Super Goofs Team 4 Miles Challenge

Kristi:  and :wizard: that the car thing is over. What an ordeal!

Angie:  You are a trooper. Don't count out your half yet. Please, please, please come do Great Bay with us. I will personally stay with you the WHOLE way. Your blisters will be healed by April for sure. I can't believe you started in that mess and there would need to be A LOT of beer at the end for me to have persevered through that!!

Sorry I went MIA. We are in the midst of a "wintery mix" that is turning out to be about 10 inches of snow packed down with lots of rain. Kids home from school. Fortunately, it is my day off and I had "help" cleaning the house. I am sure you all know what I mean!! I did hills last night 2 miles in 22:25 which for me is good. I tried really hard to push up the hills but I am still fighing this upper respiratory garbage. I did them all though and then upper body strength. Still can't believe Trent is gone. He was such an honest person!!

I am putting a shout out to KiMickey and lllovell as I have not heard from KiMickey since 2/1 and lllovell since 2/7. If you are or are not playing any longer please let me know as if you are not, I need to get some replacements for us. I hope that you are just on vacation or taking a break. I hate to lose anyone this early in the game.

Okay, deep breaths, positive thoughts, better week!!!!!!

Count me in for another 1.5 hours of XT last night....had another hockey game, at least we won this time!! :cool1: :cool1:

I was planning on running today, but the weather here is BAD....rain, rain, and more rain.....lots of flooding, and hard to get around so I will run tomorrow.

Keep up the good work!!

Angie- count me in for hoping you do Great bay with us. I would be honored to run with you and Princessrunner (wishing I thought of it before).

This week stinks- rose for 1.5 hours yesterday. Wintery mix of snow and ice today- no school for the wee ones and intermittent power outages. Why do I like NH- quick I need reminders. Running group was canceled for tonight too.

I'll make it up somehow!

Stay warm!
Joanne

Good morning team!!

I have everyone up to date to here. We are socked in with ice. Two hour delay for school this morning. Ice, ice and more ice. My driveway is a skating rink...with a hill. :scared1:

I have a meeting this afternoon which cramps in on my gym time so I will probably end up doing yoga tonight. Not many miles this week but we will try and make up for it next week. I think we should just chalk this week up to bad karma and move on from here.

This is my quote for inspiration. I think it applies most to our  Angie right now:

"Most people run a race to see who is the fastest. I run a race to see who has the most guts." -Steve Prefontaine

Angie, you certainly have the guts!!!!!

I managed to squeeze out strength training while watching the Biggest Loser last night.

45 min. - situps, pushups, squats

This Chad typing, didn't realize Kristi was signed in

Ok Kristi you did good now reward yourself with some good high protien power food. I suggest chilli cheese fries with a big chocolate shake. At least order a Meat Lovers Stuffed Crust for a bed time snack.

Helpful Panda:hippie:

Oh helpful panda....:crazy2: When I finished my last bodybuilding competition oh so long ago, I wanted a big old pizza and a mug of beer. We stopped at Pizza Hut on the way home and I got just that. Not a mile later, my body did the "what the heck" thing and I got to retaste everything. Such a vivid image for me, I have not eaten pizza since.

Okay team, yay for me, I just got a reprieve to log off at 9:30 and work later tonight to make up time from taking in my son and the meeting so I get to go to the gym and run!!!!!! :dance3:

Happy Valentine's Day all! I did 40 minutes of XT yesterday (not in the pool--I lost my goggles after just 2 uses, grrrr) and today I did 2 miles in 20 minutes, 35 minutes of strength training. Also, finally walked outdoors yesterday and today--it was nice to have a wee bit of sunshine. It always makes winter that much more bearable.

Maura

Kristi, hope things have settled down for you, and that only good things are happening now...at least it's not snowing (right now!)

Lisa, are you all over your cold now? I hope you're feeling better! I will keep thinking about the Great Bay, but I wouldn't want to hold anyone back, THANKS so much for offering to stay with me though!!!!

Hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!!!

2/12
2.47 miles/46 minutes

2/13
2 hours of shoveling heavy wet snow (both cars were stuck in the driveway too)

Hello Fellow Goofs!

I am here and alive and still very much participating.

For me - the totals are not huge this week as work has basically gone from tollerably bad to me thinking of leaving soon. Sorry for being MIA, but I promise I will tell you if I am going to have to drop out so I can be replaced!

