Strollering Along At The World (Finally!)- A PTR (Feb '12)*TR Started 2/12*

I just remembered one more thing. I've been trying to get an earlier ADR for CM but I just couldn't get anything earlier than 10:55am and the characters leave at 11:30am so a half an hour I don't think would be enough and I hate having a sit down meal around lunch time because it breaks up the day too much so I decided to check some other character breakfasts. I considered Cape May Cafe but then I talked to a friend (thanks Betsy) and she told me at the 'Ohana breakfast they also have Mickey and Pluto. Sooo, I tried to get an earlier ADR there and was able to get a table at 7:30am!! So now our character breakfast for Thursday, Feb 9th is at 'Ohana with my favorite character STITCH!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:I'm ultra excited!! And also happy it's family style instead of buffet so I won't miss any character interaction.

I think those plans look great! The only thing I wanted to chime in about was VOTLM and Beauty & the Beast.

We tried taking Everett to VOTLM when he was 10 months and it didn't go so well. I didn't remember how long it was, and although he enjoyed the beginning, he was fussy and miserable by the end. We were stuck towards the middle so we couldn't easily escape either!

Unless you little one has a great attention span, I'd be vary of the stage shows!

Good luck with packing!

*Note: We've never watched this show. Would it be good for a one year old?Yes, I think he might not be bored. Sit farther back if you don't want a lot of mist on him

Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage
Return to the park and see Beauty and the Beast. *Note: we've never seen this show either. Is it ok for a one year old? This too is fine. i am not sure how much it will engage him, but there is nothing inappropriate or scary

Your plans looks great!!

Good idea sitting near the exit just in case at Muppet's. You never know how babies or kids are going act.

I also saw a little kid freak out at Indiana Jones. But that is pretty easy to exit no matter where you are.:goodvibes

I, too want a text please of you and Alex on Main Street. So excited for you all!!!

Yay for Ohanas. I know you are going love it there :yay:

Hmm, Alex does pretty good at church and service is about an hour long so I actually think he might do ok during the shows as far as length. I guess I was mostly asking if any of the shows might scare him or not. Thanks for the advice though. If we try it out and need to leave, is there a way out during the show?

Thank you!

Mist?? Now I'm intrigued!

Is the show boring? What do they do? And which show do you think is better so if we decide to try one I'm not trying the one that's not as good as the other.

Thanks!

Yeah....I'm not sure he will enjoy the 3d shows since he won't keep the glasses on so he won't be able to really see what's going on. :confused3 but we can try and leave if we need to.

Yeah true, very easy to leave that theater :goodvibes

Oh yes of course. I'll be sending out a mass text and you'll be included :thumbsup2

Thank you!!

Oh yes I can't WAIT!!!! I'm so glad I talked to Betsy about it because otherwise I probably wouldn't of even considered it. I'm so so so excited!!!:woohoo:

LOL I did the same thing. I think I started wearing my maternity jeans before I even hit the 2nd tri. I was so excited to even have maternity clothes! :goodvibes

Yeah I'm on there :thumbsup2 and yeah TTC for Alex was 5 long years. We've been TTC #2 since Feb of last year so almost one year now. And it's not too personal for me. I'm pretty open with our TTC journey. I have a blog where I discuss it but it's mostly about Alex now with a little bit of TTC thrown in :goodvibes Thank you very much! I'm part of BabyCenter too! Now I'm wondering if you're in my group 'cause there's quite a few pregnant women in my group and quite a few of them have given birth recently. Wouldn't that be funny if it was the same group? I have to say it was a lot harder for me to be "around" pregnancies in a group like that before having Alex. Now the initial BFP stings but the rest of it is exciting because I can relate to it, ya know? Thank you so much for the well wishes TTC #2! I really appreciate it a lot! And I'm happy to be a part of your PTR. Like I said, it's easier to be "around" pregnant women now than it was before I had Alex because I can relate. I love love love talking about pregnancy and seeing new babies and talking about the new things with new babies. :goodvibes I just can't wait to have baby #2 so we can be on the other side of TTC. #2 will complete our family and then I will NEVER have to think about TTC again. :yay:

I don't think we're in the same group, we started a little group of about 8 of us, and I know their names! It's been fun going on BBC and now I'm more active in the February Birth Club so that's been...interesting LOL. PPL there are hilarious and I mostly just read the funny posts, but don't post much there.

