dvd rentals: Do all the rooms at SSR have DVD players? We are staying in a studio. Are the movies mostly family/kid movies or do they have a decent selection?

I have not stayed at SSR yet (June 1-7), but I thought I read that studios DO NOT have DVD players. While you can't check with DVC on your reservation, you could call SSR guest services direct and verify.

We stayed at SS in a Studio last October and our room had a DVD player. Not sure if they all do but ours did.

Laurie -we stayed in a studio in the springs (Feb 2008) and it had a DVD player in it, also you can "rent" movies for free at the rec center, not a huge choice but a nice bonus. We loved staying at the springs, easy to everything. Enjoy your June trip, we will be there the same time but trying out BWV. I hope the parks are not packed yet

Yes, the girlie stuff is going to be alot of fun!! We've got some spa things booked (I actually want to add something else, but not sure what) and then on one of the days, Lonnie is going back to the Spa for more treatments, while I go on the Epcot Segway tour. Also looking forward to Jiko (AKV is my home which I will be seeing for the first time), hanging by the GORGEOUS ssr pools, Pleasure Island, DTD....pretty much a LOT of things I either have never done or that I haven't done in YEARS!!! If you notice a tall (6') blonde hanging by the pool with a shorter (5'3) blonde- that's us!!! Come on over for some girl time!!

I just reread this entire thread in anticipation of our SSR trip, now only 23 days away. All the advice will be so helpful.

I am getting so excited, as this will be our first trip home. I've never seen SSR, not even a tour visit....purchased it and AKV sight unseen. I know I won't be disappointed.

This was probably mentioned earlier, but don't forget about the fourth of July fireworks! Just go to the waterfront area in the Congress Park section. I'm glad we have this option, rather than fighting the sea of humanity in one of the theme parks!

Yes! There are fireworks at Downtown Disney on 4th of July as well as New Years Eve. I confirmed with MS, just to make sure.

We are staying at SSR this May. If our room is not ready is there somewhere to change so we can swim in the pool. Also about how long is the walk from Grandstand to Artist Palette & the Main pool.
