Strollering Along At The World (Finally!)- A PTR (Feb '12)*TR Started 2/12*

thank you :goodvibes

We bought lysol so I'm gonna add that to the list and bathtub cleaning items

ah yes, I typically bring travel lysol and travel febreeze (but you are driving so you have enough room to bring the regular size I'm sure)

Yeah I thought about bringing his mickey ears but he hates wearing things on his head. I guess I could try and see if he will keep them on with all the things distracting him at Disney. We're getting more at his first hair cut too.

We normally don't let housekeeping in the room during the week while we're there so we can keep our stuff strewn all over the room but I may just have to let them in so they can do that. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah I guess if I let housekeeping in I'll have to do the tip envelopes. How much do you even give?

ah yes, more ears, awesome! I can't wait for those pics!

Towel animals for Alex would be awesome. You could sit him with the animals you get, that would make for cute picture memories!

I did $1 per person, per day. I don't know if you'd want to do $2 or $3 because Alex is just a baby. LOL

Yeah I got a big can of Lysol so we can use it in his bedroom too. Chris hates febreeze.

yeah that's a good idea. :goodvibes

How do you know how many people are in your room? LOL I think the biggest reason Chris doesn't want anyone in our room is because he's got the gun (being a cop and all) and he has to leave it in the room since they don't allow him to carry in the parks. I guess he could put it in the safe when we're not there.

oh. yeah, he could totally use the safe. and you don't have to let mousekeeping in every single day of course. But a couple towel animals would sure be nice :goodvibes

LOL You don't know who's staying in your room?? You, chris, alex?? that's 3.

did you think I meant how many mousekeeping people were going to be in your room?? LOL

Yeah that's true. I'll discuss it with Chris:goodvibes

yes that's what I thought you meant

I was going to recommend hand sanitizer and lysol wipes. The hand sanitizer is obvious but the lysol wipes I used on things like the remote. It is the dirtiest thing in the room.

the list looks great

PP is right, don't worry if you forget something. You have your car, so you can always hit a walmart if you need

Lysol wipes are great, so you can wipe down door knobs and remotes, like Michele and Cheri added

We tip 1 dollar per person in room , per night

Normally at end of week, we leave like a five or ten dollars, if we had really good service

We tip a dollar per person too Kelly. I have never made envelopes before but you know I might this time.

Do you use any kind of lotions for him? That was probably the only thing I could see that we would have on our list that you didn't have. Other random things we brought that may help were pacifier wipes (Just in case it falls on the ground and you can't get somewhere to rinse it off), Clorox/Lysol wipes, and Children's Benadryl. Hopefully you don't need it, but I don't like to travel anywhere without it since you never know what kind of new things or foods he may come in contact with! He broke out for absolutely no reason that we could figure out one time when we stayed overnight at my mom's and had to run out and buy some. What a pain! Now we usually keep it in the diaper bag so it's always handy. He also started to break out around his mouth at my MIL's house on Christmas after eating some bites of pie, and they live out in the middle of nowhere, so having it handy was great! Maybe that's the pediatric nurse coming out in me, who knows. :rotfl:

Other than that, I would say just keep close attention for the days leading up to your trip of what you use on a daily basis and make sure to pack any of those things. If you don't use it on a daily basis, chances are you won't need to pack it for Disney. However, I'm the queen of overpacking, so I should probably take my own advice!!

I'm so glad you were able to get the Vinyl for that price!!! Just gotta watch and wait for those kinds of things. :thumbsup2 Also, we got that same t-shirt for DS for our October trip! I know it's supposed to be a St. Patrick's Day shirt or whatever, but we saw Donald and thought "Disney Trip T-Shirt" so we bought a 2T. :rotfl:

Yay, your trip is SO CLOSE!!! :woohoo:

Definitely putting the Lysol wipes on my list for groceries this weekend. Thanks! :goodvibes

Thanks! Yeah, I can ask Becca to pick things up for me outside of the parks I'm sure.

Will be getting some.

Thanks. I'll definitely get some envelopes for tips.

