Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

Yuck and double yuck!! I hate when appliances and cars break down even though I know it's just life! Sigh!

Hoping your washer works just fine when you start it up!! Looking forward to the next installment of your TR...........whenever that is! :)

How awful. Our basment has flooded in the past a couple of times and I tell you it is heartwrenching and alot of work.

I'm so sorry about your flood it sounds like a nightmare. I would have been hysterical! I was so engrossed in the story but then you had me laughing with Hunter falling down and his socks coming off. Is your washer ok? We had a flood in our bathroom recently from the toilet:scared: and the water went under the wall and into the other bathroom so it flooded two bathrooms YUCK!
I hope everything is back to normal!

Great character pictures Lisa! I love it when the older kids really get into it! :thumbsup2

I hope you are getting the washing machine situation all squared away. What a mess!

bummmerr i hate floods! quite happen to me a few times at work, thank goodness for mops:)

That flood sounds awful! Thanks for sharing that story- I was cracking up at your description of Hunter sliding around. :rotfl: You have the gift of the ability to make us laugh.

Good morning everybody! Thanks for all the kind comments about the washing machine/flood. Yes, it was a horrible thing to go through at the time but I have to tell you that watching Hunter hanging on for dear life and slipping around trying to answer the cell phone was hilarious! It was just what I needed amongst the chaos and flood.

The washing machine is all hooked up and running again! Without the need to call a repairman....I might add. I was determined to try and fix it before spending money on a repairman or a new washer. We took the face plate where the knobs are off and found one little hose had come undone. I pushed it back on and it's worked every since. The first two loads, I stood nearby to make sure it wasn't going to overflow again but it didn't.

I'm happy as a pig covered in mud lying in the sunshine!

oh wow!!I am sorry to hear about the washer and water incident!!I hope when you plug it in that it was just a fluke!!
Leave it up to your family to find a laugh in the midst of a crisis!!I love it!:thumbsup2

It's working fine and dandy now. Of course, I watched the machine like a hawk the first couple of loads. Didn't want to be caught off guard again.

We've laughed so hard over Hunter slip sliding around and hanging on to the cabinet. It was just so funny!

Love your expressions! We don't have such colorful ones here on Canada's East Coast (well, except for Newfoundland; they could give you a run for your money!).

My parents' dryer bit the dust not long ago, so the one they have now is new, but the washing machine is still going strong after about 20 years. It's a quality one, but I'm worried that it's going to do the same thing yours did sometime soon. They're lucky in that my mother is a real do-it-yourselfer; my father is basically useless when it comes to fixing anything (don't get me wrong; he has many, many strong suits. Being a handyman just isn't one of them!)!

:mickeyjum Here's to hoping you can be back at writing soon! Looking forward to reading about the rest of your trip :)

Our family is pretty good at coming up with different sayings/expressions. My favorite one is the one I tell my son every morning and night "Love you like a hog's butt!". He once asked me why I said that and I said that ham is my favorite food and a hog's butt is where ham comes from. Thus when I tell him I love him like a hog's butt, he knows that he's my favorite.

I was glad that we were able to fix the washing machine. I really didn't want to spend any money on fixing it. That would have been spending my Disney money and I was trying my darnedest to keep from doing that.:scared1:

John's not too great at fixing plumbing or cars. He would rather hit it with a hammer until it either died or started back up. Give him a piece of wood though and he can build anything. Everybody has their talent and fixing things isn't his talent. I often say my talent is telling stories and typing real fast.:rotfl:

I'm working on an installment now and will post it in just a bit.

Okay, so Lacey's reminded me that I told our Epcot day all wrong. She says that we came in the park and went straight to Spaceship Earth. I remember that now thanks to her 22 year old brain jumpstarting my 44 year old brain.

