SURVIVOR fans! The game is on! What do you think?(Remember our west coast friends)

I'm extremely upset at the outcome like the rest of you - I was really hoping Matt would win.

Wanted to share a comment from my 13-year-old DS. Many of you are remarking about how Heidi is such a bad role model for the girls that she teaches. Well, my DS13 isn't immune as a guy. Granted, at 13 he's going thru the whole body-image thing (he still hasn't hit his growth spurt so he's the shortest one in his class). He's also one of the smartest in his class, which makes the teachers love him and all the kids tease him. So once it was announced that Jenna won, DS13 made the comment that it's just like at school, it's not how smart you are or how hard you work, it's all in how you look. Pretty sad, isn't it? :(

Where to begin...??? I am so shocked at the ending but I must say I like Jenna better after hearing her talk and fessing-up to her behavior on the show. I have to remember that she is only 21 and maybe a little inmature for her age. Anyhow, as everyone was saying I also can't believe that the vote was so lop-sided. I thought maybe it would come down to the final vote but apparently I thought wrong.

Maybe someone can help me with this one...why was Rob so completely upset with Matt after he got voted out? He made the comment that he didn't want to vote for either Matt or Jenna and wished there was a choice "c" he could vote for. Did something happen that I missed? It wasn't like Matt won the challenge and chose Jenna over him for the final two.

Overall I think this was the absolute best Survivor of them all, even the first one!! After last season being the worst one this was make it or break it with me. I just hope next season is even half as good. I hate to see this thread ending but I look forward to seeing all of you on the AR thread next! Can't wait!!!

Will the real Jenna please step forward . . . .

Last night on the reunion show Jenna acted like this had been a learning experience and seemed to be embarrassed by some of her behavior on the show.

They just had a thing on our local news where Neleh interviewed Jenna and she seemed every bit the spoiled Jenna we saw every week. Neleh has been pretty vocal about the "pretty girls" using their bodies to get ahead and Jenna was saying they would do anything to get farther in the game including using their bodies, etc. I also thought she acted very condescending towards Neleh. :(

While never knowing how these things will turn out, I still was disappointed that Matt only got Butch's vote, at least someone stayed true! I cannot fathom Deena or Christy voting for Jenna, being women or not, and Deena bringing up that part about "may the best man win" crap. For pete sakes, she was the one running around acting so superior for a couple episodes.

I'm convinced now after investing all my time watching this(and yes, I did enjoy this one) that perhaps this could be rigged in some manner. I still can't believe that Matt only got 1 vote and all those others voted for Jenna. And showing Christy saying she wouldn't vote for either evil step sister tells me something is not right with this final vote. Oh well.

Heidi might have a high IQ, but she sure as heck has nothing "deep" within her that shines through as far as being a good person. Seems to me she is too stuck on herself at the moment. I knew she at least would vote for Jenna. I'll never buy into their lame excuses for saying they were "younger, prettier, sexier" etc., they really felt superior in those ways, it was not an "act". Heidi was so lame explaining why she acted that way, cause she is so physical and smart???? and didn't want that held against her...sheesh....can you same bimbo? IQ or not.

Alex seems likes a jerk. He said that someone who told the truth about why they were sitting in the final two would get his vote, and I don't think Matt could have spelled it/said it any better than "yes, I lied, was deceitful etc."

Yikes, I'm just bummed about the whole thing. To tell you the truth, Butch showed about the most integrity of all of them and acted the best when all was said and done.

okay, more comments ---

Anyone else think it was funny that during the question period when someone asked about who they lied too Jenna talked about someone she lied to WAY in the beginning obviously forgetting that she had lied to Butch much more recently about not voting for him.

I also noticed Matt and Jenna seeming very chummy during the reunion show. They were holding hands and leaning on eachother through the whole thing.

How long ago were the Amazon episodes taped? Both Matt and Jenna looked so much better now. But if you look at the pic of Matt from the very beginning he was much less scary looking than he was towards the end. It's all the weight loss.

I was amazed that Matt only got one vote, but then I thought about it more and decided that they vote not by who pissed them off less, but by who played the game more. Manipulation can win you votes if you are able to stay in the game. Jenna won because she outplayed them more than Matt did.

I watched the show late last night from tape.. Couldn't watch it live due to Mother's Day activities.. All I have to say is I am extremely disapointed. I feel that (at least based on what the producers showed us) Matt, Butch or Rob deserved the win more than Jenna. What an expected twist. I think I was most disapointed in how Christy voted. Were all her comments posturing or what. Maybe she is a better person than I am, but if I were as absolutely mad as she appeared to be at those two h*ll would freeze over before they would get my vote no matter what they did. I have to agree with the other poster as well who asked about Rob's change of opinion on Matt. Something must have happened there that we didn't see.

I haven't been this disapointed since the season with Colby and Tina, but at least Tina appeared to be a sweetheart and you could see why she got the votes..

Oh well, what can you do. It isn't like American Idol where WE get to vote. It was up to those 7 people and they made their decision.

I think some of the Survivors caught on to the fact that Matt fell off his log/perch on purpose. Dave's face showed that he thought it was fishy.
I would never have voted for Matt, if I were one of the Survivor's, either. He rode Rob's coat tails. He was Rob's puppet, until the very end. I also think they all viewed him as less than intelligent. Who wants to be beaten by someone you consider an idiot? What does that say about your intelligence? I think Jenna and Matt were like Yzma and Krunk. I'd much rather be outwitted and outplayed by Yzma than Krunk. Krunk is more likeable, but he's all brawn and no brain.

On past Survivor episodes, Survivors have been voted off because "they didn't need the money". I remember this happening on at least two occasions, but I do not remember names. I believe those voted off were doctors.
Remember how uncomfortable Brian got when they showed his video from home? They showed his expensive cars, nice home, and baby grand piano. He was ready to crawl under a rock. He didn't want the other Survivors to know that he had money.
Didn't Roger ask that if he and Elizabeth were both destined to go, that he go first. He wanted Elizabeth to have a better chance at possibly winning the money, because she also had a sick mother. I'm sure that I may have mixed up names and details, but the general premise of "needing the money" is the same.
If Jenna had watched previous shows, she certainly would have picked up on that.

edited because I just couldn't stand it, and had to change my "road" to "rode"

I really liked this Survivor series! I didn't care for the outcome either, but I think if it was rigged they would have made the vote a lot closer than what it was. The next one looks interesting too. What I would like to see is a Survivor with just people over 40 or 50 years old and see what a difference that would make! Thanks for all your comments from everybody this season. I didn't post all year, but I've read all the comments and have enjoyed them!:sunny: One suggetion for the next series though: Could you put the Survivor games with the points on a different thread so it wouldn't interfere with just the comments from the show? Thanks again everyone!
Scott

There are two Survivor series I'd like to see .... one where they bring back the first 2-4 people voted off of each prior show (kinda give 'em a fighting chance) ... and the other would be to bring back all the $1,000,000 winners and have them all duke it out for 39 days :)

Well, I sure wouldn't say that Jenna and Heidi showed any real intelligence, regardless of what their IQ on paper says. Usually people with high IQ's very often lack plain old common sense, and Heidi showed that by some of the lame remarks she makes. I think that Matt isn't given enough credit. How many survivors that get to the finals don't ride on someones coattails? Seems that might be an intelligent think to do;)

I found the ending quite interesting. I can't really say that I am disappointed that Jenna won, or I will never watch Survivor again. It's not up to us to decide, it's the Jury's decision, and I'm sure they have their reasons. Jenna is only 21, that was easy to forget. I think she did play a good game. Come on she didn't do much, she manipulated and SHE WON. Isn't that what is about?