I think I know what you mean, though I was looking at it from the opposite since while TTC this one. I was really, really jealous of all those in the Actively Trying Board who were so upset about not being able to conceive, BUT they had multiple children already. I know it's totally not fair of me, but I was thinking about how all I want is this one and then I wouldn't complain if we couldn't have another. I'm sure that will NOT be the case in a couple years when we start trying again, and I hope you don't take offense to that bc that was just my irrational thought process while TTC. But anyway, now that I've dug a huuuuge hole for myself...

Ok y'all! I did a packing list for Alex and the miscelaneous stuff. I didn't do one for me and Chris since we're pretty easy to pack for. But I need HELP!!! Tell me what you think I left off. I'm going crazy trying to think of stuff so I don't forget anything. I don't want to get to WDW and realize we forgot something very important. I would die!! My first thought was you need a razor and shaving cream for Alex?? :goodvibes but nothing really to add I guess, maybe an extra PnP sheet? I hope you mention in your TR what you brought vs. what you needed so I can write it all down and take notes LOL.

Yeah I got a big can of Lysol so we can use it in his bedroom too. Chris hates febreeze.

yeah that's a good idea. :goodvibes

How do you know how many people are in your room? LOL I think the biggest reason Chris doesn't want anyone in our room is because he's got the gun (being a cop and all) and he has to leave it in the room since they don't allow him to carry in the parks. I guess he could put it in the safe when we're not there.

LOL I thought this was hilarious too. You poor thing getting laughed at. But I did want to say that I really hope you use the safe in the room for the gun ANY time you aren't in there, whether or not you "allow" the mousekeeping in or not, because you just never know and you would NOT want that to fall into the wrong hands!! Even security or maintenance could enter possibly, and that'd be a scary situation if it disappeared...

Do you use any kind of lotions for him? That was probably the only thing I could see that we would have on our list that you didn't have. Other random things we brought that may help were pacifier wipes (Just in case it falls on the ground and you can't get somewhere to rinse it off), Clorox/Lysol wipes, and Children's Benadryl. Hopefully you don't need it, but I don't like to travel anywhere without it since you never know what kind of new things or foods he may come in contact with! He broke out for absolutely no reason that we could figure out one time when we stayed overnight at my mom's and had to run out and buy some. What a pain! Now we usually keep it in the diaper bag so it's always handy. He also started to break out around his mouth at my MIL's house on Christmas after eating some bites of pie, and they live out in the middle of nowhere, so having it handy was great! Maybe that's the pediatric nurse coming out in me, who knows. :rotfl:

Other than that, I would say just keep close attention for the days leading up to your trip of what you use on a daily basis and make sure to pack any of those things. If you don't use it on a daily basis, chances are you won't need to pack it for Disney. However, I'm the queen of overpacking, so I should probably take my own advice!!

I'm so glad you were able to get the Vinyl for that price!!! Just gotta watch and wait for those kinds of things. :thumbsup2 Also, we got that same t-shirt for DS for our October trip! I know it's supposed to be a St. Patrick's Day shirt or whatever, but we saw Donald and thought "Disney Trip T-Shirt" so we bought a 2T. :rotfl:

Yay, your trip is SO CLOSE!!! :woohoo:

Meds is definitely a good recommendation. I mean, we pack a travelling pharmacy just for the two of us!! It's so nice you'll have a car at least to get anything you might forget/need while there w/o worrying about taxis and such.

Ok so now I'm going to go through the touring plans for our days.

First up: Saturday, February 4th - MGM (or DHS...whatever you like to call it. I'm a purist )

Voyage of the Little Mermaid
See Voyage of the Little Mermaid. *Note: We've never watched this show. Would it be good for a one year old?

Star Tours: The Adventures Continue
Ride Star Tours. *Note: We will actually probably visit this after we get our fast passes for TSM. DH won't be able to wait

Jedi Training Academy *Note: We will be skipping this since Alex is only one I think we'll do Disney Jr instead

Muppet*Vision 3D
See MuppetVision 3D. *Note: We'll attempt this with Alex but I plan on trying to sit as close to the exit as possible so we can leave if Alex gets cranky

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Ride the Tower of Terror if your children are willing and you've not already done so. *Note: Hooty hoo!! I will be riding this with Becca's DH

The American Idol Experience
See The American Idol Experience if time permits. Check the daily entertainment schedule for show times. *Note: we'll be skipping this and probably head back to the resort for bed by this point.

Disney's Hollywood Studios Entrance
Depart Disney Hollywood Studios.

Sounds like a pretty good first day at the parks to me :goodvibes Hopefully somewhat following this plan will help us get to everything we want to.

Day in DHS looks great! I don't see any shows that you couldn't take a one year old to. We hope to do VotLM and BatB as well. BatB is fantastic! No reason you couldn't take Alex. Why won't you take him on TSMM? I mean, whoever holds him in their lap will undoubtedly have an awful score LOL but still...maybe you could try getting two sets of FP's throughout the day so that you can switch off who holds him.

