There's illegal, imprudent & ridiculous. If you engage someone who is obviously creating a situation, leave it alone. Back off, is your life worth so little that you have to be "right"?First of all, just because "I" want to pass "you" it doesnt mean im going to drive recklessly and crash into a pole. If you had any experience driving, you'd know this. They just want to pass, happens all the time. As long as youre following the rules of the road and passing when its permitting, there's nothing wrong there. Sure they might be driving a bit faster than you, but so what? Not sure I would bother passing in a residential neighbourhood but whatever. Second of all, the driver who wouldnt let the car pass was being an idiot, thats a good way to start confrontation with someone. Anyone with half a brain wouldn't attempt such a dangerous maneuver. You dont know who youre dealing with out there. Again I say, those drivers should stick their noses elsewhere.
"I had the right to pass him!" "What I was doing was legal!" Heck we can put that on your tombstone if you liked. People are killed & do kill others just to be right everyday.
Exercise some patience & common sense.
If you engaged that idiot on a road like this, would you have room to swerve if a small child was on the roadside? Life is too short to always be in the right. You are correct, 2 to 3 minutes. But had I stayed behind every jackhole, I woulda wasted 10 years of my life.
You attract that many Jackholes
