Stop Making Me Laugh Or I'll Pee My Pants! Go Back! I Lost My Shoe! Trip Report!

fun recaps!1 I love how John can sleep anywhere! Danny can too! but we have to wake him real quick or walk far away so as not to be associated with the sounds :rotfl2:

:wave2:Connie

Oh Mr. John can do some snorin' but he usually doesn't snore until he's in a deep sleep. Cat napping sitting up is usually snoreless.

Love the recaps!! John is too funny!! My Dad is like that can catch a nap anywhere!!LOL
The pictures you can send at epcot..do you get them off your camera or do you take the picture there someplace?

John is a hoot and a half!

The pictures that you take at Epcot are done from little computer terminals just as you get off Figment. They have cameras on them to take your picture and then you can play around with them on the computer. Easy to do. The only problem is most times all of the terminals are being used and you have to wait a while for one to open up.

Please tell me you took a picture of mesh see through tank top guy I'd love to see that one! I still love the pic of John fighting the poncho. Glad to see he wasn't missing out on his sleep:laughing: It made me sad when you said it might be Laceys last trip with you maybe when she's married and has her own children you will have an even bigger bunch to go to disney with:hug:
Sounds like a fun day so far can't wait to hear more!

I actually had my camera in my hand and wanted to take a picture of mesh shirt guy but couldn't ever get a good shot. John and ponchos do not mix! He hates them with a passion. If he knows that the kids are laughing at him, he will ham it up even more.

I have a inkling that we will be planning a wedding some time next year and that we may just have to book Lacey a Disneymoon. 'Course, we'll all want to go along too. I have already told my children that I am taking my grandkids to Walt Disney World. It's just a known fact so they better be ready for it!

I need to go back and update the first post to include ALL of my trip report updates. I know I've added several since them.

I love the "tinkle station" reference. I am notorious for having to go to search one out and my boys just roll their eyes at me and say "again?".

We just love the CBR and I can't wait for my Mama to see the resort grounds.

After our meal at the Garden Grill, we decided we better head out to World Showcase and find a spot to watch Illuminations. There were already crowds everywhere. We thought about walking all the way back around to the other side of the lagoon but decided to just find something on the Future World side. We went to the end of the walkway that connects Future World to World Showcase and stopped between the two stores. There was a large area roped off so that was a no-go. We walked a little to the left and then we were behind some trees so that wouldn't work. We kept wiggling and worming our way until we found a semi-okay spot.

John and Hunter decided to walk down to the right towards Canada to see if there was anything better down that way. He said he'd call me on the cell phone if he found something. In the meantime, the announcements kept coming on saying 15 minutes....10 minutes......and then 5 minutes. I tried to call John who didn't answer. So, Lacey and I stayed where we were and waited. Lacey's phone rang just as the music started. It was John who was way over at the United Kindgom. He and Hunter were going to stay there and watch and we were staying put too. I was a little bummed that we weren't all watching it together but it was okay.

I have lots of Illumination pictures to post. I know they are all out of sequence but they are pictures nevertheless:

And then, all too soon, all we saw were the fading lights and the smoke:

Ahhhhh, I love Illuminations!

I tried calling John again and he answered. They were going to stay put and let some of the crowds go by before attempting to make their way back to us. Lacey and I ducked into one of the stores and bought a t-shirt/hat combo that she had been eyeing. I took the shirt. She took the hat. We looked around some more just to kill time.

Finally, John called to say they were just passing the first store and we told him we would meet him in between the two stores. We finally met up and talked about what to do next. Tonight was extra magic hours and there was only one thing that we really wanted to do before leaving......Test Track!

There were still gobs of people walking out of the park so it seemed like a good time to call Mama and check in. She told us all about what kind of mail we had gotten that day. She loves getting mail. She also told us that she had had a little skin cancer cut off her forehead that morning. The doctor had looked at it and said it looked like he had gotten it all but would know for sure in a couple of days. The kids chatted with her some more and then we said goodbye for the night.

Up next: Our final hoorah at Epcot!

Great updates, Lisa!!! I LOVE the Illuminations photos!