I do remember that the line wasn't too terribly long but we did have to wait. And that's when we spotted him. Him.....the guy with the mesh see-through tank top. :scared1: Him.....the guy who had such long back hair that it stuck through his mesh see-through tank top. :sad2: Him....the guy who when we turned around, we could see that his beard was braided. :scared: Him....the guy who had on cutoff blue jeans shorts that were up to his mid-thighs. :crazy2: Him...the guy with hightop tennis shoes with velcro straps. He was about two of the winding lanes in front of us and as we wound around, we could hear people talking about him. He thought he was one cool dude. Anyway, he provided us with a little chuckle while we were waiting.

We were excited to ride the new version since it had been refurbed since our last visit. I am pretty sure that these pictures are out of order and you can't really see our faces in the screens but you know me and pictures....gotta post 'em.

Now, I know for a fact that I took more pictures while on Spaceship Earth because I turned off my flash and I was surprised that they turned out. I'll go back and find them and post them. The way photobucket and I have been tussling around lately, they are probably hidden from me just for spite.

After we rode Spaceship Earth, that's when we went back over to The Land to see if Living With The Land was back up and running.

On the way there, I passed this:

Continued in next post

Before, I said that I thought we had skipped the Imagination Pavilion altogether. Lacey reminded me that we didn't skip the Figmet ride. How could I have forgotten Figment? :figment: The ride was virtually a walk-in when we got there. I took pictures....with my flash off, of course:

SANY0137-2.jpg

SANY0138-2.jpg

I know that you're going to have a hard time believing this but..................John fell asleep! Gasp! How in the world this man can fall asleep in a ride that sings, blasts air and smells on you, rings bells, etc., I'll never know but I have proof that he did:

SANY0139-2.jpg

Imaaaaagination! Imaaaagination! Imaaaagination! Something about turning something upside down. Ummm, don't remember the words to the song but maybe you do.

I nudged John to wake him up so we could get off the ride. We wanted to send ourselves and our friends emails of us at Epcot so we stood around like vultures and waited on a computer terminal to open up. Here's are my baby vultures, I mean kids:

SANY0150-1.jpg

Several of the terminals weren't working which was a bummer. A terminal finally opened up and we sent two different pictures to our home address and to Lacey's mission friends. We try not to hog the terminals for too long because we want other people to have a chance.

Okay, now, I've come back to where I posted the last trip installment. Here's the family after we left the Imagination Pavilion.

SANY0151-1.jpg

Up next: I guess I better do a little recap so I, I mean ya'll, can remember what we did the rest of the Epcot day.

Okay, so of course we all felt a little sympathy for you when this happened, and think about hearing about it to others and maybe even snicker.

Friday I read about your incident!!!!

As you see by my ticker we leave this week for our trip, sooooooo, clothes washing it will be. I go put in a load, and get ready to go do yardwork. My wife is in the kids room pulling out their clothes, and as I am walking out I hear the water still running.....you guest it...OVERFLOW!!!!!:headache:

I look down and 2-3 inches of water is spilling all over the floor. Sound familiar? Flashback to your story and trying to soak it up. Thank gosh for shop vacs.

Anyway, the hose you refer to is the pressure sensor hose for the low, med, and high loads. They build up calcium and can cause the lever to stick. Thank you internet for diagnosing the issue. And after I took it all apart and blew in the hose, Viola, it works like a charm.

So needless to say, I am not snickering anymore, and even have more sympathy for you now.

But all is well, clothes are washed and packed, and when I was done, I could not help but yell when the commercial guy said " You just fixed the washer machine so you could wash clothes, what are you going to do now " I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!:lmao:

Oh my word! I can't believe that this happened to us both inside of a week's time. I would have never known about the hose if I hadn't insisted that we take the front panel knob thingie off so I could have a look. Our hose just came off. Now I know that we need to watch for calcium build up. See, I knew the Disboards weren't just for Disney information.

I don't mind if you snickered. Heck, I was snickering too after it was all over and done with. You can definitely tell that we aren't a family who minds somebody snickering at us know and then. If I didn't want ya'll to, I wouldn't post some of the things I do.

