SSR Lovers and Owners Part 4

Hi everyone. I'm thinking of renting points at SSR for May 2025 and have never stayed there.
What do you all love about this resort?? I am really wanting to walk to Disney Springs as we love to eat there, I have two girls who will be 9 and 6 next year - what will they love about this resort?
Is it easy to get ride share if we don't want to wait for a bus to the parks?
How are the pools? My kids love to be in the water so will be spending a bit of time at the pools.

The pools are great. My 7 year old prefers the main pool in the springs but we love the Congress Park quiet pool with a view of DS. We stayed next to the Paddock Pool once too. I know people really like this one but it wasn’t my fav. However the location was very convenient and the Paddock Grill was great.

We love the rooms and the proximity to DS.

Ride share isn’t a problem. We use it regularly.

The family and I will be at SSR for Thanksgiving this year. Does Turf Club or Artist Palette serve a good Thanksgiving meal? If not, any good DS restaurant recommendations for that day?

All pick up / drop off it done at at carriage house, that is where the guard will direct the driver to go when letting them into the gate so they will follow the instructions of the guard as to not get banned from Disney property. They have a ride share pick up area
When we stayed last fall and had an early morning flight, I had prebooked a rideshare that picked us up right in front of our building. We were in Paddock, not close to the Carriage house and not certain what the bell services hours were. Luckily I was unaware of this potential and it wasn't enforced, would have led to a sleepless night!

Our arrival time will tentatively be around 1:30pm and we are arriving via towncar service. If our room is already ready, will we be able to have our driver drop us off at our building? Or will we have to stop at the Carriage House? Also, when we depart, I have not decided yet between Uber/Lyft or a towncar service back to the airport. With either of those options, will we have to go to the Carriage House to get picked up or can they come directly to our building?
I have used Lyft at SSR and have always been picked up and dropped off at my building.

Yep. We use Lyft while at Disney and have always been picked up and dropped off right at our building. Same for last trip. Once the drivers get past the gate, they just head towards where you are if you have your location on. I think the security just prefers they do what is the fastest.

For the treehouse, there is mention of parking one car at the treehouse. Is that spot directly in front of the treehouse or in a nearby lot? Trying to compare it to the Fort Wilderness Cabins, where you actually park right at your door.

Right out front!

As mentioned there's no direct bus to theme parks from Disney Springs, however, I often use Disney Springs to get to and from theme parks rather than take the resort busses at SSR. Not that they're necessarily quicker, but just that I enjoy having a lot less crowds on the busses from Springs earlier in the afternoon/late morning, and I often enjoy taking alternative transportation methods into the parks.

If going to MK or DHS, I'll take a bus to Wilderness Lodge or Contemporary, sometimes Polynesian - then take the boat to MK, or from Contemporary, just walk over. If going to Epcot, I'll take the DS bus to Beach or Boardwalk, and walk into Epcot via the Int'l Gateway. Since I like boats, it's a nice way to start off my theme park day. Coming back from the parks, ESPECIALLY when there to closing and fireworks, the bus stops at the theme parks back to resorts are super-crowded, so I will use the same technique to get back to Saratoga - walk to Beach/Boardwalk from Epcot or DHS, or to Contemporary from MK, hop the Disney Springs bus, and walk back to Congress Park.
This is great information. I will staying at SSR in January for a solo trip and like to start my day off nice and easy so following your tips is great.

How long is the walk to Disney Springs from The Springs? I would request Congress Park, but if I don't get it, and my main focus is Disney Springs, is that a doable walk? Thanks.

I've walked from Paddock by the pool and that was doable, but the springs is a little further. I'd guess about a mile, so it depends on the weather and how used to walking you are. You can always take the boat from the Springs. I'd suggest only requesting Congress Park and not other room requests. That way you'll have really good odds at getting it.

Thank you. Turns out the studios are fully booked for the date I wanted.

Artist Palette seems to be getting a good amount of love on a thread about Deluxe CS.....
We will be enjoying it again in a little over a month. We have owned at SSR for almost 21 years. SSR has always been on the rotation and enjoyed. This however is the first time staying preferred. Although I do enjoy Paddock.
