I just booked a week in April at the Summerfield Suites in LBV. Does anyone have any feedback on this hotel. Is there a certain section I should request. I got a rate of $167/night. Does that sound OK? Any suggestions or hints you can give me would be great regarding this hotel. There will be 5 of us and we got a 2 bedroom. Will we be cramped. There will be 3 adults and 2 kids.

Thanks in advance. This is such a great place to come for information.

Just a quick note to say we are 3 adults and 2 kids staying at Holiday Inn Maingate East in a suite for $79 in February. The floor plan of the suite looks quite spacious actually. Adults get a free breakfast buffet and kids eat free all the time. Seems like a great deal so I thought I'd pass it on.

We stayed at Summerfield Stes. a few years ago and thought it was really nice for a suite hotel. The rate you are paying though you can probably get a timeshare resort for the same or less and will have more room. Yes the 2 bedroom has a kitchenette but the living room area is very crammed in. I also believe I have seen better rates for Summerfield Stes but it depends on when you are going.

If they still offer the free breakfast it was really nice. You could add a couple dollars for a cook to order omelette or belgian waffle. The pool area and common areas were very clean and the location is really good for Disney and Downtown Disney.

When are you going out of curiosity?

April 2-9. Thanks for the advise. Do you know the names of any timeshare/condos that we should look into?

Thanks for your advise.

Being that you are checking in on a Wed. it kinda limits renting a timeshare from someone or a getaway from the exchange company as they are usually Fri, Sat or Sun checkins.

I checked rates and was really surprised that they are quite high for when you are going for most places. Maybe the rate you got isnt so bad.

Some nice timeshares in the area you could check are Vistana, Vistana Villages, Hilton Grand Vac. Club, Cypress Pointe, Embassy Vac. Resort at Lake Bryan, Orange Lake (huge though)..there may be other suggestions from other posters.

I'm not sure what kind of rates you will get though :-)

On Expedia I found:

Marriott Royal Palms: $154
Parkway International: $159
Embassy Vac. Resort: $149
Cypress Pointe: $141

These are all timeshares. The one nice thing about the Marriott one is you get to use all the cool pools at the Marriott Orlando World Center which is right by there.

Is there something special going on down there this week because the rates are high and some places dont even have availability..unless its just Spring break time.

Go to www.wyndham.com and check out their web rates. Click on specials and follow from there. You do have to book not more 21 days before you leave. But check out the prices, it may be worth the wait. But you are going Easter week. So maybe you will want to book it through their website and then cancel it, when you get within the 21 days if there is still availability. The only catch is you have to pay in full and it is non refundable.

I Just booked the Summerfield Suites on International Drive with the webrates and am paying $76 a night for a 2 bedroom suite.

Thats not Easter week. Easter is April 20 and she said she is going April 2-9

Hi there.
If you don't mind, can you tell me how you got that rate at Summerfield Suites. Was it a special discount code?
Thanks.

Laura

I got that rate at www.wyndham.com and went to specials then clicked on webrates. You won't get those rates till you are within 21 days of your stay.

Go to the site and put in other dates that are within 21 days and you will see the web rates.

That's why I am saying if you like the hotel, hold it with a credit card, then check back when you are within 21 days, and cancel your existing ressie. The only thing is webrates are non refundable and have to be paid in full.

crelange,

We stayed at the SS - LBV this past September. We thought it was great. We had a 2 bedroom suite and yes, the living area was a little cramped (we had 3 adults, 3 small children), but it worked out great. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. The free breakfast was great - serving the basics - juice, coffee, muffins, bagels, etc.. And the location was great minutes from DTD and parks.

Pool was clean and nice to look at also.
We have it booked again for Sept 2003 and our rate is $129.00 a night (we received that rate using the Entertainment card). We were also looking at Homewood Suites for $90.00 a night for a 2 bedroom but I hadn't really heard any "good" reviews.

I'm still looking to see if I can find something better, like a timeshare or vacation property but most of them do not offer a free breakfast or housekeeping...and the way I look at it (with a 4 year old and 2 year old twins)...I'm on vacation, who wants to deal with cooking, etc..if you don't have to.I hope this helps.

hi
We were there before Christmas in a 2 bedroom Trio. We did our ressies with Hotelkingdom.com and got a rate of $90US/ night.
Didn't use pool cuz it was too cold though some kids were in it. Mom and daughter used the breakfast buffet and thought it was good. Lots of outdoor seating for meals rather than in suite. Bedrooms were roomy and it was nice to have two batherooms with tub/showers. Location was great. Right off the freeway to Disney. Around the corner from the Downtown Disney hotels. Lots of resturants, a winn dixie , drug store, and resturants in walking distance. Good friendly service and housekeeping.
had a corner ground floor room cuz daughter is in wheelchair and they only have stairs. Used a rental car so I can't tell you about the shuttles.
Only problem was the kids racing arouns up above us til all hours in the morning. We're liight sleepers due to child with seizures so we didn't get a lot of sleep.
I would stay here again but our next trip there is a 4day/ 3day land/ sea cruise so we'll be at the POLY again.

I'm presuming the breakfast buffet was not included in the price was it? Was the pool heated? At $90 it sounds like a very good deal.

I enjoyed reading all your replies. I am going to keep my ressie. I will however check the web special rates on the summerfield website 21 days before. I bet I will be out of luck. They will probably be booked since it is a busy time of the year.

Thanks again!

Chris

Breakfast buffet IS included..although you can pay extra for a made to order Belgian waffle or omelette to add to it.

Breakfast was included. I believe the pool is heated but again ... we didn't go in so I couldn't tell you but there were people swimming as well as people in the hot tub too.

I stayed there in Nov. The pool didn't feel heated at all to me! Other then that everything was great!! Continental breakfast is included, it's $3.50 for any hot food.

Did any of you request a specific room or section of the hotel? Is it a really huge hotel where that might make a difference?

Thanks again.
Chris

We didn't request a room however with the child in a wheelchair and only having stairs, they had no choice but to put us on the main floor.
The hotel is shaped like a rectangle and the buildings all surround the pool and patio area.
There are three floors and I'd say probably 100 - 150 suites maybe..... The front building ground floor has the deli and eating area, main reception, lounge area and probably a meeting room somewhere. Laundry is another building outside in courtyard as is the changeroom/washroom for the pool area and arcade!
