Survivor 34: Game Changers

Before last night, I was wondering if there were no idols this season. The clue in the bottle seemed to be kind of in the open.

Before last night, I was wondering if there were no idols this season. The clue in the bottle seemed to be kind of in the open.
And from what I could see during the challenge only the green table had an idol. What about the other two tribes? Where there bottles never found, or are they passing them out one tribe at a time?

Why they insist on voting off strong challenge contributors before the merge boggles the mind.

The mindset seems to be 'vote out the strongest players so floaters like me can win'. It's dumb and it's old.

I wonder what their thinking was on voting out Caleb. Sure, Tai and Debbie played with him on a past season and had a tentative alliance but wouldn't Hayley be a bigger threat? She had what, at least four, others on the Mana? tribe that will ally with her on another tribe. Maybe Caleb didn't tell them that he was on the outs with his other tribe.

They only put the idol at the challenge for the person who found the clue. Nobody in the other tribes found the clue, therefore the idol wasn't placed.

Remembered why I never likes Sandra last night. I can't understand how she won twice; brings nothing to the tribe other than bossiness.

I think with as much as the producers manipulate the outcome with all the tribe switches & odd-timed merges, you have to strike when you can.

I miss the old days when they kept the original tribes until merge & merged at 10 period and when a good fisherman was invaluable. It really created a conundrum trying to balance keeping the tribe strong vs worrying about post merge vs eating vs starving.

As for not eating the goat, it's clear they have TONS of food. Season 1 or 2, they'd have eaten the goat. They'd have eaten them ALL.

I miss the old Survivor. Like you said, back in the day they would not have hesitated for a second before eating a goat. They used to be skeletal and wearing dirty, ratty clothes by the end. Now they all have multiple outfits...way too cushy.

They certainly don't get the same amount of rice as they use to get but they do have opportunities to get food more often and if they are smart they can make what they do get last longer.

There was no reason to eat the goats at all at this point in the game.

As I posted in last season's thread, the game seems to have evolved over the years into more "social surviving" to the end than "physical surviving", although the social game was certainly there from the first season.

Anyone watching Stranded with a Million Dollars on MTV? It's an interesting twist on Survivor. I watch Naked and Afraid to see real surviving.

We've watched Survivor from the beginning and it is definitely a VERY different game.

I've heard about naked and afraid before but had never watched. I watched an episode last night (out of boredom) and now I am HOOKED. Like you said, that's real surviving. Makes Survivor seem like a soap opera now.

Ive seen several episodes of naked and afraid. It's like driving by a car wreck.... you can't take your eyes away and sit there watching with your jaw dropped. I do hate the naked part.... gross.

I watched the first episode of Kicking and Screaming. Jury's still out.

I re-watched the first season of Survivor not long ago. It has changed a lot. They shot the shot the first one almost like a documentary.
