They are WONDERFUL!!! Thanks for sharing!!
What time of year did you go? How long did you stay? Where did you stay?
I have to start thinking about this. Dana REALLY wants to go.
Where would you stay if you had your choice? (money no object?)
Thanks for your input! I appreciate it! Need something to get me started - I am overwhelmed by the thought of planning something "foreign"....
Renee,
We stayed on the left bank... in the Parisian quarter of Saint Germain-des-Prés, it was a short walk to the Louvre and Orsay Museums (which was Maggies favorites) and the famous cafés and restaurants like Café de Flore and Les Deux Magots.
We also used the Hop on Hop of Bus... the red ones... it was great for traveling around the city. There was a bus stop not far from our hotel. It runs in a loop around the city to all the tourist attractions. We bought a multi day pass and then just would hop on and ride it to where we wanted to go.
We went to a fashion show one day, did lots of shopping, eating and drinking.... Maggie did most of the ordering... we did want to eat in the Eiffel tower but didn't do it.... a fun thing for us was I took Maggie back to the carasoul that she rode when we were in Paris before - she was 3 the last time we went.... I have photos of her on the same horse!
I did tons of research on the internet. We liked the left bank because it was close to the university (right by our hotel) and it was in walking distance to many of the things we wanted to see....
One night we did take a taxi back from the Eiffel tower to the hotel because we missed the last hop on bus stop... it was a little pricey... so I would be careful of that... I think it was that bottle of wine I had at dinner.... plus the Eiffel tower was really swaying that night.....lol....again...to much wine...

The thought of this trip really unnerves me, but I know Dana really wants to see Paris and I'm not sure I'd trust just sending her and Bob - he can't find his way out of a paperbag, I don't know what he'd be like in a foreign country. LOL
I am getting sad that it is already the end of July. I just ADORE the summer and can't stand to think of school starting, closing the pool, etc.
We will be flying out on Friday after work and flying back Sunday evening. We are staying at All Star Sports. Hopefully we will get there in time to go to EMH at Epcot on Friday night. Then we are planning to go to MK for RD on Saturday morning then the Studios Saturday evening and then AK for RD on Sunday morning. It will definitley be a quick trip but I'm excited! Paul and the girls will be staying at home so it's going to be really odd not having them there...I wish they could go!

I'm trying to get my house ready for four additional occupants. I like to entertain, but I'm not huge on "overnights"... it's so much work to have extra people, even if I do have the room. (of course, it DOES depend on the houseguests.) I'm bad. We don't see them often, and there's a REASON for that.