At least both of us have our washers fixed. Now, if only I was heading to Disney in less than a week!

How 'bout a little recap since I had my Epcot day all messed up. Won't be inserting too many pictures since you've already seen them.

We got off Figment, took a picture, got some refreshments, took a bathroom break, watched a guy feed a squirrel, stood around like first timers wondering what to do next, spy Innoventions building and decide to go in.

Well, how about a picture or two anyway so this won't be too boring. Lacey and Hunter did The Great Piggy Bank Adventure:

SANY0159-1.jpg

John rummaged around in the bag and found a Mickey rice crispy treat which he promptly bit the ear off of:

SANY0163-1.jpg

Then, he decided to weeble wobble his way through the Segway tour. Poor thing, his balance was the pits:

SANY0168-2.jpg

SANY0173-2.jpg

We made a Velcro frog before leaving the building and when we walked outside we saw that it was cloudy. At this point, we just ambled around until we got close to Mexico which is when it started raining. We, along with 955,000 other parks guests, ran into the Mexico pavilion. Yes, I'm exaggerating the number but it felt like that many people.

We searched for Donald on the boat ride:

SANY0193-1.jpg

Found a hidden Mickey:

SANY0198-1.jpg

After the ride, we looked and it was still raining cats and dogs and even pigs too so we browsed the store. We tried on hats:

SANY0185-1.jpg

Took pictures of random things:

SANY0182-1.jpg

SANY0183-1.jpg

And, yes, even danced:

For purely your pleasure and to give you a chuckle, I post the following pictures of the whole poncho fiasco:

Up next: Garden Grill recap

Another mini-recap of what we had done so far.

Of course, when we finally broke down and bought the ponchos, it was barely raining out. A fact that we didn't know until we went outside. We walked over to Garden Grill for our dinner ADR. Everybody and their second cousin twice removed was waiting for their ADR. We sat down on the floor along with everybody else and waited:

SANY0209-1.jpg

Shocka Wocka! John fell asleep:

SANY0213-1.jpg

Finally our buzzer went off and we were seated. One Hidden Mickey on the table:

Two Hidden Mickey on the table:

Characters came by consistently and my babies boogy oogy oogied 'til they just couldn't boogy no more with the characters:

Okay, so that's a recap of the way our Epcot day had gone so far. Next up, I'll be posting pictures of Illuminations!

Hi, i just went back through your trip report to read stuff i hadn't had a chance to read and it cracked me up! Is there anything you don't take pix of? :rotfl: You have a great family! Sorry about the very sad beginning to your trip, but the rest of what I read sounds very fun! I will keep reading. I can't wait to be there in about 53 days!

Glad that I'm able to provide you with a laugh or two. And, no, there's not too much that I won't take a picture of. I bet I haven't posted half of the pictures that I actually took. If it's at Disney, it's just waitin' on me to snap a picture of it. Well, I do that at home too but even more so at Disney.

The wreck still gives me nightmares and every time I hear about a bad wreck, I think about it. So horrible.

I'm very lucky that we are a tight family. This trip was even more special to us since Lacey was able to go after having not gone for two years. In the back of our mind, we were thinking that it was actually the last time she would go with us. So, as you can see, we lived it up!

I bet you're about to bust waiting on those 53 days to pass. We still have 78 days and I'm more than ready to start my packing!

Whoo hoo! Caught up again! I had to chuckle about the fried fish! Us Louisiana people know how to cook it right!!!

I cried when I saw Figment, I LOVE Figment!

103 days before we leave!!!

You, being from Louisiana, know how fried fish needs to be fried.....deep fried and crispy!

I love Figment too. I can't believe that I almost forgot that we saw him

Love your trip report!!!!

Thanks so very much! I hope to get our Illuminations pictures up soon. Depends on how busy the office gets today.