YAY sounds wonderful! So glad you were able to get an Ohana bfast ressie!

Touring Plan - Day 2 - February 5th - Magic Kingdom

Plan Steps
Magic Kingdom Entrance
If you are staying at a Disney Resort, use Disney transportation to arrive at the entrance to the Magic Kingdom 30 minutes prior to opening. Guests staying off-site should arrive at the Ticket and Transportation Center 40 minutes prior to opening.
Obtain park maps and a copy of the daily entertainment schedule when you pass through the turnstiles. Stroller rentals are beneath the train station, just past the entrance. *Note: We have a morning ADR (8:30am) for CP on this day so we will be entering the park at 8:00am hopefully

I agree, though I won't even ride it due to the spinning. Maybe DH will have some daddy time with Aria hehehe

Obtain a FASTPASS for Splash Mountain in Frontierland. *Note: Yes I must ride this. DH will stay with Alex since he's not a thrill ride tipe

Really? This is a must do for us!!! We love doing the paintbrush thing at 10AM. We're going to have to switch off days though since I don't really want to be sprinting through the island with her attached in a carrier & trip or something LOL. SHE might be bored but we won't be :3dglasses anddddd if you find a paintbrush you won't need FP's for Splash/BTMRR because you'll get them from the TSI attendant!

Have this person meet the rest of your group at the entrance to the Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square. *Note: Really? FP's? We have NEVER needed FP's for MPH.

LOL no I don't think you need FP's. Those are usually doled out as a "surprise" when you get peter pan or Pooh FP's but totally unnecessary!

The Hall of Presidents
Experience The Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square. *Note: Alex does good in church but this show bores me so I'm assuming it will bore him. I think DH will want to do it anyways though *sigh*

Liberty Square Riverboat
Experience the Liberty Belle Riverboat. *Note: Closed

Eat dinner. The closest counter-service restaurant is the Columbia Harbor House in Liberty Square. The nearest sit-down restaurant is the Liberty Tree Tavern in Liberty Square. *Note: we have LTT ADR's for Friday so we'll be doing another CS place for dinner.

it's a small world
Ride It's a Small World. *Note: FINALLY!!! Another childhood favorite of mine. And every time we rode it before we got pregnant DH would toss a coin in and wish for a baby to come to us. *sniff*

That's really sweet. This one might also be her first ride, not sure! i'm so happy you will finally be able to take Alex on it!

Prince Charming Regal Carrousel
Enjoy Prince Charming's Regal Carrousel in Fantasyland.

Mickey's PhilharMagic
See Mickey's PhilharMagic.

This is the last attraction in today's touring. Use extra time to re-visit favorite attractions or explore the rest of the park. *Note: I think we'll have more extra time at the end of the day then this touring plan is thinking so we might ride PoTC or ride one of the others over again

AWesome day planned!! I had to break it up since I had so many comments on MK lol.

Mk day looks great

What plan are you following? Touring Plans? Just curious

Sweet story about Small World :lovestruc

AWesome day planned!! I had to break it up since I had so many comments on MK lol.

Oh ok :thumbsup2 Yeah I joined my DD group on there too but there were like 3000 women on there. Nuts so I never post! I really enjoyed my DD group on Fertility Friend though. We actually have a private group on FB now :goodvibes

You didn't dig yourself a huge hole. I would get mad at those women TTC that would get upset because it took a month or two to get another baby when they already had 4 too. Yeah, infertility sucks at any time but there are LOTS of women out there that would love the chance to just have one with out paying thousands of $'s to get there.

:laughing:I hope he doesn't need a razor or shaving cream yet. I actually don't use a sheet for the PnP because I lay a quilt I made in it to make it more comfy for him. I know that's a no no based on SIDS but I have done it before and he sleeps with a blanky all the time so I think we're ok.

Oh yeah we use the safe in the room for the gun when it's not left in the car (hidden of course). Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like we don't. Definitely don't want it falling into the wrong hands. DH is very safe with his guns.

Yeah I love having our car there. We always drive to the parks too. I hate disney transportation. Especially with all the accidents I keep hearing about with the buses. And I'll try to write about what I did and didn't pack and what all we used at the parks and in the resort on my TR for ya.

Thanks! The only reason I'm hesitant about TSM is because a few months ago DH was spinning Alex around and Alex had water in his ears and couldn't get his equilibrium back fast enough so he totally freaked out and cried for a really long time. We took him to the ER and found out it was fluid in his ear. It was probably a one time freak occurance but I don't want that to happen at the park. Can you imagine?? So I don't know what we're going to do:confused3

Yeah Aladdin's carpets is on day two of the MK touring plan since we're going there twice.