As for the cute being a handicap thing. She didn't use the right words, but I DO understand where she is coming from. When you work in an office fully of catty women, you understand these things. I am the youngest and I have had to work harder and prove myself more because of some preconceived notions based on my age and looks.

I couldn't believe about the high IQ thing with Heidi. I loved how Jeff had to point that out though. I never heard him mention the IQ info before.

I think Deanna and Christy got together and decided who they were voting for and based it on the woman/first tribe mate thing. I didn't like the comments from the "older" women. You could still feel their dislike and it made me understand where some of the cute girl comments came from.

mickey4ver, I haven't had nearly enough coffee to be posting this morning. I'm not referring to IQ. Rob, and I believe Alex, said straight out that they thought Matt was an idiot. I'm not talking about IQ. I'm talking about how they were viewed by the other Survivors. :)

btw, someone mentioned Jenna sharing the $1 mil with Matt ... she can't ... it's written into the contract that they sign, they cannot give any of the money to any of their fellow survivors (to prevent them from cutting deals during the game) ... so she can't give a penny to Matt, Heidi or anyone else.

What about the deal Tina had to buy Colby a motorcycle if she won? Or was that not a "deal" and something she just said she'd do, I don't remember. But she actually got him one didn't she?

Jenna wouldn't share the money, even if it was allowed. Heck, I wouldn't. If I won I wouldn't start saying "well you did good so you can have some", etc.

I too am disappointed that Jenna won. She and Heidi really believe that they worked harder than anyone else, and I think that is really sad.

I thought Alex came off like a real jerk in the reunion show. The way he kept rolling his eyes, and then arguing with Matt about Matt really being crazy was kind of rude.

The person I am most upset with is Christy. Even when she was on the morning show the day after she was voted off, she still called Heidi and Jenna the eveil stepsisters. I would never have believed that she would vote for Jenna.

I don't think there was anything wrong with what Jeanne said about the younger girls. If there was any dislike toward the younger ones, I'm sure it was well deserved. Look how many comments made the editing, who knows how many more nasty comments we never saw...

I haven't read this entire post yet so maybe what I'm posting has already been said, but thought I would add my 2 cents here. I was also dissapointed with the outcome. I watched it with my 2 children, DD 19 and DS 14 and they both felt like I did. My daughter made 2 interesting comments. She is in college for teaching and she couldn't believe Heidi would strip naked like that. What a role model! I wonder what other teachers, parents, etc would say. I would not like it at all (and by the way my husband is a teacher too). Like it or not teachers do have to set a standard for their students. I mean it's hard to take someone seriously when they take their clothes off for peanut butter and chocolate. I know they were starving, but they could have just jumped off the logs. Food was being offered for jumping off anyway. The other comment from my daughter is that she thinks the whole thing is rigged. We went back over all the survivors and find it weird that now three men and three women have won, and have alternated, man, woman, man, woman, man, woman. It's funny, but my daughter said from day one when it was an all-woman tribe, all-men tribe that a woman would win. Could be just how it went, but interesting nontheless.

The thrill of EDITING. Heidi I think (or was it Jenna?) last night mentioned how even before they were on location they were getting comments and looks from the other women. Now that WE WOULD NOT know about, would we? And the other women didn't chime up to say that wasn't the case, did they?

Personally, and this is just my opinion, the younger gals brought on the attitude of the older woman by how they acted and treated the other woman right from the start. Regardless of age, sexiness/or non thereof;) shape or whatever, at that point in the game, their was no reason to alienate the older woman and make them feel less. I too feel that some of the comments last night towards the younger gals was deserved. Perhaps being younger and prettier, you might have to "prove" yourself, but they simply weren't trying to "prove" anything in my book, just lording the fact that they thought themselves all that and a bag of chips because they were younger and a little bit better looking, and thought that was going to carry them through.

Alex's obvious hatred for Matt makes me wonder if he "swayed" the jury. If he was constantly telling stories about Matt, even embellishing them, he may have been the reason the vote was so lopsided. I mean, I know they talk. Diana