I haven't seen illuminations in 10 years. I think it was 1999 the last time I saw it. Not sure if that was even the name then. And I'm sure the Globe wasn't there yet.
It was cool from what I remember though. We have tried each year, but the family just gets too tired each nigth. I don't though! We were close to making it this year, but Skip was in alot of pain and Claire wanted to go swim. So we left jsut as they were starting. I did see some from the bus. :confused3

Simply Amazing! Illuminations is absolutely my favourite firework show:) Always brings a smile to my face whenever i see them:)

DH loves Illuminations. Me, not so much. Not that it isn't spectacular, because it is ... it's Disney after all. I just can't watch it because I have extremely light sensitive eyes and all the explosions are just too close and it really hurts my eyes. I have tried to watch it several times (even with my sunglasses on), and just can't do it. :cool1: I end up with tears streaming down my face and my eyes burn so bad I can hardly keep them open. I usually end up sitting back on a park bench to wait for DH. I don't mind, though. He puts in a lot of bench time while I go on all the coasters. :rotfl::rotfl:

Just wanted to say hi, I've been lurking trying to catch up. Your family sounds really great and close knit. We'll be in Disney the same time that you will be this year, I hope we run into each other at some point (in a totally non-stalkerish way! :rotfl:)

Because of my Bell's Palsy, I sometimes have problems with bright lights. They make my eyes hurt and water. I hate that you can't enjoy the fireworks while at Disney. At least you and your husband balance out the bench time.:thumbsup2

Hello there! I'm glad that you've come out of lurkdome to say hey. We are a close knit family and love spending time together.

I would love to run into you in a non-stalkerish way. Did you know that we are actually doing a Dis Meet at Epcot on the 28th? If you think you guys would want to come, I can find the link for you to post your information and keep up with the Dis Meet plans.

While working on my next trip report installment, I found a short video that Lacey took of Illuminations. Hope you enjoy!

After talking with Mama on the phone for a while, we decided to walk over to Test Track and see how long the wait was. A few pictures as we walked. They didn't turn out too good but, you know me, I'm posting them anyway.

Just as we got to the end of the walkway, we saw a Photopass photographer and asked her to take our picture. Lacey asked her how many pictures she had taken that day and, while I can't remember exactly what her response was, I do remember it being way up in the thousands. :scared1: I can't find the Photopass picture right now but will post it when I find it. Believe me when I tell you, you can tell we were all hot and tired. Definitely not fresh and raring to go like our morning Photopass picture.

Soon, we were cutting through to Test Track and I, of course, had to take some pictures:

See some of the people walking away? Yeah, well, that's because Test Track was temporary shut down. We were all tired and ready to go but didn't want to leave before riding Test Track. So, I walked up to a castmember who said it should be back up and running very soon. Given that, we figured we just sit down and wait. After about 15 minutes, we saw that people were being let in so we jumped up and were able to walk right into the building.

DSCN1938.jpg

I had heard that there were hidden Mickeys to be found while waiting in line but I guess we were too tired to really search for them. I did take a few random pictures while waiting:

Soon, were in the pre-show room watching the film clip. Am I the only one that doesn't like how they handle the lines at Test Track. I don't like how they open up the doors and you work your way into a line. It's okay if there's only one pre-show room working at once but if there are a couple, then you feel like you are cutting in front of somebody. I don't know. It's hard to explain. I just don't like it.

Since our picture on Dinosaur turned out so good, we wanted to do something silly with the Test Track picture as well. The plan was for Lacey and John to act like they were asleep and I would look like I was choking Hunter.....expressing my motherly love and all. However, something didn't work out right and our picture turned out pretty crappy. No real sleeping pose and I'm just sittin' there looking like I'm waiting for my cue. Again, can't find the Photopass picture right now but will post it when I do.

Hunter wanted to video the ride on Test Track but my camera battery died. He used Lacey's camera instead. He was too scared to film the last part of the ride because he was afraid he would drop the camera (and he wanted to ride out the outside portion with his hands up) so we only got a portion:

Now that we had ridden Test Track, our last day at Epcot was complete and we were too tired to do anything else. We bid Epcot goodbye and made our way to the bus stop. Thankfully, there were just a few people waiting in line and a bus pulled up about 5 minutes after we got in line. The bus was freeeeezing though. I mean cold enough that the windows had water streaming down them....on the inside and on the outside. I'm a cold natured person to begin with and I thought I would turn into a popsicle before we got back to the resort. I, literally, watched the clock the entire ride and that was the longest 12 minutes.

Once we got back to the room, Lacey went down to the beach to make her nightly call to her Mission friends. John, Hunter and I laid down and immediately went to sleep. Tomorrow would be our last full day at Disney World. :sad1:

I love Test Track! When we went back in 07, we told Koby who was 6 at the time that it went 65 mph. He freaked! Now he rode Rock N Roller Coaster with no problems, did TOT & loved it! For some reason he cried & cried while we was in line. After the ride was over? "That was awesome mommy". I could have strangled him!

I can do the fireworks at MK (my fave) and, if we sit way in the back, I can do Fantasmic. I just think the explosions are too close to shore at Illuminations.

Yep! :thumbsup2 We should be there, it'll be my mom, DD17 (18 by then), DD's BFF, and me! I can't wait I'm so excited. This will be my 5th trip in 4 years and it still feels like the first time. :goodvibes
