a strong willed and convincing member can sway people that are on the fence.

I think the Christy vote was a product of this influence...and the fact that Matt took part in voting her off too. Remember Butch was the only one to stick with her.

Deena, as others have said, probably voted for Jenna because she was a woman who did very well against the men. And I'm sure Alex helped her go that way too.

Alex was clearly on Jenna's side all the way.

Heidi was a guaranteed Jenna vote.

Dave....I have no clue why he voted the way he did. Must be something I missed between him and Matt. Anyone have any thoughts?

Rob voted for Jenna because she played the game in a manner which he, certainly the most conniving player, could appreciate. Rob respected the fact that she didn't do any work, managed to screw over her share of other players, yet still survived. And Rob probably was resentful that Matt made it so far partly because he "coached" him on how to "play" the game.

Butch, as others have said, played a straight game and stuck to his alliances. He was probably the least influenced by the other jurors too.

It's like reading a great book that has a really crappy ending.

That's the same way I feel. Especially since I knew this was coming after Christi was voted off. Ever since I read on this thread that CBS insiders (or who ever it was) was predicting Matt and Jenna would be the final two, I have had a feeling that Jenna would win.

I still would like to know who smuggled in the candy/granola bar. I wish Jeff would have pursued it to see with anyone would have fessed up after Janet once again denied bringing it. I noticed that Jeanne said that she saw it in Janet's pack and then changed her answer to having just seen it in the box (or something like that).

Rob really was the best player by far. Richard Hatch and Brian from the last season are close seconds. I was talking with my son this morning and we decided the difference between Brian and Rob is that Rob got caught lying, wheeling and dealing and Brian didn't.

I saw the Early Show and Matt and Jenna say that they are just good friends.

Also, when the final four were asked who they thought should have won, I forgot what Jenna said, but Matt said Jenna, Rob said himself and Butch said Matt.

Exactly how I felt. It was the same way I felt at the end of Arlington Road. That movie kept me at the edge of my seat, then deflated me when the bad guys won at the end.

Just a couple of comments that I don't believe anyony else mentioned. the fact that Jenna came off looking so much better at the last TC and the reunion show is probably because she had a chance to get coached. All that time to prepare makes a world of difference.

As far as Heidi's IQ goes, please do not confuse intelligence with wisdom. She may be 'book smart', but she as heck ain't wise.

ITA with this. Those girls were NOT disliked by the older women because of their looks. Heck, the older women were all young once and they were all pretty attractive themselves. Heidi said she acted the way she did because of the glares and dirty looks. They were glaring at her because she was sitting on her bony behind not doing a darn thing!

I was a very attractive slim girl and you know what? I got along GREAT with older, less attractive women. I worked with groups of women in just about every job I held. My beauty was NEVER a handicap. It was a ridiculous statement to make. It's Heidis crappy personality that other women don't like. Now that I'm older and not so attractive and slim, I still get along with anyone. Young, thin, beautiful, old, fat and ugly. All of those things should not matter how you interact with another person.

Heidi, Shawna and Jenna were in the wrong and should not have acted the way they did. Jenna and Shawna will figure that out if they haven't already, Heidi I doubt ever will.

Well, well, well....wasn't that INTERESTING!! I was rooting for Matt, but my HECK, when you get involved in watching a show like this...well...'ya just never know. Some random thoughts...

I couldn't believe Heidi at the final TC trying to get Jenna to say she wanted Heidi beside her!

I agree...Alex came off looking like a real jerk and I was disappointed with Christy's vote. She copped out.

I was impressed with Jenna's ability to think on her feet at that final TC. At 21, I think that's amazing.

Jenna seemed like a different person the final 3 days.

I wish I hadn't known that rumor about Matt and Jenna being the final 2.

I still think it was a great season.

And you KNOW you will all be back for the Pearl Islands...sure looks like a beautiful locale, eh?? And the migrating whales...

My DW had a great idea; wouldn't it be interesting to see a show, or part of a show devoted to showing the jury behind the scenes?

I think there had to be a lot of lobbying for Jenna for the vote to turn out as lopsided as it did. I would love to see the conversations that led to Christy voting for Jenna! I don't have any proof of course, but I can easily see Alex relentlessly campaigning for Jenna.

It was really unfortunate that Deena seemed to let Matt's "best man win" comment weigh so heavily on her decision. I believed Matt when he said he didn't remember saying it. I would guess he was using the phrase as a figure of speech. I know I have often referred to groups that include both genders as "you guys" and I wasn't only speaking to the men in the group. I never saw Matt demonstrate any sexist behavior on the show. I think that vote showed that men are at kind of a disadvantage in the final two when they are up against a woman. Women are much more likely to vote for a woman just because they see all women in an underdog role. It just isn't as important to most men on the jury to make sure a fellow MAN wins.

I need someone to define "playing the game" for me. Is there only one acceptable strategy? Why is the "mislead and deceive" strategy an acceptable way to "play the game", but "riding someone's coat tails is not? Didn't it seem like Robb was respected for being over the top deceitful, Matt was kind of penalized for only being a little deceitful toward the end of the game? I think it's silly to question someone's integrity for being deceitful in the game, (isn't that just like bluffing in a card game?) but do you HAVE TO be deceitful to be a "real player"? And, I don't remember Jenna being a real "player" until late in the game, around the same time as Matt.

It seems like Jenna and Heidi and even Alex had a real sense of entitlement; to letters from home, to stop working when their alliance became "invincible", to ice cream (that Deena the 'fat pig' ate with Dave instead of them), etc... and they were very offended that any of the other Survivors had the audacity to try to claim the prize that rightfully belonged to one of the cute, cool players. I whole heartedly agree with Miss Jasmine's statements that attractive people, especially young attractive people, are often resented and held to a higher standard by "average" colleagues (I've witnessed it on several occasions!), but the behavior of Jenna, Heidi, Alex and Shawna was shameful.

This was a great SURVIVOR, not nearly as predictable as most with the powerful alliances always getting broken up, Thank You Robb!

Why does anyone think that the producers would fix the game to keep the winners alternating male-female? What's the incentive? Are more people likely to watch if the winners are male-female?

Sorry for the long post with too many "quotation marks"!

I'll be watching....

Ok, who can help explaining this? Why exactly did JEnna and Heidi strip for the chocolate and peanut butter? I didn't get it then and I still don't. If they wanted it, they could have just jumped in. Why strip first? If they were trying to distract the men, so they'd fall off, then why'd they jump in afterwards?

Or was that part of the deal? Whoever wanted the peanut butter had to strip and then jump in??? I don't get it.

Jean did say the reason the older women were giving the cute girls the dirty looks is because they weren't WORKING and that it had nothing to do with their appearance. The mere fact that they assumed it was about their appearance just goes to show how warped they are! JMO!

I believe that after standing there for a while Jenna said (it could have been Heidi), "I'd get naked for peanut butter and chocolate" (or something along those lines). To which someone (Rob?) said, "Someone please get that lady some peanut butter." Shortly thereafter Jeff came out with the peanut butter & chocolate. And before you could say boo, Heidi & Jenna were stripping and heading for the food.

One of them (I believe Heidi, might have been Jenna) said that this began before they were on location, thus no one would have know how lazy they would be at this point in time.

As for the chocolate and peanut butter incident I chalk that up to moronic immaturity. Kinda like streakers in college.
