I made the mistake of telling my DH that they will announce whatever name you give them upon boarding and he has picked out a lulu for our upcoming Alaska cruise in July. "Dr. And Mrs. viscount V Goatlips the third".

I love it! lol :rotfl2:  :cool1:

so do you find humor in tripping blind people???

Time to switch to....

We are also a 3 name family. We were called the "Dysfunctional" family when we boarded!!!

Now the kids are trying to come up with another name for our next cruise!! Lord only knows what they will come up with this time!!

I am very good friends with a blind guy, and he makes the best blind jokes ever, I mean they are freakin hilarious. He has chosen to go through life laughing with everyone. He has chosen not to be a victom and stomp and jump up and down screaming "I'm offended!" every chance he gets.

Your mileage may vary.

Try making a small child understand that one.:confused3

There are MANY things that are hard to explain to a small child. You could say "that family thinks it is funny what they said, I dont" if you really hated the announcement. Or, you could complain to Disney, make a big stink, and they would probably stop doing funny announcements all together, and the world would be all that much better, right? :sad2:

I dont want to derail this thread, but I dont think doing the "fa fa fa fa family" even approaches being offensive.

I think we have hijacked this thread enough, dont you? :grouphug:

I will stand my ground on this one! no one should make fun of another persons disability period it is wrong and rude:sad1: If. some one wants to laugh at their own disability that their business. There is a big difference between a funny announcement and an announcement that makes fun of another persons disability such as stuttering!

I'm surprised this thread has been allowed to go on this long. Where are the mods?! :confused3

I respect you for standing your ground, we just have different opinions, which is fine. You stated your opinions respectfully, as did I, clearly we have no business being on the internet. Shouldnt we start personal attacks and making judgements? I guess those are only for the "Wearing jeans to dinner" threads. ;) :grouphug:

Back to our origianally scheduled programming, what is your way of being announced? I am thinking just my daugthers names "Princess Julia and Princess Grace"

We kept it restpectful, but totally off track. No need for mod intervention at this point, IMHO.

I've seen things shut down for a lot less! ;)

I like your princess announcements. :)

Thanks!

Love your siggy, are you getting married onboard? Congrats!

Thanks. :) Sadly, no. Our families would stage a riot if we had a small wedding! FH and I wanted a nice, small wedding at a chapel that means the absolute world to the two of us. Sadly, it only holds 55 people, and that simply wouldn't do for our families. :sad2: As much as I would LOVE to get married on board the ship, it would mean that fewer people could go. I just can't reasonably see getting 150 of our closest family and friends to go on a cruise with us and each pay their own way! :rotfl:
