STRANGEST experience in Disney

LOL.... I smell a Troll.

Now where were we? I want to hear a few more strange experience stories!
 
I agree. Back to the original intent of this thread. Normally I don't respond to posters like this, but they went over the line. My apologies for hijacking this thread.

You simply failed to comprehend the post.

If you read it carefully, you will see that she clearly said her child did not attempt to use it, BUT EVEN IF there had been water, a simple "please don't do that" would have done better than making a big scene before her child had done anything. She was imagining what the reaction would have been if it had happened, based on the woman's clear overreaction when nothing had.

From your later comment in this thread, I'm sure you've been reported already, but really - it doesn't look good for you when you lash out at your misunderstanding of what someone said yet can't even form decent sentences on your own. I'm from the north, but it seems the only one who is having issues here is you personally from a lack of understanding the topic and lashing out in such a ridiculous statement when someone tried to correct your ignorance.

Several years ago, at MGM, we had just come out of Voyage of the Little Mermaid, our dd was about 6. It was about 1/2 hour before the parade time, and we walked about a little, looking for a spot to view the parade and found one. A small space in the crowd.

We stood there dd in front, and waited. Soon these two ladies (probably late 50's early 40's) started saying very loudly, things like "If they think they can just come along at the last minute when we've been waiting here for an hour...they can think again". (they were sitting on a wall about 6-8 feet away). In the meantime we had invited another child who couldn't see to come and stand in front with dd (with the permission of parents). Well...the "ladies", pushed their way to the front when the parade started, standing immediately in front of the kids, and walking backwards, so as to push the kids out of the way.

Really, the children would not have blocked their view, and it would have cost them nothing to be charitable, and let them stand there. Sometimes I think Walt Disney would turn in his grave.

We have been in many situations, where we scrunched up so that others could see shows, fireworks, parades etc. I guess some people just aren't touched by the magic.

It's amazing to me how some people love to pick on people from the South when some of the most beloved/famous people are from the south.
Elvis Presley-Tupelo, Mississippi
Oprah Winfrey-Kosciusko, Mississippi
Morgan Freeman-Mississippi
the list goes on

Grant it, there are many attitudes and behaviors of my fellow "southerners" that I am ashamed and embrassed by but......don't group us all together. I have lived up North and down South and I can tell you that their is behavior that is unbecoming to both regions. With that being said, we can all learn from one another and try to love and find the good in others.

Well, we've only been to Disney once, and all and all, it was great, only been back a few weeks...but one thing that happened there astounded me.
I guess I should preface this by I am REALLY REALLY laid back, but VERY easily irritated when you get after my kids.
We were watching the parade, by tthe ice cream shop on Main Street and my kids were having ice cream. Well, my oldest DROPPED her ice cream, and a small amount of it got on a child in front of her (i'm not going to say that perhaps it wasn't the best idea to have her eating ice cream in that spot...but she was). What ensued killed all disney "magic" for me for the whole day. The woman proceded to call my child ignorant, and scream at me and my children...being very nasty and undisneylike..
it was just astounding to me..
Later, after speaking with a CM, I was pleased that they at least tried to make my daughter feel better...but still very unnerving for her.
And..I'm from the South...and I don't take kindly to comments about Southerners meant in a degraqding manner manner.
 
Just came back...

Thursday night on the Boardwalk I stood in line to buy a pizza. I was in line about 15 minutes (Epcot fireworks had just ended) and was next in line. The order taker leans out and says "Cash only, no more credit cards or room charges"

I had neither, and walked away hungry and scratching my head.

It isn't that weird, and I'm not that upset. But why? Credit cards have alternatives when the system or power goes down. I guess there is some logical explanation, but it wasn't given then and I can't figure it out now. :confused3

Our weirdest experience happened at the opening of AK. We were among the throng of people heading to Mt Everest. My DH didn't look at the map and was just following my lead. I have short legs and the kids were in a tizzy to hurry. DH says," Well, if mom would just speed up." A woman with a stroller turned around and snapped," Well, just move around me." DH was mortified. I laughed and told her," I think I'm the mom he's referring to." She just glared and moved off to another trail. For the rest of the week I reminded DH to watch his mouth because apparently everyone thinks you're talking to them :rotfl:
 
By the way, I'm from the North and think people from the south have great intelligence and wonderful manners! Forgot to add that!!! :thumbsup2
 
I am from a border state. :teeth: But during the Civil War our sympathies were with the South. So I guess I am offended too. Sending southern pixie dust to you know who. :wizard:
