Surprise from Tink

I have read of people putting together surprises from Tink, or other characters, to leave in the room for the children. I was wondering if anyone wrote up a note from these characters, and how they did it? I would love to do it, but know my daughter would recognize my handwriting.

During a recent business trip to Orlando I bought postcards and asked a coworker to write the messages. My DD6 was completely tricked since it was not even close to my writting! Now at 6 I'm not sure she would know but I wanted to be safe.

I plan to do atleast one special gift she wakes up to, I bought her a new cinderella dress for breakfast at CRT. I will ask someone to write the note prior to us leaving.

Can you get someone else to write out all the notes ahead of time? Or can you slip away and ask the CM at the front desk?

DW found this, so I'm not sure of the exact URL, but if you use Google, we managed to download a font based on the Disney signature/logo. You can use that.

Alas, DD6 knows we have it and has used it, so it's not an option here.

We planned our vacation for about 1 year, so to keep DD excited about it, about once per month I sent her a letter from a different Disney character toalking about how excited they were that she was coming to visit them. I just bought some cute paper from Michaels and added some Disney stickers from the appropriate character. I typed them up on the computer using whatever font I thought was cute. I also senther a Christmas card from Mickey and the gang (signed by my co-workers) and a birhtday card from the Princesses (also signed by my co-workers). I carried all of this over to little gifts when we got there. I used princess goody bags and put in little things along with a letter from a different princess each day with a reference to what would be going on that day. Again, I just got some cute paper and stickers and typed them. DD loved it, and never questioned anything.

We went on a girls' week, and one of the ladies put a tiny glass slipper (from the glass blowing store at downtown disney) with my daughter's (7) birthstone in it and a note from Ariel, Cinderella, Belle and Jasmine on her pillow. She was amazed and asked..to my horror..Jasmine about it the next day at Epcot. How did she know what room we were in?? Jasmine winked and told her the princesses knew she was coming and checked for her room. You have to love Disney.

Our daughter recieved letters from Mickey telling her how he was looking forward to her visit and to be sure she checked out his pumpkins when she was at Magic kingdom. I typed a letter with disney font on a cute paper I found at a scrapbook store that had Mickey's cottage on it.(in our room on her pillow when we arrived.)

For her Mary Poppins Breakfast, a cute parasol with a note from Mary Poppins herself inviting her to Breakfast the next morning.(when we arrived back from the park one evening.)

A royal scroll tied with a silk ribbon on monogram paper and the royal seal placed on her bed with a cinderella gown requesting her presence to dine with the princess in the castle.(sealed with wax just like a real invitation)

A teeny tiny very delicate note from tinkerbell in a teeny tiny envelope giving our daughter a small supply of pixy dust to share the magic (a blank card and envelope from the florist.)

Plus we took a supply of dog biscuits for pluto, toy cheese for Mickey, silk roses for the princesses, a huge supply of printed thank you cards with suckers on them for anyone who made our day special(we gave out alot of these)

We left our imagination run wild :teeth:

I have a gift bag for my daughter for each day we are going to be there. I printed business cards to go on each one that says they are to her and from a different character. I have been gathering mostly disney toys from local stores (we don't have a disney store, but lots of stores here have disney stuff). I want to have them out when we come in for our afternoon naps/pool time. I thought this would help make it special for her, but also read the suggetion to bring stuff to decrease the "i wants" at the gift stores.

My question is would the mousekeepers put them out for me each day if I left a note with their tip? I'm just not sure of how to actually get them to her. I thought about doing them while she was asleep and being there when she woke up, but she might have a fit about them being in her room while she was asleep (she's odd sometimes about things like that). Any ideas?

I am working on putting these kind of things together also. Anyone got any good tips for little boys? I don't think a cinderella dress is going to do much for them.

I was thinking about mouse ears for first day at mk

I have something piratey in mind for a day that they take a pirate cruise (not sure what since they have so much pirate stuff its not funny)

Not sure what else to give though.

I too am hoping to reduce the I wants although my kids aren't too bad about this usually.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I little trick I did, I always "forgot" something in the room intentionally. I would leave DD with DH and run back to the room and place the items out at that time.

As for the lil boy items, plain jane hot wheel cars decorated with Disney stickers(cars Movie), Pirate set(eye patch, hat, etc) and maybe a personal note from Peter Pan asking him to help him find his shadow.

How old is your son?

I love all of these idesa, I wish I thought of them when my DD was younger, she is now 12, but I do have a DS that I am going to try this with he is 4 and he loves everything Disney even the Princesses.

I have 2 boys ages 8/5.

I'm thinking that I'm going to end up ebaying for some of the cars that he didn't get collected from Mcdonalds and giving them those.

Also have bought poc sticker books, Cars crayons, erasers.

McDonalds is starting POC toys shortly thought I would just collect them and not let the boys get them and give them those at dw.

For boys:
I found some cute plastic Disney character cups with straws and lids at Disney Store. We bought Mickey Mouse, but they have a number of different characters---the cups have a sort of "water globe" in the bottom with the character floating in it. Also, I got them matching shirts with the Disney characters on them, buzz lightyear battery operated fans that light up (for waiting for the Spectromagic Parade at night), Toy Story mini cars (on sale at Disney Store). I don't know if your boys are into stuffed animals, but I noticed pirate themed Mickey and Pluto at Disney Store last week. I am tempted to buy Pluto---he has the keys in his mouth like the dog on the ride---Pirates of the Caribbean is one of their favs...I may have to go back and get that. I think Disney also has a set of Mickey Mouse ears with the Pirate bandana and an earring.

2poohbears

Thanks for the info. My boys are way into stuffed animals. Are the mouse ears available somewhere before I get to dw? I'll have to go to disney store sometime before we go. The nearest disney store is several hours away but I'll have to check online also. Love the pirate themed stuffed animals. They sound perfect. 5 y/o just got stuffed pirate that sits on his shoulder so he really looks like a pirate with his hat, sword, patch, earing etc etc etc.

Tinkerbell leaves surprises for my DD, now 6 1/2, as well. I don't really do much that's special besides that. In every room there's a little peg-hook and shelf thingy, usually between the TV and closet? The surprise is left there every evening after DD goes to sleep. I buy Disney stuff anywhere I can when we're at home, as long as she's not with me. Little stuffed characters from the Disney Store when they're on sale, or pens/pencils, lip gloss, notebooks, whatever I can find with a Disney theme. Then it travels in DH's suitcase. Last trip she got a pretty decent attitude problem and Tinkerbell didn't come that night. DD was peachy keen the next few days, let me tell you!!

The last night she always gets a mini snow globe, which one of us picks up in one of the stores at WDW, usually on Main Street. It's a lot of fun for all of us. I just wish Tink would leave something for me! :confused3

OP - I did the same thing as a few others here have done. I downloaded the Disney font, which was not an easy feat for me to accomplish! But I did it! And I made a letter for my son and my friends son, from Mickey Mouse himself alnog with some toys I got at the Disney Store. It was a HUGE hit and I will do it again in the future. Good luck and have fun! :cloud9:

I went to the Disney Store and was able to get lots of fun little things to put in a cute little Tink :tinker: bag that I found there on clearance! Now I just have to find the font to make up a little note. I am so excited! :cool1:

Wow, you guys are giving me so many ideas! Our trip is so far away, but I love how we can start the magic now.

Those pirate ears are to die-for! I love them! My little guy will be 5 when we get there, he loves anything to do with Pirates. This will really help make the magic.

Do you think if I order them and send them on to the Polynesian, will they put them in the room for us before we arrive?

Thanks...and I hope this thread stays active so I can sponge more ideas off you!

i have set something up with the WL CL
they are buying some items and leaving them in the room for ds7 and a donald toy for my ds2
