Super Goofs Team 4 Miles Challenge

Up to date to here. I managed 3 miles today.

Cecilia: I have your full blown cold, day 7, no signs of letting up. Stay healthy!!

Angie: Good luck tomorrow in Hampton. Hope you don't get snowed out. How are the blisters?

Susie: So glad to hear from you. I was really worried when you went MIA last week. My DSis lives in OKC and I hate when they have severe weather and I don't hear from here.

Anyone who feels they had a light week or that they did not pull their weight, take a look at the team total. We are right up there in the running. Never feel that you do not contribute to the team effort. We are all in this together!!!!

Lisa - please add 15 mins. for me today (every little bit counts, right?).

I got to class and this teacher said she adds 15 more mins. to her class and did anyone mind.
I suppose once you and there and doing your thing, what is 15 more mins.? ;)

Hi all!

Steve and I signed up for a Valentine 5k today. I think I'm more sore from it than I was the marathon a few weeks ago.

Me: 3.1 miles + strength training / 1 hour
Steve (nukeman): 3.1 miles + strength training / 1 hour

Kristi - good for you for doing the yoga. I really need to do that. Unfortunately, my gym doesn't offer this. I may have to buy a dvd or something.

Stacey - HAVE FUN at WDW. I'm jealous! ;) Please ride ToT for me.

Lisa - thanks for the concern. :goodvibes All is well here, thank God! Just been busy cleaning up the debris and life in general. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

Beth - I would LOVE to be able to do 12-minute miles. I'm working on it...huffing and puffing all the way.

Laurie - hope you have a better week! :wizard:

Laura - at least you put up a tree. ;) I'm getting sooooo lazy. I've gone from elaborate trees over the years to just a few decorations here and there this year. By the way, it took me a while to get under the 15 min/mile. You can do it!!!

Cecilia - keep up the good work! I sure wish we had a TnT around here. I can't believe that there is not a chapter in our state. :sad2: I know I could do it on-line but it just wouldn't be the same.

Christy - how did you like the powerpump class? Did it just totally wear you out? A friend of mine does this at her gym and she's always complaining about being sore.

Angie - I know this is late but in addition to the bandaids for blisters as Cecilia (?) mentioned, I also put moleskin over the bandaid. Works for me. Then again, "blister" is my middle name as I always get blisters if I run more than five miles. :headache:

groovygirls - sounds like there's going to be a nice WISH gathering in Green Bay. Hope you all have some serious fun! :woohoo:

Have a great weekend!

Susie- it's good that you weren't any closer to the tornado! WOW, crazy weather! Sorry, but I can't do TOT, it's too scary!

Kristi- I will do RNR for you. Now that I've learned how to do it without dreading it, I can't wait!

Talk to you all when I get back!

Yay for everyone getting out there and getting it done. I am getting buried again in snow, another 4-8" today. More Wednesday. I think I will NEVER get outside to run again. Did I mention how much I dislike TM running????

We have a new member to welcome, JMASGAT or Maura. Welcome aboard the Super Goofs team. We are pretty friendly here, so come on out and introduce yourself.

Also, KiMickey, I have not heard from you in forever. Are you still out there or did we lose you???? Hopefully it is not weather related as we just found Susie again!!

There is a lot of yuck and negativity going on amongst a few different threads and PandaDave is a little disappointed and discouraged so if you get a chance to give him a shout out and tell him what an awesome job he has done with this game and if you feel it has encouraged you please also let him know that. I don't care about winning or prizes, I think that the real winning is that we have helped each other and the prize is the results that we all achieve in the end. Your health is your greatest gift!!

Hi Everyone -

I ended up running 5.08 yesterday. Strange number, I know but the Garmin does keep you honest. Total time was 48:19. WAY too fast for a person that is trying to get sick but hey, it wasn't hills so it felt pretty good.

Then I went for a nature hike with the kids and dog so I get to add another 2.67 for that however that "walk" took right at an hour. We had fun though.

My totals for today:

7.75 miles
1 hour 48 minutes

Just a warning though, my dh is worried that I am suffering from over training. He thinks I jumped back up in miles too fast after Goofy. I am going to keep at this lower mileage for at least another week to see if I can recover.

Susie -Way to go on the 5k! Did you know that race miles/minutes count double?! So you just ran a 10k.... Perhaps thats why you are so sore. ;)

Stacey - Just soak up a little of that happy atmosphere for me. Of course, if you really want to do me a favor, ride RNR twice. I bought a ticket to Holly Studios just to ride that rollercoaster. After the half, I went to HS, rode RNR then ate at the Brown Derby, then went back to the hotel for a nap before dinner (at Wolfgang Puck's cafe.)

Have a good week everyone!

Cecilia

Hi people,

I'm Maura and I'm a late add to the team. I'm currently training to run the Minnie 15k--two things that I never personally thought I would say in the same sentence--"run" and "15k". Oh well, at least I have company! I'm following a modified HIgdon plan, so 6 days a week of training, yikes! I just finished week 5, so to get caught up, here's everything I've done since Feb. 1

1st--rest
2nd-- 3 miles in 28 minutes
3rd- rest (last Sunday rest allowed!)
4th- 60 min of stretch/strengthen
5th-- 3miles in 33 min
6th-- 40 min swim
7th-- 3 miles in 33 min
8th--rest
9th-- 4 miles (woohoo!) in 44min
10th--60 min Pilates

Now I just need to go catch up on the rest of the thread, and people, and figure out how to get the logo in my sig.

