Stalking DISers.... continue here

Things are busy as always around here. I took Tucker to summer camp yesterday. It is his first camp experience, so I hope he is doing well. I think Avery and I are probably having a harder time than he is, though! I pick him up Wed at 10PM. Then Thursday at 7AM both kids are leaving for a week in Chicago with Wynn's parents. Boy, it is going to be lonely around here! :sad1:

Kari-what will you do with all your free time;) :confused3

I am so enjoying summer...it is my season;) My parents were here for a week right after school got out. Visiting with them is always nice. So far kids havent been too crazy since summers been out. My son goes to boyscout came in two weeks.I say "better him then me", I am so not the camping sort of gal;)

Still looking forward to our cruise at the end of August. Dont want to wish the summer away too much, but sure anxious to get on that cruise ship :..

Ive got dogs coming and going, so the extra money is helping a lot.

Kari-what will you do with all your free time;) :confused3

I should say shampoo the carpets, clean the house, etc... but realistically I will probably catch up on my sleep and watch some DVDs I got for Christmas! Seems if it isn't Cartoon Network or Disney Channel, my TV can't tune it in anymore! Seriously... looking very forward to a week without Hannah Montanna. ;)

I can't believe your cruise is almost here. For us, summer just started. The kids were in school up until this past Friday (year round). Avery is happy to be home from school, but is really missing her brother. Their 4 week track out will go by in a whirlwind. After Chicago next week, we have Bible school, a trip to Greenville, SC to visit family, and a cub scout camp out at the lake. By the time they go back to school, they will be ready to drop from exhaustion! Then their next track out is our cruise!!

Renee - I'm glad you are having a good time. I hope the weather these last 2 days has been great. I can't wait to see pictures!

Kari - We are better...I still have congestion and coughing "fits" every now and then but definitley better. Enjoy your time next week...I know it will feel lonely without the kids though.

Scilla - I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. Only 51 days until your trip. I know you are getting excited about it!

51 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kari-I have started taking the prenatal vitamins my doctor suggested. Hardest part of this all was going back to work (i'm a rn in the NICU) and taking care of sick babies, or running to the OR to help with a c-section during it's delivery. I actually had to help out last week with an early set of triplets. When they handed baby A to the warmer infront of me I started crying under my mask and gown, with hands shaking.......emotional wreck huh? those damn Hormones..............

Oh Scilla... I don't even know what to say to you. First, I admire you SO much for the job that you do... You nurses are angels! I'm sure your patients and the parents of your patients just adore you. You make such a difference to so many people. And, I know that you and Rags will be blessed with a little one of your own as soon as the time is right. I'll be thinking of you...

Well Thank you!

When I took this job, Rags was a little worried. I was either going to want to have kids right away, or none at all EVER.......nothing has changed I still want my 4 kids, and Rags wants 2, but He'll learn that he can't win against me eventually.

By the way how is little Emerson the cutie doing? Or yes, I can't forget Maddie too........I know how that goes, right now our only Baby is my little shih tzu Nala (who is MY dog, no matter what Rags says.....she loves me more I've had her since before Rags and I started dating when I was still in the Air Force).......

I couldn't do your job, Scilla. Seeing those tiny little babies would break my heart. I hope when my kids are older to go back to school for nursing. I would like L&D or pediatric, but I think I would really like to go into the ER. But... that is YEARS in my future!

What are your WDW plans? Last I heard, Rags was thinking about upgrading to a nicer hotel, and looking at character breakfasts! Are your nieces excited?

Courtney... How is Princess Emerson doing? I love her little fat cheeks... just want to pinch 'em and call her Emmy! Is she rolling over yet? Tucker started rolling around 15 weeks. Avery started at 9 months! She would fall over and flail like a turtle and cry until someone rolled her over! That's my Princess... why do it yourself when there are peasants there to serve you?!

Love the peasent remark! She's my kind of girl.......

He did a great job planning it! You are like my DH, Wynn... just tell him where to go! I try to get his opinions on things, and he says "Whatever you want to do is fine." UGH!! But, to be honest, I don't want him messing up my obsessive compulsive planning!

We have friends (not DISers :scared1: ) who just took a Disney cruise. I kept giving them tips I had learned, especially bringing your own alcohol on board, and theywer just freaked out over everything. They got back last week and told Wynn to let me know I rock! So now Wynn is totally trusting of whatever I say! (My evil plan worked! )

I always want to try WL, but I get scared by the resort size verses number of rooms. It is less than 1/2 the size of CSR, with more rooms. I get worried I will feel like sardines in a can! I'll be looking forward to hearing how you like it.

Emerson is doing great... she's just got such a personality now. It's amazing how quickly she is growing and CHANGING! incredible. She is truly a blessing and it's really hard to imagine our lives without her.

And, yes, she's definitely a princess! She lets you know what she wants and when she wants it. She's rolled over a few times, but not on purpose. She'll just push up so high on her arms that she's topple over b/c her weight shifts. She's to the point now where she doesn't want to lay down. She's too nosy... she wants to sit up and see everything! And she loves TV!

I think the Bachelorette is her favorite show! Any one see it last night?! I love Jason!

Anyway- I started her on cereal last night- just one tsp. in her bottle. Hoping it will get her to sleep through the night--- and it worked! She made it to 5:30 this morning! Usually it's between 3 and 4... success! now, let's just hope we continue that trend!

We go to the beach Thursday-- Gulf Shores. It will be her first beach trip and we are SO excited! I'll take lots of pictures, and use lots of sunscreen!!!!

And Ryan and I have a WDW trip scheduled for December- no Emerson. She's too young (we want to take her when she's 5 or 6). This will be our little getaway...

I can't believe you are leaving her at home!!! It will be a nice get-away, though. I joined a POP fridge swap (Baby, It's Cold In Here!) and they have openings in Dec.

Have you seen the little beach cabana tents made for babies? Those are great for the shade, and they still get plenty of breeze. You can also put a bath seat (the sit-up kind) or Bumbo seat in a blow-up pool with some water, and she can splash some. Hope you have a great time!!

Scilla - I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I had a miscarriage when we were married 2 years... hard to believe that baby would have been 20 years old! It's amazing how common miscarriages really are - I guess "nature's way" of taking care of things. I pray that you and Rags will be blessed with a sweet little someone in the future.

We are all packed, the concierge printed our boarding passes, and the town car will pick us up at noon for our 2:30 flight back home. :sad1:
We had a great time, but I think I am ready to go home. I need some rest! LOL :lmao:

I will post some pictures when we get home and I get through the laundry and pick up Mr. Mocha, and grocery shop for 4th of July (my family is coming for a pool bbq! - what was I thinking?!) :rolleyes1

Bob and I talked and I think we will be booking again for next year. His MetLife rate is too good to pass up. Dana's still enjoying coming, so maybe we'll come one more time, before we plan our 25th anniversary cruise. The other possibility is to take Dana to Paris when she graduates high school. I have no desire to go, but she wants to DESPERATELY. lol We'll have to see about that!

Dana starts a mini-Geometry course on Monday for two weeks in the mornings, then a week of full day horse camp, then we are going to Cape May at the end of the month into the first week of August. Then she has a two week theatre workshop in the mornings, then Bob's sister and mother are coming for a visit, and THEN we will be getting ready to start school again!!!
The summer's gone before it started!!! :scared:

I just want to go home now and sit by my pool in the backyard! :cool2:

Scilla.... thanks for doing the job you do... I had three miscarriages before our little Maggie came along and then she spent a long time in the NICU at Childrens Hospital in Boston... she was on ECMO which was still experimental at the time - 19 years ago.... the nurses helped us so much... since then Maggie has suffered from some seizures and we have had a few more hospital visit... can't imagine doing the job you do... you are Gods angels on earth!!!!

Renee.... my vote is for a trip to Disney and to Paris.... I took Maggie for her 16th birthday - just the two of us for 10 days... it was wonderful....did I say wonderful....more than that... we created memories that will last the two of us forever..... we went to all the musuems.... she loves the impressionist artists (like Monet).... we took a few tours... went to Versailles for a day...that was beautfiul... drank to much wine.... it was just great!!!

We seem to be in a little lull here at home... Daniel is down to one baseball team and Junior golf.... and Maggie is just off at various graduation parties... her party was last weekend so that is over............:thumbsup2 so much work..... she is taking a girls trip this week... her a four friends... they will have fun, then next week of with the boyfriends family for a week vacation. We have been buying all the "stuff" for the college dorm room.... can't believe she leaves in 5 weeks.... I will miss her so much:sad2:

Work is busy.... Tim is busy... still waiting for airfares to get reasonable or February trip might be out....

hope everyone is doing well!!!!