Saturday: 30 minutes Curves....2.5 miles walking - 40 minutes
MOnday: 30 minutes Curves
Tuesday: 5 miles - hour and 20....(lord I have to walk faster!)
Wed: nada
Thursday....well- might be a nada day as well.

Emotional things really drain me. I am not enough of an exerciser to feel like working out makes it better. Maybe one day I will get there!

Hope everyone has an excellent Valentine's Day. I saw some goodies my hubby and the kids made for me last night and I can't wait to get home and "open" my present from them. :cloud9: So much better than even a diamond ring!

Is anyone thinking about the Vermont City Marathon? (5/25/08)
I am thinking about is but am interested in feedback from others.

Oh by the way:

Happy Valentines Day!

Joanne: I thought about Vermont but opted for Great Bay instead. Kind of late for me to start a full training at this point. It is on my "to do" list though.

Angie: You would NEVER hold me back. I am not doing this race for a PR. I proved to myself I can run a half and I hit the goal I set for myself (under 2:45) so all is good in my world. I am doing this for the killer hills :lmao: , the joy of moving and the company of friends  . Please, please, please do it with us. I am signed up as a runner but I can catch up if need be. Gives me reason to run faster. Besides, by the time the "challenging" hill section hits, I will be ready to walk anyway. You made it 9 in January, 11 in February, you CAN do 13.1 in April. I know you can.

Kristi: Hope today was better. I was going to whine about having to travel 45 minutes to a meeting today one way but I made a quick stop at TJ Maxx and found some awesome Michael Kors jeans so no complaints here. :rolleyes1

lllovell: Glad to see you are still with us. Keep moving and just check in once in awhile so your poor nervous captain does not have a breakdown!

I decided it was the elliptical today (mostly cuz the TMs were all taken) so I did 9.5 miles in 60 minutes (YAY :woohoo: ) and I almost made up all the miles I missed this week...almost... The ice is starting to melt and I am now trying to decide if I should shovel the front deck of wait until DH gets home and claim it just came off the roof???!!! :sad2:

Today was better! I overslept and decided to just be "sick." ;)
Thank God today was the one day this week I had someone working with me!
I then slept another 8 hours - think I need it?

groovygirls - I am a half marathon girl. I hope you find someone to do VT with you though!

4 miles

How funny Kristi, I overslept today too!! Of course, my office is about 10 steps down the hallway and I took my shower while my work downloaded, so, lucky you!!! Me, I am STILL working and have 1 hour and 18 minutes to go, but whose counting???? ;)

I did it again
I keep posting under Kristi's name
This is MickeyHead (Chad)
I'll try to remember next time.

Yesterday while Kristi was in her yoga class, I ran on the "boring" treadmill and spent some time on the rowing machine and stair stepper. It was nice to row again, I haven't done it since being on the rowing team in college.

3.2 miles 34:13 running
0.1 miles 2:25 rower
10:00 stair stepper
15:00 shoveling "water"
-----------------
3.3 miles 1:02:38 ºoº

I'll try to remember to sign in on my name. That's twice now that I have posted under Kristi's name.

Good Morning Everyone -

Three weekends in a row with company is starting to wear my entire family down. Luckily, the meltdowns happened this morning so my house guests didn't have to see it.

I ran 8 miles yesterday. More hills. I realize I should probably not be complaining about hill training to people who live in NH, but I will anyway.

8 miles
1:22

Next week I go back to 4 days a week of training. Computer shopping is no longer going to interfere with my training as I have narrowed down my computer specs and battled out the costs with DH. So now its just a matter of waiting on my birthday to arrive. DH says if I get it before my birthday, I will insist on a "surprise" present for my birthday. - the down side to 20 years together - he knows my tricks.

Cecilia

Good morning Goofy Group! It looks like everyone is doing well!

Thursday: Time: 2 hours (1 hour TM, 1 hour strength)
Miles: 5

Thanks!

Beth

2/14
1 mile/18 minutes (at least it's something...)
30 minutes of shoveling, or trying to, it was a frozen mess!

Great news (well, for me...) 2 of my blisters "came off" last night (no more bubble/skin, just pretty pink new stuff)!

Hope everyone had loving Valentine's Days!

Kristi, you really need to sleep more regularly..have you looked into a school position yet?