Yeah I really want IASW or PP to be Alex's first MK ride.

BTMRR is closed while we are there sadlly :sad2:

What's the paint brush thing? We liked the island but I just don't think Alex would enjoy it and I don't want to drag him around it. Maybe we'll check it out if we have time.

Yeah that's a good idea about SM or Buzz but like I said, we're going back to MK on Friday so we don't have to fit everything into one day.

Thanks! :goodvibes

Mk day looks great

What plan are you following? Touring Plans? Just curious

Sweet story about Small World :lovestruc

Thank you!

Yes Touring Plans.

Thanks girl :goodvibes It's made IASW that much more special for us

Very sad news. I just found out that the Main Street Electrical Parade is closed until the 11th. The day we come home. That is my all time favorite parade at WDW and I really wanted Alex to see it. I could just cry!

Parade Closed

Touring Plan - Day Three February 6th - Visit my Grandparents

My Grandparents live in Lake Placid which is 2 hours south East of WDW so we usually either have my Grandmother meet us at DTD or we go down to their house to have lunch. This time we're going to their house for lunch since my Grandfather hasn't met Alex yet and he won't go to DTD. I'm looking forward to my grandmother's food. She's an award winning cook :goodvibes

Then we'll leave after lunch and head back to POFQ for our dinner ADR for Boatwright's. Yum yum!! We'll probably just head back to our room after that and have an early bed time.

Touring Plan - Day Four February 7th - EPCOT

I absolutely hate the touring plan for EPCOT from Touring Plans. I mean, it doesn't even include TT. What the crap???? :confused3

So we'll just do what we normally do and wander around until we see something we want to go on or some store we want to shop in.

Our favorites are Soarin' so I'll be getting FP's for that. Yet another ride DH won't go on. So I'll leave him and Becca watching Alex while James and I ride once the FP time has come.

I haven't ridden Figment in many years so I think we'll do that but I remember reading something about something weird happening at the end of the ride that sometimes frightens small children? :confused3

I love wandering around Innovations too and shopping in the Emporium there so we'll definitely be doing that.

We always eat lunch at the Electric Umbrella too.

Nemo is also a MUST DO!!! I think we might skip Turtle Talk though until Alex is a bit older.

Anyone take a young child on Ellen's Universe of Energy? I'm not sure how Alex will react to the Dinosaurs.

We'll probably ride Maelstrom as well if the line isn't long.

TT is a must do for DH but I could take it or leave it so we'll probably do something else while DH rides that on the single rider.

We also always ride SE. I loved this ride as a kid and still do. I can't wait to take Alex on it :goodvibes

And we have a dinner ADR for CR. Yum Yum!!!

Oh and we can't miss The Gran Fiesta Tour either. :goodvibes

Do y'all see anything I'm missing? I'm not sure Alex will be able to stay awake for the fire works but I'd really like to see them this year since we didn't the last time we were there.

That stinks about the Electrical Parade. We love it, and it broke our heart when they moved it from DLR to WDW. We saw it when we went on our honeymoon 20 years ago and it holds a special place in my heart.

How wonderful that Alex gets to meet his great grandpa!! And that you get to eat some of your grandma's wonderful cooking!!

yeah it's gone back and forth between the parks quite a few times.

Yeah he's been complaining that he hasn't met Alex yet so I figured this would be the best opportunity for him to. Yeah I'm really looking forward to my Grandmother's food.

Your vacation sounds wonderful!! Congrats on your son. I understand how emotional infertility can be. Kudos to you & your dh for hanging in there.

As far as your questions on rides and kids being frightened:

Figment - DD was horrified by the stink of the skunk at the end. (she still hates to go on it, but she humors me. :lmao::lmao: she's 8 now)

Malstrom- DD HATES this ride! She was so scared.

Ellens Energy- she wasn't thrilled with this one when she was little, but on that one we just joked about the dino's. Saying things like "aww, he sneezed on Daddy" lightened it up for her.

good luck. Enjoy your visit with your grandparents.

Also, today marks 10 days until our trip. You know what that means?? Advanced online check in baby!!!!! So we are all checked in to our resort and ready to rock and roll!!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::yay::yay::yay::yay:

awwwwwwwwwesome!!! :banana::banana::banana:

I can't believe you're so close!

I'm so sorry. It really hurts to hear things like this. I'm sure not as big a blow for those DVCers and/or people who go a few times a year! (Marsha...:rotfl:)