Maura

Everyone accounted for? Welcome to the newbies.....great team to be with!

Time: 60 min
Miles: 5

Holding my own, I guess!

Beth

Susie -Way to go on the 5k! Did you know that race miles/minutes count double?! So you just ran a 10k.... Perhaps thats why you are so sore. ;)
Cecilia

Cecilia - thanks, I didn't know this. Yes, that's why I'm tired - I just ran a 10k. Also, take care of yourself!! Pretty good time for someone trying to get sick!

Lisa - I need to make a correction then....instead of running 3.1 miles, I guess we get to double it to 6.2 miles each. Do we get to double the hours too? :teeth:

Maura - :welcome: Looks like you are already burning the exercise trail. :woohoo:

Angie - I am dying to hear how your race was today!!! :cheer2:

Susie
- congrats! I LOVE the trophy. But I do think I love the swedish massage you got even better!:cheer2:

:welcome: Maura!

I did scrapbook race pictures today.
Does getting last year's Great Bay & the 2007 WDW Half done count as xt? ;) ;) ;)

HI everyone! Sorry I haven't been able to catch up with everyone on this thread....life has been a little crazy here the last week. I promise to get caught up with everyone this week!

Count me down for 1.5 hours of XT for tonight...my ice hockey team had a game. We lost, but it was a good game!

Have a great week and keep up the good work!!

So, Angie, did they have the Hampton or not?? I tried to look several times but it just said they were having it snow, rain or shine. I seriously do not think I could have even walked it if your weather was anything like mine yesterday. I have major shoveling to do as the roof let loose on the decks at about 8 p.m. last night. Yuck!!. The roads here are trecherous this morning, very packed and icy...so hi ho hi ho back to the TM I go. I have a sinus infection too so my head is really pounding.

Enough complaining, Laurie, sorry you lost but the game time counts toward our total so...YAY. Glad to see everyone is still out there working hard and persevering (unlike myself). Sometimes I wish I still lived in GA so I could run outside every day. Another welcome to Maura and thanks for all the miles/hours updates. Looks like you keep track like I do. I will add these later to the spreadsheet as my work computer needs a major browser update!!

Have a great day everyone, get out and enjoy if you can. I WISH I could send pixie dust for everyone to run/walk like the wind today (of course it is blowing between 30 to 40 mph here today LOL).

1.5 hours of riding for me. Unfortunately it is 10 degrees outside and windy so I will be on the dreadmill this afternoon. Plan is for 4 miles but I get easily distracted so who knows!
Everyone is doing such a great job!

Well when I went to the gym this am (5:30 as usual) the car thermometer said -3F. Can I go to Disney NOW? Anyway, I did 50 min of stretch/strengthen.

Maura

Maura--Welcome!!

I aplogize that both Steve and I have been MIA!

On Friday, Brennen got really sick and had a high fever through Sunday morning. Then we had Brennen's Family Birthday Party Sunday afternoon and his friend party this morning. I am BEAT!!!

I am hoping to get a short run in tonight and I will be going to Power Pump on Wednesday for sure.

Susie--I LOVE PowerPump, but I am always sore for the next couple of days (and I use super light weights, I am hoping to move up soon!!)

Sorry I have been MIA as well.

I certainly had major LTO today.
I was VERY late for work. On the way to work, hit random object in the road.
Had a new director this morning who really drove home my need to get the heck out of that place. And a.s.a.p.!
Got back out to the garage after work and my tire was flat.
Had to drive 40 miles home on donut, going only 50mph on the highway the whole way.
I got home about 2 hours late and was so frustrated by my day from you-know-where that I did skip the gym. :sad2:

We also have the added craziness of shipping Zack off to my parents' house for two nights in a row since Chad & my shifts overlap these 2 days from 3:30-4:45am. (yet another reason I need a 'normal' job!)

So just craziness around here.
I do promise to get to the track tomorrow if it kills me!

Anyone have any ideas about what I should do when I grow up? ;)

Any word from Angie? I am dying to hear how her Hampton Half was on Sunday!

:wizard: for Brennen. I am on day 9 of this yuck that invaded my home. I hope he is better soon. Never good to be sick at your party!!

Kristi:  It is a good thing those days are few and far between. Think of the calories you burned in frustration and anger!! I hope things go MUCH better today. Just gives me more reasons why I work at home :surfweb:

If it helps any, I think when I grow up I am going to be a personal trainer and yoga instructor. Of course, that is after my kids are done with schooling and I am near retirement from this job cuz I may not like it, but it pays well and gives me time with the kids and time to fit in my runs.

I got 2 miles in 21 minutes last night. I was on for 3 but I knew I had major shoveling to do...again...so I shoveled for a half hour and there is more joy to come as the roof has not let loose yet. Due for more snow tonight into tomorrow...YAY...:headache:
