Star Wars Weekend Tips ~ 2011 Update

I have read on other posts about the Jawas walking around the park and trading trinkets with kids. Does anybody have any experience with this and if so what should we bring for the boys to trade?

DH has traded pins and fast passes. They gave him fastpasses in return. My boys are looking forward to trading with the Jawas but we aren't bringing anything special to do it with, we'll just offer pins or fastpasses.

Old FP's, folded park maps etc- they aren't picky!!!

I've caught a few balls from Block Party Bash and used those to trade. They really are not that picky. I've seen people trade lids to bottles, lol.

Another thing that I wanted to point out is that the Padawan Mind Challenge is focused on The Clone Wars Cartoon series, just to let your little padawans know. It doesn't really matter, because everyone gets a prize at the end but I know alot of little ones that are really focused on getting answers right and might be a bit put off because it's not trivia about the 6 movies.

Good to know. DS10 has been studying. LOL:rotfl:

Our plane takes off in exactly 12 hours. I feel just like the commercial "I'm too excited to sleep!". I feel like I've got my plan of attack for Friday, I just hope my DS(6) can keep up. Don't worry he'll have an afternoon break at our room at the Boardwalk. It's been awhile since I've felt this "commando" excitement. I'm going to put down my cup of coffee now and think about any last minute packing that needs to be done.:surfweb::banana::banana:

My son is dying to do the Jedi training, but he'll be two weeks shy of four when we're there next week. He's been very chatty with CMs over the last year and most mistake him for about five. I have no doubt he could do it, but I'm not about to lie about his age. Is there any chance he might be allowed if we ask or is this really strick on age? I don't want to get his hopes up, but would love to give him a chance before our passes expire. (the day before his 4th bday!)

No unfortunately. They have to be at least 4.

Where is a good shady spot for the parade if you want to see the celebrity introductions immediately following?

You can sit on the stairs of AIE and be ready to walk behind the parade up to the SW stage, there will be ALOT of people doing this, but if you keep up with the rope you'll have great pictures of all characters and celebs on stage.

I know exactly how you feel. I woke up 2 hours before the alarm went of this morning b/c I was excited and ready to go! We don't leave until tomorrow night and I have to make it thru work today and in the morning half a day, thats the part thats killing me. I am just sitting here thinking of all I need to do, stuff I need to make sure got packed, etc.

As information for parents of three year olds, from what I hear, one of the things they ask the kids to prepare them for the show is how old they are (and the kid has to answer, not Mom or Dad). Kids aren't prone to lie about their age.

We sat on the main street (forgive my ignorance of the street names at DHS :flower3: Hollywood Blvd??) and walked the end of the parade right behind the rope to do this.

stupid question..but is the sun behind us if we sit there ...

One thing I learned is to have the SUN on the other side of me (across the street) as the pictures do not come out good, as it puts a haze on the pictures.

The sun will probably be directly on top since it's noon time, you can always do a couple of test pics.
