Several years ago, at MGM, we had just come out of Voyage of the Little Mermaid, our dd was about 6. It was about 1/2 hour before the parade time, and we walked about a little, looking for a spot to view the parade and found one. A small space in the crowd.
We stood there dd in front, and waited. Soon these two ladies (probably late 50's early 40's) started saying very loudly, things like "If they think they can just come along at the last minute when we've been waiting here for an hour...they can think again". (they were sitting on a wall about 6-8 feet away). In the meantime we had invited another child who couldn't see to come and stand in front with dd (with the permission of parents). Well...the "ladies", pushed their way to the front when the parade started, standing immediately in front of the kids, and walking backwards, so as to push the kids out of the way.
Really, the children would not have blocked their view, and it would have cost them nothing to be charitable, and let them stand there. Sometimes I think Walt Disney would turn in his grave.
We have been in many situations, where we scrunched up so that others could see shows, fireworks, parades etc. I guess some people just aren't touched by the magic.