Wendy:lovestruc

Wendy - I might need for you to send me some "Paris" info! :goodvibes

I've been trying to do a "trip report" and gather all my photos together. We had a terrific time and have decided to return again next year, since Bob's rate is so incredible.

Looking forward to a few days in Cape May at the end of the month into the first week of August. Dana started a Geometry intro course, but it ended up being completely "independent study", so we told her she can forgo the second week and just work on things at home. The following week she has horse camp.

Might be going to Jacksonville area for a few days after Christmas - we want to see Bob's 21 year old niece, who was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease.. don't know how long she has. :guilty: They did not come to see us when we were in Orlando as they did the previous two years. I think the whole situation is so overwhelming to them.

Wendy - I'm glad that things are starting to slow down for you! I know you are anxious about Maggie going away to school...I can't imagine what it's going to be like when Amanda goes away to school! How far away from home will she be?

Renee - I'm glad to hear that you had a good trip and are going back next year! I can't wait to see your photos and your trip report. It sounds like Dana still have some fun things planned before school starts back.

Here's an update on us...Paul is still working contract. This past Monday the owner of the company told him that hopefully he will be able to go permanent full time within a couple of weeks!! We are very excited and thankful for this opportunity. He has had a couple of other interviews but this is the job that he wants and the one that we are praying for.

We had Alyssa's 5th birthday party yesterday. We used a house that our church has for the party. It has a very nice playground and big area in the den to set up the tables for cake and ice cream. We ended up with 16 4 & 5 year olds!!! Almost all of the parents stayed and some brought siblings so we had a house full of people. She had so much fun and I think all of her little friends did too.

Amanda had volleyball camp all week last week. It was at a local college from 5:30 - 8:30 in the evenings so we didn't have to worry about her being homesick like she was at camp last year. She is excited about going to her new school and is renewing old friendships with the girls that are on the volleyball team that she went to preschool with and making new friends in the ones that have come to the school since then. She got her schedule in the mail yesterday. I'm going to have to call and talk to the counselor tomorrow because they don't have band on there. Hopefully it will work out where she can continue in the band.

I think we have decided not to try to go to Disney this December. :sad1: We are tentatively planning to go Memorial Day week & then again next December instead. :) With Paul not getting paid for May and having to use our vacation savings for that income that month we just don't need to spend that much. For our short trip of Wed - Sunday and airfare at $1,000 or more our trip would cost over $3,100 and this doesn't include tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Where as if we wait to go in May for a week then we can drive and it will probably cost about the same thing and we get to stay longer...Yeah!! Our school gets out the Thursday before Memorial Day so hopefully we could leave on that Friday and stay through the next Sunday.

Oops...I gotta go to a youth meeting at church about Missions Week this coming week. Amanda is now in the youth group and they are keeping them very busy this summer!! They went bowling yesterday morning...she had a blast!!

It's good to hear from ya'll:goodvibes ...I've been missing everybody!!!:)

Maggie is only going to be about an hour away.... so I am thinking I can go visit her once a week for dinner or lunch.... plus she is going to try and keep her job here... her boss asked her to come one weekend a month and then she would put her on the schedule during all of her breaks.... every time I think about her leaving I start to cry... I can't believe I did this to my mother...yikes... I will miss her very much.... maybe will have to make it two meals a week....lol.... I am sure we will get used to it...no not really....she left this morning to go off with 3 friends for a couple of days... they were so cute driving off in the car...all giggles....they are going to our summer house which is only two hours away....they will have fun...while I am stuck here working.... yes... I am working right now....can't you tell.....

Sounds like Amanda had a nice birthday party.....

Renee....tell Dana to have fun at horse camp.... I am going to look for some of our Paris photos and post them.....

Oh yes - post Paris photos!!!! :cool1:

Glad that Maggie will only be an hour away - but that's an hour too far for me.. lol I think Dana will stay home for college. ;)

Nice to hear that Amanda is getting excited about her new school!

They are WONDERFUL!!! Thanks for sharing!!

What time of year did you go? How long did you stay? Where did you stay?

I have to start thinking about this. Dana REALLY wants to go.

Where would you stay if you had your choice? (money no object?)

Thanks for your input! I appreciate it! Need something to get me started - I am overwhelmed by the thought of planning something "foreign"....

Renee,

We stayed on the left bank... in the Parisian quarter of Saint Germain-des-Prés, it was a short walk to the Louvre and Orsay Museums (which was Maggies favorites) and the famous cafés and restaurants like Café de Flore and Les Deux Magots.
