SSR Lovers and Owners Part 4

Hello All! We will be staying at SSR (1 br - cash reservation) in 2 weeks. Originally we were booked a split stay Boulder Ridge/Beach Club Villas but I checked availability/prices again for the AP discount and switching to a full 10 nights at SSR saved us almost $1k, i couldn't justify keeping our other reservations with that cost difference - so - I'm trying to get hyped to stay there! Nothing negative about the resort, my husband is just from outside Saratoga Springs NY so the theme never stood out to us to try since we spend a lot of time there. It will be me, my husband, and my 12 year old daughter. We tend to spend a lot of time at the hotel, we love relaxing, pools, naps, etc. We will have a rental car so that should alleviate some of the frustrations I've read about with the buses (and we never rope drop). Anything specific I should consider? Thoughts on the food choices?

We aren't terribly picky, but the last minute change is giving me a little anxiety. Thank you!

We tend to spend a lot of time at the hotel, we love relaxing, pools, naps, etc.

You will love Saratoga then! We tend to have low key trips when we book at SSR. We were there over Memorial Day weekend and for the first time ever, we spent an entire day at the pool. We stayed in the Paddock section and it was so relaxing

As for food suggestions, with Disney Springs at your fingertips you have all the options you can handle. At the pool bar I really enjoyed the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. We also tried the Turf Club this last trip and had a fantastic time.

I saw in the pinned post the studio has a microwave, but just wanted to confirm that. Our last visit was the treehouse, we haven’t stayed in a studio yet but our next trip will be and thinking about our grocery list - also do you think the mini “fridge” will keep any frozen?

It defines has a microwave. We’ve had rooms with freezers and ones without at SSR so I wouldn’t count on keeping anything frozen.

Yes, can confirm in my party we had a 6 and 12 year old in this class and they both loved it. Great level of interaction with the instructor. (typically very small groups), something fun to take home and be proud of, and to top it off you get an exclusive trading pin that's practically worth the cost of the class (at least if you like trading pins!).

Bell services will take you to your room along with your luggage and any grocery deliveries that you have waiting for you.

Bell services is staffed 24/7. You might have to wait a few minutes if they are helping someone else, but they will get you and your belongings where you need to be as soon as possible.

Last year we arrived late and the gate security gave us our room number since it wasn’t on the app. We were able to go straight to our room.

How did you arrive - in a car with only your party in it (your own, rental, rideshare, private limo), or a shared shuttle or bus, etc., with multiple separate parties?

We arrived with just my party in a rental car.

Ok, that’s good to know - guests arriving on their own can go straight to their building, if they know their room number, and don’t have to go to Carriage House or use Bell Services.

Unfortunately I don't remember. It might have just been offered one time on one day that week. It was a Tuesday for what that's worth. I'd call and try to get in touch directly with the Community Hall to learn more.

On the June schedule for SSR, it was on Tuesdays, if I’m reading this correctly. You can follow this thread on the Disney Resorts board.

their blog post was where I was finding the conflicting info. On one page it says Tuesdays at 3:30 and on the bottom of their blog post it says Wednesdays 2-3:30. We arrive supposed to land at MCO on a Tuesday at about 1pm, so there's a chance we could make it that day, depending on the rental car counters and luggage.
