Star Wars Fireworks & Fantasmic!

Is the SW fireworks a nightly event? On the day we are scheduled to be at DHS in late August, the Fantasmic show is listed at 8:30 but the fireworks show is not listed at all.

Maybe.. so far it has been but it also showed on the schedule once as several days a week before it changed to every night.

So DD and I cheated and watched both Fantasmic and Galactic on Youtube. We still need DH's vote, but ours are going to Galactic. We think DH will vote for the fireworks, too. DD thinks the nightmare sequence in F! looks terrifying. She's easily spooked. The fireworks look - dare I say it? - even more impressive than Wishes! We are now hoping the dessert party is still being offered in January, so we can totally geek out SW style. If we do that, it looks like we definitely have to choose one over the other.

SS83, good idea to let MIL choose. That takes away some of the stress of deciding! :)

Loved reading all the responses! This board is so helpful! Thanks for starting this thread, SS83!!!!

Aaannd if they stop showing the fireworks every night in the winter, we may not need a choice! Eager to see those final park hours. Sometimes trying to plan does make me a little crazy.

Well, I just looked at the schedule for multiple days in August, and the SW fireworks show is not listed on any of those days. So it appears Disney has yet to decide on the timing for the fireworks for that entire month--I'm assuming there will be shows.

Sometimes trying to plan does make me a little crazy.

On the one hand, Disney forces you to start planning 6 months in advance if you want particular ADRs and 2 months ahead for rides. Yet, they can't be bothered to finalize the park schedules until just a few weeks ahead. Something is not right about that.

Rivers of Light would have to be a huge improvement over Jungle Book in order for me to see it instead of Star Wars. Hopefully, the delay on RoL is because they are trying to make it awesome. Jungle Book was a huge disappointment, and Disney seldom disappoints me.

They haven't extended the SW fireworks schedule out that far yet, but it's scheduled for every night in July. So I would think it's a safe bet.

I've just emailed Disney today to say how unhappy I am about the fact that the fireworks are now at 9.30 on the only evening I'll have there, because I have Fantasmic dining package and this only offers priority seating for the first Fantasmic of the evening. So either I give up my priority seating that I had planned months in advance, or I miss the start of the fireworks. Don't particularly want to do either. I'm sure there's nothing they can do but I wanted to highlight to them that a number of families will be in the same position as me and it's a bit disappointing.

Going in September and have the dinner package to see fantasmic at 8:30 and now I find out the the star wars fireworks are at 8:45. No way to see them both and this is our only day at HS. Bummed.
