Working on a friend's wedding and she wants to do a candy buffet with chinese takeout containers. I looked up a bunch of sites and the colored ones are just far too expensive, but found a restaurant supply site that has really inexpensive plain white chinese takeout containers (50 for 6.99!)

So we need to spice them up a bit, and since we're already stamping the placecards, we figured we could just stamp the takeout boxes. I'm not used to stamping on anything but normal paper so my question is, is there a certain ink or anything I should be using to stamp on those containers since they have that coating on them?

There IS a kind you can use to stamp on glossy paper, but I don't know what it is.

An alternative would be to stamp on paper (maybe a colored paper?) and run it through your xyron, then stick it on.

Sizzix also makes a take out box. Do you have a sizzix machine? You could make them out of what ever paper you want!

Staz-on is great or if you want alcohol inks work really well on glossy paper too.

I have been making monogrammed favor boxes for my sons wedding--200.
I started out thinking that I would stamp them---I wasn't happy with the results so I cut the monogram out of vinyl with my cricut and they look terrific.
