Wow, some people are so rude. I would have been furious too, even more so because the mother did absolutely nothing and found her children's behaviour amusing.

And then parents wonder why their kids wind up in Juvie. Unbelievable. Glad you were able to usher Candi away before the throw down began.
I am happy to report that my BBQ experiment met with success. I followed the same marinade / dry rub routine that I usually follow. I then got some mesquite chips, soaked them overnight and used heavy duty tin foil to create 4 packets. 3 of them had two handfulls of wet chips and were folded to look like a little pouch. The last one had 4 handfulls of chips and was folded more like a pie tin. (A pie tin would have been good actually, but I didn't have a dsposable one and wasn't willing to risk ruining a real one.)
My gas grill has a seperate burner for each side. At 6:30 AM, I lit side A and the turned it down to low, and I left side B off. while it was warming up, I rinsed the marinade off the meat, added the dry rub and made the packets of wood chips.
At 6:45, I added the meat to the cool side of the grill. (I had a piece of heavy duty foil under it and made a "snake" out of HD Tin Foil to put beside it to create a bit of a heat shield. I set the "pie plate" chips on the grill above the flame, and put the first of the smaller packets under the grill leaning on the heat shield. (Got to make sure you don't stop up the burner itself. I also poked a couple of holes in the top.) An hour later, I slid the first lower packet over under the brisket and added in the 2nd one, right in the same spot. An hour later, I added in the thrid one.

After adding final smoke packet. (Down below the grill. The black round thing on the right is the packet of chips sitting up top.)
An hour later, I took the meat off, covered with foil and finished in a 220 degree oven until the internal temp was 195. Once the temp probe started chiming (around 3:30), I took it out and let it rest for 2 hours un-molested, still wrapped in foil. Finally, I carved off the fat layer, then sliced it across the grain. It was juicy, smoky and downright good. The leftovers were shredded, combined with more BBQ sauce, then turned into sandwiches a couple of days later.
All in all, this method worked quite well. You just need to ensure the meat doesn't get too hot in the grill (Low means different things on different units) and you need to have an extra grease recepticle under the grill as it will overflow the little tin can hanger thing most of them have. (I used a metal bowl on the ground. If you use this method, be sure your dog doesn't find it and take a slurp, then go running inside to puke it all over the living room. Don't ask me how I know this.)
Smoked brisket is most definitely a labor of love. That sounds and looks amazing...but like an awful lot of work!

i cant see it being that comfy, but lazy sleepy crabby teens i guess will use anything they can.Obnoxious teenagers.....Imagine that!!!! They are everywhere & I agree it has to do with the parenting. But, I gotta ask, just how comfortable could it be to hang & lay on one stroller?
Glad the margartias were so close by to help ease the pain!I love that saying "I need a drink!" & have been known to use it on occasion myself.

ouch, that stinks, then you have to take the long hike around the other way which depending on how tired you are can be a good 30 minute walk in itself. my trivia book says that from one side of WS around to the other is 1.3 miles.First off.. thanks on the exact, precise location of my Velcro froggies! That was very helpful!
The bridge- yes, it was very intentionally left up. We waited by that sucker for half an hour for it to go down, but it was after midnight, and I think it was there to stay. Up. DANG- Foiled again.
sure you can, how about bloody marys, do you like those that is my coctail of choice. Can I have a daiquiri instead? I like them more.
We got stuck last year in June. We were in Italy and waited for the crowd to move on. My sister wanted to show us the grapes growing in the smoking section in Italy and she needed a smoke break too. So I guess we were there for a while or maybe they were in a rush to put it up.
So how do noses taste?
hey you didnt ask about the 11pm lesson learned, it is in the next chapter.I would have lost it too! UGH! I'm glad the margarita helped.
CUTE photopass pics! That smurf blue looks darn good on everyone.
that bugs me as well, especially when they try and push there tub past you when clearly there is not enough room for more tubs to go through then you get smacked in the head by them.It drives me crazy the way some of these teens act now!
I had a similar experience as Club Cool-we went to a water park a few weeks ago and I wanted to relax in the lazy river. Well, I couldn't because there was a group of kids (not teens-younger) playing around on the inner tubes, jumping from one to another and pushing each other off the tubes. There were no adults anywhere! I was so aggravated!
very true very true...Ugggg, I hate that! Or when they paddle as fast as they can and splash and bump into everyone in their path. Defeats the purpose of "lazy river."

ohh man that looks good, doesnt sound too hard, just a little bit of time, but you have to take the time when you use a smoker anyway..thanks for the step by step and the pictur, it helped. i will see what i can muster up.And then parents wonder why their kids wind up in Juvie. yep they should definetlyneed some kind of exam before having kidsYou have to get a High School Diploma , a drivers license ... how come nadda to be a parent !!!!!Kyle has ADHD and when he has not taken his meds or they have worn off he can be a PISTOL !! But Judy would never allow him to abuse someone elses stroller !!! There is NO excuse for those parents

very true, please and thank you go a long way to getting them acting right, and respect isnt something that is hard to teach, i think the problem is alotof the parents dont show the KIDS respect so the kids never show respect in ther own right.Coming out of LurkTown to comment on the rude behavior...I was a nanny for 15 yrs. before having kids and rude behavior in kids is something that gets my blood boiling...not to mention in parents!!!! There is no excuse for it b/c manners and respect is something that is easy to teach. I am scared for kids these days b/c of how they are allowed to act towards adults and their own parents!!! I would have certainly acted the same way as your wife and my husband would have probably had to step in too!!But neither of us drink so I don't know what we would have done to calm down!!

Only through Chap 5 so far, but wanted you to know how much I've enjoyed reading so far! Keep up the good "work"!
Also delurking to comment. Teens are full of themselves, just the way they can be, the real anger moment for me is the mother and her not using that moment as a teaching manners moment.
kids are sometimes completely unaware of anything outside their own bubble, and sometimes parents zone out and miss the embarrassing thing they are doing two feet away. But when neither has decency I get lippy!
thanks, i know alot of people dont have time for the banter in between so glad the links work out and people use them.Great report!
And THANK YOU for having an index for each part. I don't want to miss any of them!
yep sometimes the people you run into are not as bad as others but you still seem to run across many of them at disney.Wow! It sounds like you really had your fill of rude people that day! The photopass pictures look great. I don't think I have ever seen the the bridge up.
thanks, i like to share them with people who appreciate good food. Now there are 2 DISer's houses I want to come over to dinner to; yours, GB and Cynthia's! You guys know your stuff!!Dan, you can bring the pickles!!!
thanks, yep it is sad sometimes, just have to hope they dont pass it down to future kids that they have. Finally caught up! I am often appalled at how kids act sometimes, but even more so when there are parents present and they don't do anything to correct them. Some parents seem to not want to be bothered with having to be a parent! Glad you were all able to "cool off"!
Evening Dan !! I tried helping you on Liessa 's thread and my computor said FATAL ERROR!!!!!![]()
