Staff Deals With Bad Trade

My good friend CyanMatt was tricked into a trade by Hamhamboy.CyanMatt,wanting a sorcerers hat,traded.He traded teleportation,space suit,and more quest.He never knew it was on sale in the emporium,and gave it all away.I came into his room around 5:00 and Cyanmatt says,"I got the hat!"
I say:"Emporium"
CyanMatt says:"What?"
I say:"It's on sale,In the emporium."
He says:"h"

I am quiting this game CyanMatt claims.I say,no you're not!

VMK_Nimue came to respond to the many reports by me and friends,and says there is nothing we can do.We are asking everyone to donate rare,magic,and quest stuff to pay for all the things he lost.All the trade will go to me,then CyanMatt,with a little extra from me.This will all be put into a room(magic pins stored in my tummy)and later given to him on the first of December.

And remember,be sure to check all stores before trade!

This is very bad comes to show that staff is not the best thing that can help you but more your friends.

I will try to donate..i dont have much but i will try he is a good person and deserves to not go through all this trouble. We must all try to bring up his self esteem

That is awful! I have a feeling that that same thing has happened to more than one person today. About an hour ago, my daughter agreed to bring up a trade window with another vmk player. They started offering her lots of good stuff for her sorcerer ears. She sent them to the Emporium and they were happy campers, but I wonder how many times it did not go so well today!

If that was your friend's only space suit, please let me know. I happen to know how I can get my hands on another one if need be...

i have also donated, i hope everyone that can afford to will. CyanMatt is a good friend of mine, have known him for a long time. He's so sweet, never would hurt a fly. I sat there and argued with that staff member for like ten minutes in his room. I didn't even care if i got banned. LOL! I just can't believe they would put something in the store with no notice or warning or anything. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for them re-releasing beta stuff. I liked how they gave warning when the halloween costumes came out, and even though some people found out sooner than others (poor AlwaysPrincess got taken advantage of by someone dumping their dresses as soon as they found out and she hadn't gotten the news yet) at least it's more fair when they at least TRY to warn us.

I don't think it's fair to call this trade a scam when CyanMatt got an item that he wanted. He was willing to trade those items for the ears. Yes, he could have saved the items and bought the ears, but he chose to make the trade. It was his decision to make the trade. He got what he wanted for a price he was willing to pay. It just was bad timing with the ears going on sale today--if the trade had happened yesterday, no on would be calling this a scam.

I guess we should all take it as a lesson to double check the stores when we sign on each week in case rare items we are looking for are on sale again.

It was a fair trade in that they both agreed to it but it was morally not right. The trader knew that the ears were no longer valuable. If he had the obligation to disclose that they were for sale again, that can be debated.

I do think that it is wrong. That type of thing happened to me with the princesses dresses minutes after the announcent came that they were rereleasing the dresses. My honest feeling on it is shame on her and I will never EVER trade with her again. She is very well known but not on this board. It was not cheating but taking advantage.

As far as VMK goes, they really do not get involved in bad trades. They don't seem to care. It is the trader beware.

Saying that it needs to be pointed out that a number of Dis people were called and they all rallied around this player. This is the great part about Dis people! I so enjoy being a part of such a group of caring helping people. He was offered most of his items back but I think the thing that stung most of us was VMK sent a staff member to the room, that didn't do anything, couldn't do anything. Hey they only have limited resources and they have to spend most of them watching Moussedude and Sufferat!

the scam occurs when the person CyanMatt was trading with told him they were indeed still rare and poor Matt, hat on his head proudly went to show his friend milkabum found out the truth, and not only the truth but that milkabum herself had just spoken with this person just before Matt and he tried to pull the same scam on her. she fortunately was already the wiser and had just been to Emporium, and said villain smoothed it over as if it were a joke then - fully aware the hats were on sale and it was how he had obtained it.

it's nothing short of a scam.

sure he was willing to trade all that stuff for a rare item, because it was rare to his knowledge. how would you like someone to pull the same stunt on you, Tlinden16, and see if you still feel that it's not a scam.