Oh yes Lotion! Thanks!! :goodvibes And Benadryl is a great idea too. Thanks again! Good thing you had it handy at your MIL's house! Never know what they're gonna be magically allergic to on a trip for sure.

 I'm good at over packing too. That's why I like to make a list for Alex because if I don't I'll just pack everything in sight and I'll still manage to forget something. :confused3

Thanks! Definitely gotta be patient with those kinds of things otherwise you pay more than you should. And yeah I said the same thing about the shirt. Who cares if it's a St. Patty's day shirt. It's Donald and it's cute so it's trip worthy :goodvibes It doesn't scream St. Patrick's Day anyways.

haha I wouldn't have known that shirt was a St Patty's shirt if no one said anything

Hopefully you won't have any bad dreams like I do. It starts out further out from vacay, "oh no, we forgot the CAMERA?!" and then almost daily nightmares until it finishes off with a bang, "WHAT?? WE LEFT ALL OUR LUGGAGE AT HOME???!" My mind is ridiculous. :rotfl2:

omg I would freak if I had those dreams!! I've been having strange dreams lately but most of them are about babies lately :confused3

Ok so now I'm going to go through the touring plans for our days.

First up: Saturday, February 4th - MGM (or DHS...whatever you like to call it. I'm a purist )

Plan Steps
Disney's Hollywood Studios Entrance
Arrive at the entrance to Disney Hollywood Studios 30 minutes prior to opening.

Toy Story Mania!
As soon as the park opens, obtain FASTPASSes for Toy Story Mania at Pixar Place. *Note: yeah, we'll be getting fast passes but I'm still not sure if we'll take Alex on this.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid
See Voyage of the Little Mermaid. *Note: We've never watched this show. Would it be good for a one year old?

Star Tours: The Adventures Continue
Ride Star Tours. *Note: We will actually probably visit this after we get our fast passes for TSM. DH won't be able to wait

Jedi Training Academy *Note: We will be skipping this since Alex is only one I think we'll do Disney Jr instead

Muppet*Vision 3D
See MuppetVision 3D. *Note: We'll attempt this with Alex but I plan on trying to sit as close to the exit as possible so we can leave if Alex gets cranky

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure
Explore the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set. *Note: we'll be skipping this

Toy Story Mania!
Ride Toy Story Mania! using the FASTPASSes obtained earlier.

Backlot Express
Eat lunch. *Note: We love Backlot Express so I'm sure we'll wind up here or at Pizza Planet

Disney's Hollywood Studios Entrance
Take a mid-day break. If your children are willing to ride Tower of Terror and you've not already done so, send one member of your party to get FASTPASSes for Tower of Terror on your way out of the park. *Note: yes we will be getting fast passes for this. I MUST ride this since I didn't get to in 2010

Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage
Return to the park and see Beauty and the Beast. *Note: we've never seen this show either. Is it ok for a one year old?

Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show
See the Lights! Motors! Action! Extreme Stunt Show. Check the daily entertainment schedule for show times. *Note: we must do this!! Alex will LOVE it! He loves Lightening McQueen

Indiana Jones is a good second choice. *Note: we will be doing this regardless since it's DH's favorite

Studio Backlot Tour
If time permits, take the Backlot Tour. *Note: Instead of the Backlot tour we'll probably go to Disney Jr. if we haven't been to it yet

Toluca Legs Turkey Co.
Eat dinner. Good nearby selections include the Toluca Legs Turkey Company, Starring Rolls Cafe, and the Hollywood Brown Derby. *Note: we have an ADR for SciFi

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
Ride the Tower of Terror if your children are willing and you've not already done so. *Note: Hooty hoo!! I will be riding this with Becca's DH

The American Idol Experience
See The American Idol Experience if time permits. Check the daily entertainment schedule for show times. *Note: we'll be skipping this and probably head back to the resort for bed by this point.

Disney's Hollywood Studios Entrance
Depart Disney Hollywood Studios.

Sounds like a pretty good first day at the parks to me :goodvibes Hopefully somewhat following this plan will help us get to everything we want to.

did you think I meant how many mousekeeping people were going to be in your room?? LOL
