STRANGEST experience in Disney

in an attempt to get this back on track... :sunny:

two things stick out in my mind:

1) Christmas 2001. We were wandering around MK and kept running into the same family. They were very noticeable because of their dress and mannerisms-odd to say the least. The female adult with the family was an older woman in an ECV. She spent the day riding around with a baby doll in her arms. Not just holding it like a doll that a younder kid had discarded, but like a baby. We ran into them at least 5 times. Each time she had the doll cradled in her arms like it was the real thing.

2) a couple of years ago, we went into Pecos Bill's for lunch and saw a guy "feasting" off the condiments. He had made a salad out of the toppings and chowing down. The best was when we noticed he was drinking from the little creamers. Taking the budget trip to a new high, I guess! :rotfl:

Uconn01001 is a bit cranky today!!!

Your remarks and attitude make me embarassed to be from UCONN territory. :sad2: (And by the way, lets not drag down UCONN after that great win yesterday woohoo!!)

I am not sure if I read this one too early in the morning but this made me gag. YUCK!!!!

This past Sept we were getting on a bus from MK to PORFQ. They changed bus drivers at MK. The guy looked really nervous. I knew we were in trouble when he slowed down at every cross road, every light, etc. It was becoming clear he really didn't know where he was going. We finally got to PORFQ and he drives around the parking lot and heads over to POR-riverside. This was after he asked the gate guard at FQ if this was truly FQ and the guard said yes. So then not only do we not stop at FQ, but he doesn't make anystops at Riverside. We are basically circling the stops. This was at night and everyone was tired. DH finally had enough and went up to tell him how to get back to FQ. But the guy didn't understand English (or very little of it). I really thought DH was going to offer to drive the bus. Somehow we made it back to FQ (and it wasn't the way of the bus route - somehow he manuvered through the parking lots). He let us out where the Magical Express picks up people. Everyone got off the bus - even the ones who wanted to go to Riverside. One guy said he could see it become a Twilight Zone episode. But even as the bus was leaving, he turned the bus the wrong way and tried to take a left, not a right (again heading into the parking lots). Just a bizzare experience.

Ladies and gentleman - it's really difficult to "clean up" a thread when so many people are quoting the offensive post.

If you find something offensive (and I don't think anyone's off base in finding what has been said here offensive), simply report the post. If you look to the left of each post, in the box where the username is, at the very bottom is a small triangle with an exclamation point. That's the report a post button.

Do NOT quote or respond to remarks like that. Just report the post, and we will take care of it. That will help in keeping threads open instead of having to lock them. The more posts that feed into something like that, the harder it is to keep them open and just remove the offending remarks.

uconn - please reread the posting guidelines you agreed to when you signed up here.

Hello---well I don't believe the boy did squirt the fan but even if he had---who is the adult? Even if he got her very wet she still could have been nicer about it. Rude adults don't like when children are rude but they don't care if they are rude. Double standard. Would really have hurt that lady to be nicer? I would like to tell that lady to relax and be nice.

Pixiechick, my great aunt had Alzheimer's and, in the later stages, she had a "baby". She carried that doll everywhere. Maybe this was a similar situation.

I'm sorry if my last post wasn't crystal clear - I am new to this. I've been lurking for several months reading all the discussions, and have just plucked up courage to join in. :wave2:
Just to clear any misunderstanding, DS did not, at any time, squirt any water or use the fan while we were in the Tiki bird building.

OH yes there are several characters at Disney other then cartoon ones. There are thre famous ones. of which i wont get into .

We were at MK, waiting for Spectro to start and trying to find a seat. As we walk down Main Street, I find this "shoe shiner's" seat under the middle of the train station. It was a comfy chair, just sitting there! I asked a CM if I could sit there, and we did! Since we had an hour to kill, DM, DS, and I kept switching off. Eventually, my DM and DS decided they were tired and wanted to head back to POP early, leaving me alone. About 10 minutes later, some kid comes and sits down on the base of the chair (the chair was elevated by about 2 "rung" type things). I didn't mind, but I thought it was weird. Finally he leaves. NEXT comes this woman with her 3 loud, screaming children. It was apparent she was from a Spanish speaking country, but I didn't mind, UNTIL... one of her kids crawls onto me! I tried taking the child off me, but it was latched onto me. The mother watched and smiled! I asked if she could take her off me, but she didn't! Finally, the daughter begins to crawl down off of me. As the daughter is crawling down, she falls off and against a wall! The crying ensues, and it looked like she was injured, and I was concerned. The mother ignored it! The crying was getting louder, longer, and more annoying. I decided to walk away 2 minutes before Wishes started, and I ended up just watching it from Main Street standing up. Just very weird...

What really stinks about that story is............

you gave up a great seat!! :lmao:

I cant believe as many times I have been to Disney I have not had anything weird happen to me-- maybe I am just oblivious  But I dont think so b/c I am usually very aware of my surroundings!

I will be in Disney in 2 weeks- and I am, once again, on a hunt for strangeness!

I feel like an outcast! :rotfl:

Nice thread, except for the uncalled for bashing of us Southerners. But a couple of comments inspired by the topics on here ...

I don't mind the fan-thingies that kids spray me with from time to time by accident. But if the kid is using the fan-thingie as some sort of a weapon, aiming it a folks and spraying while the parents don't seem to be watching. (And many kids do just that, and many parents seem not to be paying attention to their kid's actions), I do get a bit uptight and sometimes comment to the parents. (This seems not to be the case with the OP, who was paying attention in the Tiki cage.)

And I also enjoyed the comments about the wardrobe malfunction. Seems like I rembemer hearing about a similar malfunction somewhere else. LOL

Enjoy.

First you said that he did not use the water, just the fan. Then you said that she did have a problem with a little squirt of water. The main question is did you or didn't you squirt the poor lady? If you did, you should have been the one to apoligized. The seats are close and you should have told your son before you went in to see the show not to use the fan. SO IT IS YOUR FAULT.

Read the thread over, and more slowly, they didn't use the spray bottle.

Haha. They are some...interesting characters, I would say. Especially since I see one quite often.

That's weird....I thought that they had to go through some type of training and that a more experiences driver rode with you until you knew where to go....I would not have been so happy.

No need to yell but I would not expect anything less from someone from the South

Disney World is in the south so I guess you must not like Mickey either!!!
