SURVIVOR fans! The game is on! What do you think?(Remember our west coast friends)

I agree -- I think they *all* show their vote to the camera and make a comment regarding their vote, and editing is all that makes it seem like only a few speak.

Which begs the question -- what were they reading, or were they just looking into the camera?

chell, On those "best of Survivor" tapes I got, they showed each person voting. They almost always made comments about who they were voting for and why they were voting that way. They showed their vote to the camera, while making the comments. Most of those comments seem to have been edited out of what we see on TV. :)

I'm sure each person shows their vote to the camera and says something, but they only show the ones that want you to see. What I was referring to was just as they were walking up to the table to vote. I wish I had taped it so I could replay it and explain it a little better.

Does anyone else want to feel Matt's arms now? Last night he looked SO much better. After seeing him last night I want to feel his arms! ;)

..........First, I find it very, very interesting at the reactions on this thread. All season, most people have agreed that this was the best season at least since Australia, if not ever. But now that someone (generic) you don't like, it's suddenly the worst season? Interesting switch.........
This statement made me feel defensive as one of the many posters posting last night prior to this quote. Only two people stated prior to the above statement that they are seriously considering whether they will ever watch Survivor again. And when a poster made a comment about "the worst survivor ever" I believe she was talking about Jenna herself, the winner - the "sole survivor", - not the show itself.

Yes, many of us (actually all of us posting last night) were a teeny tiny upset with the outcome. I publicly admitted throwing my slippers at the T.V. and cursing! But that didn't mean I considered this the worst of the Survivor series.

We were just very passionate about who we favored out of the final two and vocalized our disappointments. In my mind, hardly a switch in opinion on the overall season.

I just needed to clarify that point.

Edited to add: I STILL believe the Best Survivor (person) ever was Rodger from Australian Outback with Kathy from Marquesis running a close second.

chell, I taped it. I'll have to rewatch that part. Sounds interesting! :)

I rewatched it. It looks to me like the jury was just looking over the camera crew.

Random thoughts:

Matt is pretty darn cute...who would have known?

There is definite chemistry between Matt and Jenna...

Jenna.... :(

Christy...I was really pulling for her, but you know what? She is not that bright, IMHO. She had no real sense of who she was loyal to or how she was playing the game.

Butch...total class act.

My personal favorite Survivor was the one with Colby, Roger etc....

Thanks for watching it again and letting us know!

Im going to add something here, I dont know if this was mentioned before but I noticed that whole editing thing. The way they edited made Matt look like a really great guy (and Ill second the VERY Cute (at the end)) and Jenna looked like someone who would be voted out because of their attitude, however, she got 6 of 7 votes. I think they edited to make her seem worse so that it was more shocking that she won. Im sorry if this post is redundant but just happy because I finally figured something out...lol.

Yes, I was one of the one's who stated I was not sure I ever wanted to watch Survivor again.

Well, none have held my interest like that of the 1st Survivor....although I wanted the older man..can't remember his name, to win. But, Richard ws a serious player.

I think it would be neat to get the top 3 players from the 1st 6 Survivors to play against each other.l

Yes, I will probably watch again, but I still do not feel Jenna deserved to win.

Tulirose, I share your viewpoint wholeheartedly. And I want to add, I think you were clarifying my post. If that's the case, I want to THANK YOU for that! You are absolutely right. I specifically said that was the worst survivor (i.e. meaning the person, not the show). I stated she was the least deserving. It remains my point of view.

All the editing in the world doesn't change the remark Jenna made while she and Alex were talking about the others working their butts off. She said, "...and the hardest thing I have to do today is picking out what outfit to wear to TC." UGH. IMO that's not a characteristic of a winner.

So she won anyway. Major disappointment. I don't understand how people can *forget* how she weasled out of working. I don't understand how people can view Matt as riding the coat tails of everyone and not view her in the same light. She contributed the least and took a lot from the tribe(s).

That's my 2 cents on the matter.

Speaking of 40-day vacations, I know at least the final four all get some kind of award money. What about the other 12? Do they all get something? DO some of the get something? Does anone know and have the breakdown of the prize money? I was thinking if I could at least get something to make up for the 40 days out of work, I wouldn't mind going on Survivor, getting voted off first and enjoying 40 days in a tropical location :teeth:

I think in Big Brother they get $750/week. (I could be off on the exact amount) But, I have never heard of the non-winning Survivors getting anything.

I believe there is a standard acting pay scale. Each one of the survivors receives X amount of dollars for each day they were actually on tape and for the final show. I've heard it can be anywhere from $115-$500 a day.

So while those who got kicked off early may have been staying there for free, I don't think they were getting paid to stay there. It would be interesting to find out for sure.

Tap, tap, tap... Is this thing on??:teeth:

Well, I can hear. :D

BTW, it would be really awesome to have a DISer to root for!! I am NOT volunteering, tho.

Whooo! What a relief!
Thank you, d.kurz!! I should go on Survivor. Apparently, I would have no problem flying way under the radar. :teeth:

Tap tap tap. Yes, I I think it is. ;) I believe their pay is above and beyond any winnings Dave. Unles I'm mistaken, once they are taped and televised they are considered actors and must be paid scale whether they win any money or not.

Lucky I believe that is only if they have a SAG card, and these people don't. That's why reality television is so cheap.
